Like everyone else says, great little stove and I love the idea of the "hot plate" which I'm guessing that you use for keeping things warm on. The only thing missing is the smoke and burn marks around your stove on the wooden surface. Well designed.
Hi Stephen received my little Rocket last week . am impressed and the flame is just great . i have taken it with me camping this weekend and i recommend this to all ...wont be disappointed.
Great Job Mate, Ive been using little wood stove for camping that Ive home made BUT I Love your one!!!! Ive just seen it on EBay, Exspect an order very soon!!! Take it easy :-)
Next time use fewer sticks so you can have a lower flame. You won't have to worry about soot from the wood fire getting all over the cookware. If the soot is a pain to get off give this a try, or try a heat diffuser. :)
The stove in this video and the one on the website are the same, I have a new model in the works, same stove with extending legs that get the stove 600mm off the ground. Will have some made and up on my website later next week.
Mirriulah Water Dog I will have a long legged version of this stove available later this week. Legs get the rocket stove 600mm off the ground and can be removed if you don't need them.
Hi Brett, terribly sorry, the five year old found the phone and wrote that ridiculous reply, I will bring this to Stephens attention when he wakes up after night shift - his wife, Elizabeth
Hi Brett, I think next time I won't leave my five year old in charge of my social media.🙄 As a rule I haven't really ever followed any rules, but I've always made sure my riser is longer than the air intake / burn chamber. The rocket stove in this video is a direct heating stove, the fire is licking the bottom of the skillet. I find for bang for buck as far as size is concerned, direct heating gives you the benefit of a larger stove, in a smaller package. To get to the meat and potatoes of your question, I hear people talk about the rule of thirds eg make your riser a third longer than your air intake/burn chamber. On my pizza oven rocket stove build that's the principle I followed and it worked perfectly fine. But as my other little stoves, Inc the one in this video, you don't have to follow that rule exactly. I hope this is helpful, I've just done a lot of experiments with riser length, burn chamber size, air intake size and these have become Christmas presents for all my relatives the past five years.
@@LittleAussieRockets Thanks Steve 😉 I had heard something similar and I can appreciate getting it right takes a lot of work. Kids and phones hahaha can relate to that as well
Thankyou so much for purchasing one of my little stoves! Are wood pellets like BBQ heat beads or something else? I've had a few people ask me to try BBQ heat beads in them as it would be a more constant heat, so perhaps that will be a video for another day.
Hey Stephen, your welcome. Wood pellets are available from bbq suppliers. Some pet shops even sell them as kitty litter in 15KG bags quite cheaply. I have used them in a small tlud gassifier with great success. They are basically saw dust recycled into pellets about the same size as chook pellets and approx 3/4 of a cup will burn for about 30 mins. Very economical. Will try them in my new rocket stove when it arrives. Good luck and I wish you all the best for future stove developments. PG.
What an awesome learning experience for your daughter. She's more adventurous then mine, she would turn her nose up to it!!

Can I pay for it now and specify the long legged option as I have a lot of arthritis and it sounds like the higher stand would be helpful to me.
Hi Steve I am wondering if there's a formula for intake to chimney length ratio to create the air drawer efficiently?
@@LittleAussieRockets
Well that's helpful
Serious question and that sort of an answer great customer relations there buddy🙄😒

Hi Stephen. Great little stove. Just purchased 1 on eBay. Have you ever tried running wood pellets in your stove?
No, I don't actually know what a wood pellet is. Is it like a BBQ heat bead?
