Used to be included on the State Of Texas Vs. Alejandro Rose-Garcia EP (as the art on the video would indicate) but hasn't been for several years at least. Not sure why the change happened
Just to give a little context, this song was included on the initial release of the State Of Texas Vs. Alejandro Rose-Garcia EP. That was the first Shakey Graves Day release I'm almost certain. If you're unfamiliar, on Shakey Graves Day you can download his whole discography for free, and there's at least one new release. The Shakey Day relases are only available for about a week before they disappear until the next year. At some point, Halloween was no longer on the EP when you downloaded. Never explained why as far as I know. I'm not certain which year it was taken off in, but it was only on the EP for like 3 years at most, could be less. I'm also certain that when I downloaded the first year, the track order was different on the EP than it has been when I downloaded it subsequent times. I'm not sure if the track rearrangement and the deletion of Halloween occurred at the same time or not. It does look like there's at least one live performance up on youtube. There was also a file I found long ago of a radio show or similar, where artists would perform over the phone, and he played Halloween on that show. Bad sound quality as you might expect, but for completists, try tracking that one down. If anyone has questions hit me with them, I may know the answer

exactly. if it was re recorded with a million dollar production probably wouldn't feel so right like this version. i love the humble comfortable feeling of it. like singing with your friends at a small party
The recording is perfect. I’d be curious to hear a cleaner studio version just because it’s such a beautiful song. But I think half the romance is locked in with the recording.
