Toor Knives reached out to me after my Krypteia Knife review and asked what I’d like to try out next. They probably wanted some exposure for one of their common knives but I was fascinated by their Tomahawk! Well a few days later a Toor Knives Tomahawk arrived in the mail and I got a chance to give it a decent workout with all types of cutting tasks. I think you’ll like this review and it might even convince you that you need a tomahawk in your life!

Never have I been so disappointed in an Officer Gregg film. I was thinking, law enforcement or not, that cruise missile is going to make Gavin Newsom & Co apoplectic. If this is a film co-operation with Taofledermaus they are going to need one ginormous gummy bear for the impact point!
Greg, I know from your comments you watch Paul Harrell, but you need to catch more of Sootch00 to perfect the "Thumbs Way Up" comment the next time someone sends you some tat to test and evaluate.
I was very happy for you when you got sent the two FK Brno pistols, but come on, $400 for an axe that is probably shite for chopping wood. Didn't even see a carry pouch or belt attachment for that price. Anyone who buys this just has too much money.

Interesting note regarding "staying armed" Florida has a "must issue" CCW a Carry Concealed Wepon license. It's not just for a Concealed firearm. It includes ... Knives, pepper spray or Chemical defence items, clubs (asp, billy clubs etc) and electronic devices (stun guns, tasers etc) so in other words it gives people options on how to defend themselves. Many states don't allow anything, but, a firearm. It's nice to have choices.

“A thing of beauty is a joy forever”, plus being so versatile. Randall knives are in the same order of beauty and versatility, but, just as I cannot justify paying $600+ for a Randall, I cannot justify paying $300 for this modern update on one of Mankind’s oldest tool technologies. Good review.

Myself and a couple others in my squad carried tomahawks in Iraq, though we didn't really end up using them for breaching like we had planned. I will say most doors in Baghdad are pretty solid and if a good "donkey kick" didnt do the trick, a hallligan tool, or battering ram was needed. Our breacher always carried the hallligan and we always kept a battering ram in one of the humvees. There is one instance i can recall where one of our guys used his tomahawk to bust open the trunk of a car we were searching

Been hunting most of my life since I was about 9 I’m 22 now. My father when we would hunt carried a tomahawk and I never knew why. I asked one year I was about 12 at that point and he told me about his time in the marines in Vietnam and how he always used it and never left the Fob without it. He would later show me how to use it for defense, hunting, camping you name it. He got me one when I was 14 and I’ve been collecting ever since and never go hunting or fishing without it. Tomahawks are amazing versatile things and I’m definitely going to be picking up this one soon.

About all I use a hatchet for is kindling preparation for the wood stove. I do carry a small 19" Swedish forest ax in my truck, jumper cables, aftermarket 2 ton jack, aftermarket lug wrench, A scrap piece of 2X12 for the jack, small DC compressor, small tool bag, and a small aid bag, water, emergency blanket, ratchet straps and a tow strap. I live out on a ranch in S. Tx pretty far from anything. I took a tumble one day down a bank of a dry creek bed and was cut pretty good on my hand by a sharp rock. Had to do self aid, and drove into town to the doctor. What you carry can save lives, or make life easier. Quality tools are a must.

The one thing that is impervious to tomahawk was the old school plastic CD packaging. Some manufacturers still use the welded plastic clamshell for fragile items only to have the purchaser damage the contents since there is no tool on earth that can open the welded plastic cleanly or expeditiously.

You would think these situations never happen. Back in the 90’s on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the Cadillac in front of me left the highway & missed the guardrail on a mountain. I pulled over, along with 4 other vehicles. I had a passenger, as did some others. I think there were 7 or 8 of us. Like a well organized team of complete strangers who had never met, actually from all over the US, we all followed the path down the mountain cut out by the vehicle. It was extremely steep. The Cadillac had narrowly missed large trees, ran over smaller trees, actually slowing the vehicle to some degree. Probably 350 to 400 yards down the mountain the Cadillac centered a huge tree. All 3 occupants were over 75 years old. Gas was pouring out. I was the only person with a knife. I had to cut the 2 seatbelts in front to free the driver & passenger. We helped them all 3 get away from the vehicle. The lady in the rear seat was over 85 years old. One of the others brought blankets, so they wrapped up to stay warm until medics arrived. The one who called 911 explained the situation & what would be needed for extraction. They had to winch them up the mountain with cables in those sled stretchers. They had to be carried some distance. All 3 people were ok, as far as I know. The trek back up the mountain was VERY difficult, & seemed twice as far as the trek down the mountain.

I've got a CRKT Jenny Wren compact(about the same size as the TOOR) with the spike modified for prying and busting padlocks. It wasn't the sharpest blade right out of box but, once I put a good edge on it, it has worked well. I use it all the time for breaking down kindling, and definitely wouldn't want someone swinging one at me, though even with its straighter handle I never tried throwing it.

@@RP-ks6ly Don't get me wrong, I'd love a few TOOR blades, but that $200 price difference equals a lot of training ammo for classes(or at least it used to). I think education is more valuable than a tomahawk that spends 99% of its time sitting in my GHB behind the seat of my truck. If someone were actually going to be using the blade regularly, in critical situations, I could probably see spending the cash.

Fighting/Throwing Hawks are very useful. I use mine camping, the pointed edge can break the window glass if your car ends up in the drink, chop wood, the blade can be used for field dressing a kill. It has a different purpose then a knife. My hawk an essential part of my kit. I'd rather have a hawk then a knife in most situations. There is also the psyop factor, if your in an urban situation.

That looks like an awesome piece of kit to have for those 'just in case' moments that occur. That tomahawk could very likely cut through windscreens, pry open doors and a host of applications that may arise and it is the tool for the job. I would very likely put grip tape around the bottom of the grip so that i will always get a good firm grip on my shaft (yes i know how that reads) and i would glue those nuts in place(again i know how it reads) so the grips stay in place. Aye for any LEO/EMS/EMT this looks like the hammer for those odd nails.

If you are off grid anywhere it gets cold a tomahawk or small axe would be pretty much an essential tool. Hypothermia and drowning are two of the more common ways to go in the New Zealand bush.

As an avid RC car junkie, it's not a bad idea to stick a big magnet to the frame of your truck. Comes in handy for finding hardware that decides to take a vacation. Maybe grab a few next time you blast apart some hard drives.

Hey OG. Another great entry in the Danger Show. Good review. I have a suggestion for a future episode. How about a LEO perspective about what a person should say or do after they have had to defend/protect themselves with lethal force? I would like to hear your views. Thanks for the great vids. Stay safe.

I might be able to do something like that. I have a whole chapter in my ccw class that talks about what to do after a self defense shooting. 🤔

Nice item, and yes very useful. I have a one handed axe/hatchet which deals with stuff which my machete can't, and where my felling axe is too big. I am of course referring to wood cutting, and nothing sinister.... greetings from England!

Because of it being handmade and the craftsmanship and steel its worth the price but for self defense the tomahawks from crkt and SOG and others will be way more than adequate. Start google working you will come up with solid options for less than a hundred dollars. If your looking for an entry tool, opening ammo crates and use in combat on a variety of tasks thats when the really good ones with great steel and heat treat really shine from top makers.

Nice review, I appreciate hearing the good, the bad, and the "not so great, but can be fixed with standard tools". I do think they should have done a better job retaining those screws. Even if you aren't throwing it, it is a stricking instrument and is going to be subject to vibrations.
