You actually don't need that EXACT hand, just a similar one.
You can replace the second simian with a right of flame to get enough mana. And you can swap the lightning bolt out for rune of destruction to just let the wall be bigger for the fling.
1killer911 cant do the destruction becuase the wall only gets the plus 10 while blocking

Joey, I'd recommend putting the black/red fast land and painland rather than having the dragon skull summit. These two lands are immediately usable in any turn this deck wants to win with.
With M19 out theres "Thud" hich makes this comb work with only one Spirit Guide in Hand if you switch Fling with Thud
Thud is sorcery if someone tries to remove your creature you cant respond. Fling is better
Not sure you need the expensive blood crypts if they aren't vital to pulling off the endgame. Makes the deck way more budget friendly.

This reminds me of a less consistent version of self mill, glory rise, azami-lab maniac win. It wins on turn one about 50-60% of the time. You should check it out. Its competitive in legacy. Also this deck must hate gut shot 😂

Alternatively you could pump the wall to 10/13 cast glyph of destruction instead of lightning bolt then fling.
Played a game recently using a Hydra deck where one of them was at 16/16 and my opponent took control of that hydra for the turn then used Thud (basically the same as fling) to cast my own 16/16 creature against me as damage and hit me with a 4/4 flying that I couldn't block on the same turn.
Since I wanted to keep it under 60$, I ordered 4 temple of malice’s instead of the blood crypt because they are 75 cents a piece rather then 15$ a piece
I once built a first turn win deck using Sutured Ghoul + 2 Death's Shadows. You basically put them in your graveyard with Buried Alive and 2 Dark Rituals. Then you bring the ghoul to battle with Shallow Grave. It's 26/26 hasted and has trample.
I like to use Fire Covenant and Mogg Maniac for quick and easy win
There is a better way with a different hand were you can win on THE FIRST TURN OF THE GAME! You start first with only 7 cards in hand. 1st card play Swamp, 2nd card play Dark Ritual, 3rd card play second Dark Ritual off of 3 mana leaving 2 left but adding 3 to total 5. 4th card play Wall of Blood leaving 2 left and pay 17 or 19 life doesnt matter. 5th card play Rite of Consumption gaining all your life back now you are at 20 and opponent is at 1. 6th card Simian Spirit Guide to cast your 7th card Lightning Bolt for the Win. Stand up thank everyone and smile. No need to go second and allow for anything from your opponent. Boom! a true first turn win. Edit: Why don't you replace Fling with Thud? Would make it faster.
Sideboard some combination of: pact of the titan, pact of negation, tormodd crypt, ad nauseum, mana morphose, street wraith, gitaxian probe
Is there a way I can get these cards in bundles? Because I've been looking at buying these all individually as I don't have much of a collection and it's pricey.
Alternatively, you could have a hand that is Swamp, Simian Spirit Guide, Dark Ritual, Dark Ritual, Wall of Blood, Rite of Consumption, Lightning Bolt for the same game winning effect with one less card.
i fixed it for t1 on the play, t1: swamp, dark rit, dark rit, wall of blood, 2 black floating, exile simian, for a red and play any buff spell, the higher the buff obviously the better, but only 1 red(or green actually) mana, then you pay life up to 20 power and rite of consumption and gain it all back and win t1 on 20-22 health

Dark ritual is a band card in modern so pretty much kills the possibility of a turn 1 kill anyway

I have a question about Deaths Shadow that I'd love to hear an answer to. If you have a card that makes you unable to lose, like Platinum Angel, and you end up with -8 health, would that technically give Deaths Shadow +8/+8? That would make for an interesting deck, especially with Celestial Mantle, giving a further +3/+3. And if they are able to survive, and damage to a player was dealt you'd go from -8 health to -16, giving Deaths Shadow +16/+16. It would be a creature that could grow exponentially stronger if this would actually work. Since X in this instance is the life total, and it is in -X/-X, I see no reason for it not to work but would appreciate the view of those more familiar with this.
So, very, very late response, but if you haven’t already looked it up, death shadows highest stats are a 13/13 no matter your life total. In magic you can not get a - -x/-x, although it would be very fun if you could. It will always cap at -0/-0 no matter your life

As a mtg noob, can you use the pay 1life 17 times? Wouldn't it be pay X life and add x/x?
Yes you can pay an ability as much as you want as long you can afford to pay the cost for the ability. And except if the text says "you can only use this ability once each turn"
If there's no TAP icon, you can use an ability as often as you are able to meet the costs (mana or in this case: life).
I think it'd be better if you opened 1 simian spirit guide and 2 rite of flame, the difference is 1 extra R but still a better opening that can also achieve the desired combo
Thud is a 1 drop fling and could be good for this deck.
You could also use thud instead of fling because it's only 1 mountain.
Wouldn't it also work with a swamp, 2 dark rituals, a wall of blood, a rite of consumption, a simic spirit guide and a lightning bolt.
Play swamp tap for first dark ritual get 3 floating pay one for another Dark ritual have 5 floating pay 3 for wall of blood pay 17 life use 2 floating mana to play rite of consumption then you exile spirit guide to gain the red and cast lightning bolt. And since that is 7 cards you could get that opening hand.

My cheaper turn two win deck was draw a bond of agony and one cost black creature or red creature then attack for 1 then pay 19 life for bond of agony beforehand and if an opponent doesn't have a counter for one Mana or one cost creature of their own then that's game.

Mono black 4 card win. Swamp for a dark ritual 2 black for a sign in blood to make your opponent draw 2 and lose 2 then 1 more black for a Bond of Agony pay 18 life. You win the game with 2 life left
You must also pay 20 mana for the bond of agony.

Funny i use wall of blood/fling combo for a long time now in one of my fundecks. Its fast but pretty dangerous (like channel)
Nice deck, pretty strong, but im not sure its good enough for legacy (which would be the format with dark ritual i guess.) Your deck is even more consistent than i thought, but im still not sure about running ball lightning and firecat in there. maybe duress and manamorphose is an better option... shrinks your deck, might fix the need for one swamp problem and duress might remove the countermeasures of your enemy. But Death shadow and the wall instant sounds like a good choise.

Since you are using Legacy cards (at least I believe Dark Ritual is Legacy) why not use cards like Infernal Plunge, Desperate Ritual, Seething Song, Priest of Gix and Urabrask, Overeager Apprentice, Cabal Ritual, and Phyrexian Alter to generate way more mana?
could always just make it a turn two win when you have to block for more safety, and if they try to remove the wall, the lighting strike fling combo
could you do budget Mono Red or Red/Green Dragon deck profile? Or Red/Black as too maybe?

That would be awesome until a control player lets everything resolve... until the fling and they force of will your fling. Now you have 3 life, no creature, and no cards in hand. Bahaha!! It does seem legit for a kitchen table deck though. And I’ll probably build it. Thanks for the fun deck idea!
Is Dark Ritual legal to use?
I thought you had to be able to tap a creature to sacrifice it. If that is the case, you couldn't sacrifice the wall unless you gave it haste. If the rules have changed (I haven't played Magic in a while, so) then I would stand corrected.
I've played magic for about 20 years. I don't recall that ever being a rule. I guess it may have been in the very early years but I don't think it was. There used to be a rule about artifacts being "off" when they were tapped or something like that but I don't think it had to do with sacrificing.
I will add 1 mountain to my mountain pool.
I prefer my and friends build of gryos breach can go off turn 1-5 and if you get turn one you dont need draw and have a extra card. But this i a neat deck

It's not a tap abillity meaning you can stack it as many times as your mana/ life total allows you to.
Thud is just 1 Red instead of fling if you don't care about the instant speed
Pay 1 life, exile Gitaxian Probe from hand instead of paying Force of Will's mana cost, counter Fling. Untap, draw, land drop, Dark Ritual, Tendrils of Agony, game.
This is a great way to win but honestly there is like maybe a 1% chance you will get this combo up and running

Eh. Any deck running street wraith would definitely be better off with git probe, but the difference is fairly minor, all things considered.

My one friend has a deck that wins on turn 2/3 every time... This is almost exactly his deck lol
Saying you need that exact hand is inaccurate, especially since its not even the most optimal for the deck. And you can win with only seven cards, not eight. Swamp, 2x Dark Ritual, Simian Spirit Guide, Rune of Destruction and the black fling, forgot the name. That way you can stay at a comfortable 10 life, and win before your opponent even gets mana.
The deck is weak to Path to Exile, but strong against other strong removal spells. If you have mana for fling and you are ahead on life, dont try to blast him before he taps out. If he taps his mana to remove the Wall, simply play the combo on the stack. Also remember that they cant respond to fling with a removal spell, so you really dont have to worry about anything but counterspells.
Neat deck, a good explanation for newer players, but you tend to say stuff that is simply wrong. Like “adding mountain to the mana pool” or “you need to go second with this exact hand”. You seem to be a good source for newer players, but misinformation is bad.
U should run thud instead of fling because it cost 1 less mana then fling

Someone threatens and taunts me with thier side of the board being the biggest and the baddest with big creatures with almost every single effect on each of thier creatures. For me I ask that person if I can play base ball with my blood wall with fling and bolt them and watch them cry in 1 turn
