    You should do a Patreon class for the workbench. This was an excellent overwiew.

    This is amazing. I can hardly believe this is real. Just getting into CAD and discovering this is mind blowing. Question: is there a template for floyd rose routing? Thank you!

      @mnesarcox  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you. This is a work in progress project, there are many things that needs to be fixed and many features pending. I don't have a template for FRB but it should be easy to it in svg. You just need to draw paths for back and front routing and annotate them with depth values. github.com/mnesarco/MarzWorkbench/wiki/Custom-Shapes

      @@mnesarcox Thank you for your fast reply! I'm very new to this and looking at your page now. Am I right to think that you can add tags to lines/contours in Inkscape? I saw the example and thought that maybe it was color coded - like, orange equals a certain depth and green is a different depth.

      @@mnesarcox Thank you so much for holding my hand through this process. Last question (for now, no promises haha). I have figured out how to get the nut the right size (for an 8 string Floyd Rose locking nut) but I'm having issues getting the heel of the fretboard the right width. I my design is for 80mm at he heel of the fretboard. I've entered the string spacing in the bridge parameter but the result is just 75mm Am I missing something? And I am going to look for a digital tip jar because I am super grateful.

    I've been playing with your workbench for a few weeks now, and I have to thank you for your great work. I have a question however. I would like to start with only making a body by CNC and buy a pre made neck like a fender neck. I would like to shape the neck pocket to take a fender neck. The very end end of the Fender neck has a radius after the last fret. So instead of a square end to the neck pocket it needs to have a matching radius. I didn't see any way of creating this neck pocket shape. - Have you any suggestions?

    • @mnesarcox
      @mnesarcox  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, it does not support rounded neck pocket yet. Maybe you can generate a smaller neck pocket and then subtract your own rounded block from the body.

      @@mnesarcox ahh yes I got that figured out...but thanks anyway. I am however strugling a little with the geting the electrtic herald files to work well with the inkscape addon. I mean the exports I make with it does not seem to work correctly with the freecad addon. Pockets are not drawn and the Freecad addon seems to wants cutaways direction part in millimeters where the inkscape addon wants it in angles. But maybe the inkscape addon have not been updated lately?

    Very interesting, will definitely use this in next build. One question, is it possible to make a through body neck with this workbench, or do I have to add that myself in freecad?

      Neck Through is not implemented. You can create the neck and the fuse it with a block for the thru part.

Make sure you have a path with id=contour", I do have the id down as contour and i have tried everything i can think of(which is not much) and i can not find any videos or pages that tell you have to fix it or change it, can someone please help me?

      @@mnesarcox I read and tried to copy your XML as far as mid line, now i am getting a message saying "contour path and mid-line path must intersect where the neck will be anchored" i do have both intersecting where the neck pocket is, I'm not sure what to do with it and how to fix it, the custom shapes link you sent me is helpful but i doesn't really explain how to go through the process, I know life can be busy but is there anyway you can make a video explaining how to do this,(take a custom guitar shape and modify the XML and how to put that into FreeCAD) that whole process you will be the first to ever make a video describing how to do any of that. I love the program im just having trouble with the inkscape part, you mentioned it in the video but you didnt show us how to make and edit the XML and everything getting it from inkscape to FreeCAD
