      I just got mine. It's very buggy. You have to turn motor 2 on and off every time you switch from the handles to the fiz unit. Speaking with Titla tomorrow to get this resolved. But if you read through the nucles m facebook group there are many issues.

      Well if she didn't hide her face she'd have more subscribers. But she has a good voice so maybe she has a face for radio?

    • @overnightclassic2
      @overnightclassic2 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @PRIVATE PRIMATE It's not the fact that she doesn't show her face on video. It's the fact that her face is basically nonexistent on the internet. How do you run a video production business without having a profile picture somewhere on your website so clients know what you look like when meeting?
      From the very few pictures I can find of her (I'm good at looking around on the internet) her face is mostly half-hidden. And trust me, she definitely has a face for radio (if you know what I mean lol).

    Nice Lady! I have a Portkeys LH5P. With it, I can fully control my bmpcc 4k. I have discovered the monitor has a USB port with enough voltage to operate the variable ND filter motor for the Tilta Mirage matt box, which I have linked to the zoom commands in my Nucleus M. This is my motor 3 and I don't need a battery in that little motor anymore. I have a Meike 25mm lens, so the zoom channel was available. My second discovery was awesome too. The monitor is a mirror of all bmpcc 4k menus, so it includes REC and Stop functions. Despite the scepticism from Portkeys sellers, I connected my 7-pin Lemo right-handle top connector to the 5-pin Lemo in the Portkeys and now I can trigger recording from both the fiz unit and the handles so it is awesome. Rec goes from the handle to the monitor and from the monitor to the camera. No latency! I just wanted to share this tip. Take care.

      Hi, you setup the grips the exact same way as the hand unit. Double-click to get into the menu. Choose what knob (they call it a know but it can be the front dial) that you want to link to the motor. So front right dial (knob) is motor 1 (for focus etc). Make sure they are on the right channel to change the settings of that motor and you're ready to go.

    Awesome vid, although I do wonder; how comfortable is it to operate the rig as you have the handles mounted directly onto the studio handle grip bridge, I would have though it'd be more comfortable if you mounted the handles on a pair of adjustable extendable arms that attaches to the grip bridge....
    Thoughts?

    • @NiceladyproductionsCanada
      @NiceladyproductionsCanada  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find it comfortable to have the handles mounted to the rods because I like my elbows to rest against my torso when shooting handheld with a shoulder rig for more stability. Extendable arms would be great too. I think it depends how long your arms are and what should rig you use.

    Great video! VERY helpful. With the issue with the 70-200 (around 10:40), do you think it's because of how tight that particular ring is? I have that exact same lens and the zoom ring is a pain to turn.

    • @NiceladyproductionsCanada
      @NiceladyproductionsCanada  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm. I wouldn't think it would be the reason. Most people say it's best to put pressure when first calibrating. I also think rigging it so the gears are below or above the lens really helps. Tilta just announced a new firmware will address the high torque issue.

    • @robertniessner554
      @robertniessner554 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      When working with the DJI Focus I had the same problem. To me it seems that the torque is so strong that it bends the rod away (if the the rod is not fixed with a second clamp at the front end to the other rod) and/or it bends the lens away - especially on EF mounts. I have no PL mounts to test but I think those are less prone to unwanted movement. For the best of my lenses I do always use manual calibration even when the lens has hard stops.

      The key is to keep whatever is running at the same frequency a bit away from the motor, there are also 15 channels to choose from. I purposely bought a Cinegears wireless transmitter that runs on a higher frequency to make sure I wouldn’t have issues.

    Great Review, I'd love to implement this system on our stationary camera rig, but we actually don't need the wireless feature and the battery workflow. We have power close to our rig. Is it somehow possible to use the Tilta system with ac adapters or something else but just not wireless? I really love the build quality of the Tilta, but the wireless feature and the batteries are a huge nogo for us. Just complicates the workflow pretty much. And we have a lot of wireless microphones on stage, thats why i try to avoid other wireless systems and want to go as wired as possible with the other gear.

      Hi. If you don't need to pull focus wirelessly try going with a manual follow focus. The Bright Tangerine Revolvr is my favourite and I've done a review of it.

      @@NiceladyproductionsCanada Hi very appreciate the fast reply. The Tangerine seems to be a nice alternative for non-motorized systems. But our cam op uses very long pan arms on the tripod. So the Revolvr is just a way we can't accomplish at our setup.
      I've been researching 2 months now, but it seems like theres no Tilta-Way solution with just a wired system. Even I somehow just can't believe, but i feel there won't be a satisfying solutions for our needs :-(
