I didn't remember seeing this group last year but I saw them this past weekend in their performance it was so cool! I loved the horses masks! They were gorgeous!
Lisa Plambeck Agreed. And none of the breeds you mentioned need all of the heavy costuming/ornamentation that are 'showcased' in this show. Let the beauty & movement of the horses shine through with simple riding gear (whether English or western) and riders' clothing.

Agreed. I spotted only two riders who seemed to have any finesse or knowledge about how to ride correctly in a dressage saddle with double bridles. I felt sorry for the horses under the other riders.
Jillian Amoro Yours is a fair comment. It has become so trendy & fashionable to use Friesians that the horses' natural movement & abilities are often no longer showcased. The "riders" in this demonstration are so ostentatiously costumed (including the horses' headgear) that it completely detracts from the horses. If they're lucky, the audience will be so distracted by the ridiculous outfits, we won't notice the riders don't have to do anything that requires them to do more than run the horses around the arena.
I know they are just doing a bunch of patterns but I love this because of how the horses gaits are so nice and the costumes are beautiful

In my opinion, Friesians are among the most beautiful breeds of horses in the world, along with Arabians, Andalusians, Lipizanners and Gypsy Vanners
