Thanks very much for this reaction Sarah. Emmylou Harris has been a huge part of my musical journey for the past 40+ years and this tribute by First Aid Kit was so joyful (and tearful) to watch. I first saw this video a few years ago and it was my introduction to First Aid Kit and was the impetus for me to do a much deeper dive into their music. For being such a young duo they have quite an extensive discography and they're two terrific young ladies and fine singer/songwriters, Emmylou was understandably touched by this wonderful performance. Cheers from Ontario, Canada!
That was a beautiful reaction. Thanks. Hadn't Emmylou been sitting next to the king of Sweden, she would have stood up and applauded these wonderous girls.
And if that's not enough for you, listen to "Golden Memories & Silver Tears" (December 1974) - performed by Jim Reeves for RCA Records. Arranged and Conducted by D. Bergen White. This is the one that will make you feel this good.
If you want more First Aid Kit you could try something from their latest album Palomino. Maybe "Ready To Run", or one of their most played hits (besides Emmylou) " The Lion's Roar" Official video, or live at Glastonbury
Emmylou Harris is one of the most recorded Voices in music she first became know for her duets with Gram Parsons who died shortly after from a drug overdose.
Emmylou & Gram were in love as she confirmed; just like Linda Rondstadt & Lowell George were /each other; both couples heavenly & gifts from and for our BOOMER Generation. Plus Emmylou, amongst most of my generation, w/her grey hair gets even more beautiful in her age!!
Her tears are so real, can feel her memories of Gram flowing through her soul as she remembers her true love when he was still alive in the '70; my tears flowing too.
Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction. That was a very beautiful and emotional performance. May I please recommend that you give Emmylou a listen. My personal favorites are "Boulder to Birmingham" and "Red Dirt Girl".
You look even more beautiful without those silly wigs. No makeup, you are a natural beauty. Your kind heart shows through too that your beauty is more than skin deep. You tell Mr. Dengler that he is a lucky man. :)
❤Finest reaction ever. Maybe you will like" Knowing me, knowing you", by ABBA, too? Big hugs and greetings from Jonas Gothenburg Sweden. Ps. From what country are you from?
Very moving, but what about the lady herself? This song is about the ache of loving and losing someone: th-cam.com/video/Klh7sAv9hu4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZknkkUSOBgF05KPq
Very nice to see you Sarah during the performance. You looked so genuine and natural I almost had more attention on you then the singers. lovely Sarah!

Emmy Lou Harris was a great singer/songwriter. Nice tribute to her.
Was? Last time I checked she was still alive and kickin’…
That's one beautiful country song
Emmylou Harris is so good. One of my favorites is Boulder to Birmingham, a beautiful song built from a very sad backstory.
They also do a cover of Emmylou's "Red Dirt Girl" that is just staggering
The man beside Emmylou is the Swedish King
They did the same thing with Paul Simon, when he was awarded the Polar Music Prize.
Next to Emmy Lou is the King of Sweden
Thank you Sarah

The man sitting beside one of the queens of country is the actual king of Sweden.

First Aid Kit is great, but it's kind of absurd that the best country music is now made by the Swedes.

Like EmmyLou. Hate country music, just hate it.
I like her music. Love country music. Just every minute of it.
