as someone from africa, where zebras are actually from, i can confirm, alec is saying it correctly.
It's a tautology, you say 'zehbrah' because they say 'zehbrah'. The word is actually Italian/Portuguese and is/was originally pronounced with a long 'e'. Not that Americans are striving for historical accuracy to the Portuguese origin.

Just a thought, it might be interesting to see some of the more logistical parts of the workshop. I’m sure you guys aren’t just a bunch of kids playing games around fire and dangerous tools. Teach us how you use the equipment safely. My thoughts on this started thinking about how you were just a wee lad when you started and I’m sure you’ve had to learn many times “don’t touch the glowing red things”

It’s JAMIE!! I was beginning to wonder if we’d ever see him again. It’s been a while, and I’m probably more excited than I should be.
Lovely job on all the editing, Jamie. And that is a very neat piece of craftsmanship to show off in one video as well. It's nice to have these one-shot style videos every so often in between the bigger builds.

Your editor is a really nice guy very humble. Great knife and a really hope he gets to take it home with him. I know UK laws are weird about knives.
He’ll be able to post it home and at that size it’s legal to own. We aren’t allowed to carry knives in public unless they are being carried to / from work or are an integral part of our job. We had / have a small knife crime problem so the laws are really centred around having them in public. Perfectly fine for him to have it at home, I’ve got bigger knives in my kitchen here in Buxton, England. 😀

I love channels where the crew not only makes awesome stuff, but we get to see them hang out and have fun too. Like, it's not just stuff in the shop then you all wander off to your seperate lives, you really are all friends and have good times outside the shop too. Stuff like that is great IMO
"But Jamie still needs to make a proper knife" Was my first thought when Alec moved to the US. Now this chapter is finally closed.
Jamie's silent work really makes these videos tell the story. The editing is such that I hardly notice the video. I am just enamored with the content. Good job Jamie! It is good to see you in a video again.

Editing is fun that way, the video is edited after it is shot so he likley got the footage when he got back.

It would be great to hear more from you about the "organic" nature of metal and how it moves. Forging is clearly not just about hammering a piece of metal into shape. It's more about understanding how it reacts and wants to move. 4:13 gives us a taste of that. Please explain more of its nature as you go in future videos.

Good work Jamie! Alec, before you started the Zweihander you asked for suggestions on what to do next. If that's still open; I have one. Maybe try forging closer to the finished dimensions of the pieces you work on going forward. Getting better at that will save you time in the grinding room (though there obviously will be some) and material (if you're closer to final dimensions from the forge, there's going to be less metal ground up).

Cool to see the man behind the editing. One of my favorite things about this page is that the forge work is stylish. ima be honest - I like Alec (and Will, when he joined)... but the camera work and editing is what made me hit the subscribe button. Not sure if you have the same cameraman as you did back then, I'd like to know who works the camera :p
The new workshop really threw my brain through a loop, though.
When you moved to the USA, you went a while without doing any metalworking, and when you resumed it felt different. I thought that maybe the cameraman changed or something... but after watching some videos again, I think that the new workshop is just so big and well lit, that it gives the footage a different feel. Not worse, just different. Still love it! :)
