And I didn't understand her playstyle at all before this video! Now I know how to ride over my enemies in _style,_ because Warriors Dojo is extremely good at making their guides understandable, no matter how much (or how little) experience you have with the character.
a typical keep away magical girl? since when? Smash bros, especially ultimate. She has a devastating close range game and can fight at basically any range. Hyrule warriors 1: She has a Rapier as her 1st weapon and gets in close. OoT She became a Sheika Ninja. TP Zelda was prepared to fight Zants forces with sword in hand. Tetra is also a feisty melee fighter. The only iterations of Zelda that aren't fighters are BOTW (retconned with AoC) SS, ST and 8/16 bit era Zelda using the master cycle while cool, feels incredible out of character for this iteration.
I just love how well they treat Zelda in this game, before the DLC, my favorite weapon was her shiekah slate and with the DLC my favorite weapon is now her master cycle, i have an absolute blast playing with it !
Also worth note is she doesn't move like anyone else, she has tank controls and takes a moment to get to speed and because of this turning in tight areas can be a lil awkward. If ya ever get stuck you can dodge to correct yourself
Just the fact that I can use her cycle to speed across stages fast and she still manages to have a controllable offensive set of attacks (unlike Riju) makes her a favorite for me. The running speed of Warriors games always feels off to me, just a bit slow, so this is excellent for me

I've just unlocked The Master Cycle yesterday and I am having a blast with it, it's been making me play as Zelda a whole lot more. I'm glad that they gave Zelda back her former attire too. I personally like the eagle and sentinel design, especially the former, since it is a bird motif that's symbolized on the The Legend of Zelda series.
all i can think about with this fighting style is this: someone watch kamen rider Kuuga a rider who was know for BEATING enemies with his motorcycle in most of his fights, went "yes i want htat for zelda." but as for the overdrive, i think it was more so to appease those who had an issue of shiekah slate zelda; I know many enjoyed her, but there was just as a vocal majority that absolutely hated how she played vs hyrule warriors 1
Man, new Kamen Riders should definitelly bring back fight choreographies involving bikes, I like the recents ones but they barely use a bike anymore, even Drive used his car more in his fights.
Ayy, I wasn't the only one who thought of Kuuga. The sentinel master cycle remind me of Kuuga's Gouram bike with bulk and horn. Also damn you Japanese traffic laws

Awesome. Something small but, when guarding you can move in about any direction which is good if you somehow got stuck in a corner or in a narrow spot as the bike tends to do. I am also happy to know that, if accidentally sold or forged it can be remade again. The info remains fresh and exciting. Can't wait for the Guardian... still have to finish unlocking said guardian.
All I'm gonna say is don't try unlocking it on Apocalyptic, I did this and I had to use all of my rods to stun-lock it just so its really fast and big attacks don't kill me.
@@mowerthelawn451 Why would I attempt it on Apocalytic? Also the other means to get around that would be to get good at perfect dodges or use some cooking to improve your chances and with the right character, you could easily obliterate it.
Hit Back on your stick and press and keep pressing the dodge button (which makes you sprint). Turns out you can do an instant turn with it as BikeZelda

I find C2 to be an incredible WPG shredder-just lock on, jam overdrive, C2 into the air and immediately go into her strong aerial to restart, then do it again. With multiple attack speed seals, she’ll have overlapping laser time, and boy is that a lot of damage. I’m not sure how much of it counts as “damage while in mid-air” but I did see a marked increase in damage when putting one of those seals on. Not to mention that because you’re spending about half of your time in the air, most enemies are going to completely miss you. This approach to WPGs really shines in Survival of the Fittest, for example.
Small thing I'm not seeing is about her overdrive. You get even more power past the halfway point when the bike's color starts to change. Makes it a slightly tighter window to stay in but being able to shift in and out of overdrive without doing more than changing the speed of her combo for a moment makes it easier to maintain than expected
You can also instantly get out of the overheated state with her special, worth noting if you're really pushing max overdrive uptime and dps on a target.
The best part of the bike is the cool pose she does after her YYX attack, which lasts until you move again. I kinda wonder why non of her other strong attacks got a similar quirk... (Also thanks for informing me of how to re-buy the master cycles, i was super worried that i'd sell them by mistake)
Mmmm, this looks pretty sick, dunno if I'd switch from Impa to her tho, I just am addicted to the special attack charge rate Impa has but she does really lack that sick feeling of mobility AND control Zelda has (I'm looking at you "motion-sickness" Riju).
The fact that it actually controls like a bike, as opposed to every other character in the game that can turn on a dime, it threw me off quite a bit, but I'll admit speeding around and ramming into crowds of enemies is growing on me.

I believe the unique action is more meant to simulate acceleration (like in various driving games) rather than being any sort of strategic resource management mechanic. It's there to alter the feel of the character so players would associate it more with driving. I don't think they overlooked a lack of drawback to the unique action, I think it is intentional to almost always be active.
I was scared I lost the original cycle forever when I merged it into the Sentinel one- good to know I can get it back, not entirely sure what I was thinking
Honestly, the first time I used the MC Zelda, I just spammed the idle strong attack. Sure, had her pogoing all over the place, and looked kinda funny, but it worked.
Honestly, the 3d strong attack, mixed with overdrive and stasis, will always chunk, AT THE LEAST, half of a weak point gauge, even from vicious foes. Really freaking stronk, biker Zelda is best Zelda.
you forgot to mention her overdrive dash by pressing and holding dash while using overdrive you literally murder mobs while running them over without using a strong attack
I found the bike hard to use in narrow areas. I wouldn’t recommend using this weapon in areas where you have little room to maneuver, such as hyrule castle
based on earlier comments I'm thinking about leaving this DLC until wave 2, and perhaps use both to restart a fresh file. Is most of wave 1 heavily focused on early postgame or does it work earlier? I didn't quite finish up earlier, and I think I might just experience everything fresh again later. I do like the speedy characters, and indeed most mounts tend to have some wrickles. In FE warriors Xander and the mounted maged mostly worked fine, but they have calmer movements then most(and in Xanders case, an fancy camera angle trick to make him better) Looks like Zelda both has the speed and power, but has excellent tactical options too. Aside from overdrive, her runes seem more tuned then most characters as well. One wonders if they got the memo most stasis gimmicks got into the way. She reminds me a lot of various bike-fu characters as well, mostly final fantasy's Snow Shiva summon with all the fancy blue.
They got sick of everyone using Attack Speed Ups, so they made her bike come with them as a unique action. Also the Sand Seal character but without any of the horrible drawbacks, kinda of sad as Zelda already has great AoE and power. No reason to really use her Slate/Bow anymore imo.
Slate Zelda is actually one of the best characters in the game, her Magnesis gives her insanely quick boss kills, and because she can Rune Counter without going on cooldown, she can easily force WPGs and rip massive chunks out of them for free.
Slate-Zelda is the best Talus-Killer in the game with one of the best CrowdClearers with her C3. Her Magnesis reveals WPG while her C3 at least hurts it. Furthermore with her Attacks being RuneDamage it is possible to give her +85% Damage by cooking. It is true that the bike gives Zelda a more aggressive playstyle but in terms of damage and clearing the Slate is still the best weapon for Zelda. However, the bike is probably better than the bow since the bow is slower and Situational since LuminescentForm needs the SpecialGauge and therefore Crowds making the bike a better BossKiller. So placement of ZeldaWeapons: 1. Slate 2. Master Cycle 3. Bow of Light
@@hambughrr8186 ...but Bike Zelda can without Magnesis and Cooldown stun lock and gives her insanely quick boss kills against multiple bosses without the Magnesis animation as well. She doesn't even have to wait for a counter to set up for her break as she just comes into a fight doing her combo and wins.
@@Prismark Incorrect, the Bike's laser can melt Talus and of course her standard swirl combo also hits the weak point of the Talus. Without the use of Magnesis she can reveal weak points and while it is true she might get a high base damage as her attacks do count as Slate... that isn't as meaningful as you'd think when forcing weak point gauges. While killing an enemy quick is useful if you have to react to their attacks... if you can just force them to be locked into place you can smash their weak point and kill them far quicker being you never have to wait. Oh yes and you can use a stat raising dish which is beneficial to the 3 other characters with her. Slate Zelda is good if you choose to ignore the party aspect... the second you throw that in on top of the fact the Bike can handle those situations just as well if not better... and she becomes a lot worse. To use Slates well requires the expense of you rune cooldowns... something which other characters only benefit from as a side while she relies on to set up giving her less versatility. While powerful... she is limiting to herself and those around her as a Slate user.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 I got to admit that you give good arguments as well but your first word (Incorrect) is not really fitting. We both speak with different experiences when fighting crowds and bosses and therefore have different opinions. Taluses are a great example since the laser of the bike is great against it but the C3 of the slate (Bombs) give the talus no chance of attaking too and after 2 C3s the WPG is down. Magnesis his mandatory to force out WPGes and if used correctly the rune cooldown is no issue but has to be considered which again makes the bike the better choice. There are dishes raising attak for the whole party but if zelda is alone wouldn't it be better to have 85% instead of 45%? (+ Slate 85Buff is a nice side effect and is not needed to make the slate powerful enough) Lastly I have to add that I made a placement depending on my experience with Slate over bike since while both have good Boss-killing-abilities the slate clears crowds faster and thats the reason I place it higher. However, the bike is faster, more agile and agressive while Slate is powerful but situational. So in the end it depends on situation, preference, approach and weapon mastery. I have to note that I appreciate you giving arguments instead of only "You are wrong, I am right..." which I get a lot so heads up ;)

This reminds me of Final Fantasy 13, the way Snow Villiers fights with his personal Eidolon (the Shiva twins) in their gestalt mode.
That bike is fun as hell, but the special attack has a ridiculously small AOE.
In light of how busted everything else is, it's fair that she gets a forward-facing special instead of an AOE explosion or something like that.

3:08 The Master Cycles (Zero) C1 gives you also the opportunity to use your glider and/or midair-attacks.
Pretty sure the hunter cycle acts similarly to 1H links bow, and can expose WPG if you hit a “weak spot”

It's weird that for a mounted weapon type, the mobility is *really* fluid and easy to work with, especially compared to Riju.
The Hunter Model is my favorite. Able to fire lasers in the strong attack

based on earlier comments I'm thinking about leaving this DLC until wave 2, and perhaps use both to restart a fresh file. Is most of wave 1 heavily focused on early postgame or does it work earlier? I didn't quite finish up earlier, and I think I might just experience everything fresh again later.
I do like the speedy characters, and indeed most mounts tend to have some wrickles. In FE warriors Xander and the mounted maged mostly worked fine, but they have calmer movements then most(and in Xanders case, an fancy camera angle trick to make him better)
Looks like Zelda both has the speed and power, but has excellent tactical options too. Aside from overdrive, her runes seem more tuned then most characters as well. One wonders if they got the memo most stasis gimmicks got into the way. She reminds me a lot of various bike-fu characters as well, mostly final fantasy's Snow Shiva summon with all the fancy blue.

They got sick of everyone using Attack Speed Ups, so they made her bike come with them as a unique action.
Also the Sand Seal character but without any of the horrible drawbacks, kinda of sad as Zelda already has great AoE and power. No reason to really use her Slate/Bow anymore imo.
Slate Zelda is actually one of the best characters in the game, her Magnesis gives her insanely quick boss kills, and because she can Rune Counter without going on cooldown, she can easily force WPGs and rip massive chunks out of them for free.
Slate-Zelda is the best Talus-Killer in the game with one of the best CrowdClearers with her C3.
Her Magnesis reveals WPG while her C3 at least hurts it. Furthermore with her Attacks being RuneDamage it is possible to give her +85% Damage by cooking.
It is true that the bike gives Zelda a more aggressive playstyle but in terms of damage and clearing the Slate is still the best weapon for Zelda.
However, the bike is probably better than the bow since the bow is slower and Situational since LuminescentForm needs the SpecialGauge and therefore Crowds making the bike a better BossKiller.
So placement of ZeldaWeapons:
1. Slate
2. Master Cycle
3. Bow of Light
@@hambughrr8186 ...but Bike Zelda can without Magnesis and Cooldown stun lock and gives her insanely quick boss kills against multiple bosses without the Magnesis animation as well. She doesn't even have to wait for a counter to set up for her break as she just comes into a fight doing her combo and wins.
@@Prismark Incorrect, the Bike's laser can melt Talus and of course her standard swirl combo also hits the weak point of the Talus. Without the use of Magnesis she can reveal weak points and while it is true she might get a high base damage as her attacks do count as Slate... that isn't as meaningful as you'd think when forcing weak point gauges.
While killing an enemy quick is useful if you have to react to their attacks... if you can just force them to be locked into place you can smash their weak point and kill them far quicker being you never have to wait. Oh yes and you can use a stat raising dish which is beneficial to the 3 other characters with her.
Slate Zelda is good if you choose to ignore the party aspect... the second you throw that in on top of the fact the Bike can handle those situations just as well if not better... and she becomes a lot worse.
To use Slates well requires the expense of you rune cooldowns... something which other characters only benefit from as a side while she relies on to set up giving her less versatility. While powerful... she is limiting to herself and those around her as a Slate user.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 I got to admit that you give good arguments as well but your first word (Incorrect) is not really fitting.
We both speak with different experiences when fighting crowds and bosses and therefore have different opinions.
Taluses are a great example since the laser of the bike is great against it but the C3 of the slate (Bombs) give the talus no chance of attaking too and after 2 C3s the WPG is down.
Magnesis his mandatory to force out WPGes and if used correctly the rune cooldown is no issue but has to be considered which again makes the bike the better choice.
There are dishes raising attak for the whole party but if zelda is alone wouldn't it be better to have 85% instead of 45%?
(+ Slate 85Buff is a nice side effect and is not needed to make the slate powerful enough)
Lastly I have to add that I made a placement depending on my experience with Slate over bike since while both have good Boss-killing-abilities the slate clears crowds faster and thats the reason I place it higher.
However, the bike is faster, more agile and agressive while Slate is powerful but situational.
So in the end it depends on situation, preference, approach and weapon mastery.
I have to note that I appreciate you giving arguments instead of only "You are wrong, I am right..." which I get a lot so heads up ;)
