Thanks for watching!
I am currently studying Henry V and have an exam on it tomorrow. I've never fully understood the play, because I can't understand Shakespearean English, but this has really put everything into context for me, so thank you! The work you put into your videos is admirable :)
Shakespeare's language can be really tough to get through; it really helps to see it performed. Glad this little production helped you understand it a little better!
OMg...this is my first time taking a course in Shakespeare. Even throughout my high school days, in the Bronx, I was never privy to Shakespeare. And I was an English Honors at that time. This puppet show should be a requirement. It explained everything soo well. I love you for this. Thank you.
I do so love Finger Puppet Shakespeare! What a great way to introduce people to the stories, or refresh their memories of them! Great job!
+Elizabeth Tyree Thank you so much! It's a lot of work, but I'm really loving making these. :)
I absolutely love this series -- I'm such a huge fan! I just reread this play recently for the millionth time, and I STILL laugh out loud when Fluellen says, "If you can mock a leek, you can eat a leek!" Looking forward to more of these :)
+Krystal Marsh Thank you so much! I'm hoping to have the eight consecutive English Histories finished by the end of May, (with comedies interspersed) but we'll see how that goes! Do you have favorite Shakespeare plays that you'd especially like to see? And yes! I was sad I couldn't include more Fluellen in this tiny production. :)
Haha -- to be fair, even the play itself doesn't have enough Fluellen for me! I would watch a one-man show of just Fluellen farming and being Welsh. You've already brilliantly covered my favorite play, Henry IV Part 1, but I'd love to see what you do with plays I don't know as well -- such as Timon of Athens or Pericles. They're not the sexiest plays, but they've got some good stuff there!
okay, cool! I have an odd fondness for Timon and I think it'd make a fantastically depressing little puppet show (it's like Lear, without the love) and Pericles could be quite a spectacle. :) In time I'd like to do them all, and Shakespeare's contemporaries' plays, to boot!
Work it, girl! Love it!
Easily the best synopsis of the story on this platform - thank you very much
I'm glad you like it! Thanks!
When she mentions the spies "Were all executed." I laughed.
I might be a bad person.
I mean, they are finger puppets. ;)
no same , the delivery was hilarious
Helped me rewrite the play in modern English and with my synopsis as well. Thank you very much.
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching!
Thank you! I am in a Shakespeare class right now and I couldn't get through the play so I tried watching a movie version, the same thing. I was so confused with the language. THIS is the BEST summary of Henry V I have seen. I actually understand it now. You put a lot of work into this! I have 7 more weeks of the class and many more plays to read. I hope you have more of these, haha! So awesome! Thank you.
There are lots more! Hopefully, it will help reading the plays go more smoothly. Best of luck in the course.
I’ve been enjoying these so much! I hope you are well, you have a gift for story telling!
Thank you so much!
I will be honest I laughed at the idea of Shakespeare being in finger puppet form but this was so good and useful!!!! Thank you! 😊
Yeah, it's a little silly, but it helps me tell the story clearly. :) So glad you liked it!
Great idea, i can use this idea to teach my 7 yr old hard english stories
