    Clear and easy to understand. Russel is the best golf instructor on youtube in my opinion.

    Swing has changed over last 3 months, I think I finally understand this swing concept now. My swing now feels like a whipping action and is becoming consistent. I am smashing irons and driver is coming also. This is down to Russell's videos, nothing else, didn't do lessons, just watched Russell's videos and tried different things from them. Thank you again 👍

    Cheers Russell, I'm a caster and want to hit the ball further straighter and more consistently. Your videos are so much clearer and helpful than some!

    Your technique is a good testament of hitting the ball farther with less effort. Most of these golf instructors are always talking about body rotation for faster golf swing speed which I believed is not beneficial for senior golfers.
    I've been doing your technique 10yrs ago and still hitting my 7 iron 150yds. By the way, I'm 68 yrs old.

    Great video. Put the whip concept in play today and really helped my consistency and power. Need to combine whip with a side bend and back arch with belt buckle facing above the target. Maybe you could talk about that in a future video. Thanks

    Yes a lot of instruction is all about the backswing,good to focus on the object of the swing the target.I am sure your videos are helping us in different ways mine was the position of the right foot outwards.Thanks for your endeavors!

    Russell, what do you think? I try to think of the clubhead rising quickly after impact to over my left shoulder. If I don’t do this I will hold off the release like a baseball check swing and my finish will be stunted. You are a fine instructor, thanks.

    This is what exactly what happens to me. I practice with a slow or short swing which produces decent shots be them short in length. However as soon as I try to speed up my swing to gain distance it all goes pear shaped. So it’s as though this video was aimed directly at me. Going to try this drill for sure

    A good sequel to your fantastic exaggerated impact drill/feel, just as the water bottle is a good, and much needed, prequel to it.
    My problems with it are that I need to focus consciously on keeping the left shoulder down again when I do it, and that the hit is now more inconsistent and often toe-y.
    Also, I am still struggling to get my hips forward, head up/chin off chest, spine and arms extended post impact and into the finish without hooking it.
    Any suggestions?

    Russ I was doing one of your drills tonight to drive the right elbow and the contact was great but the ball was coming out quite low? Will more rotation stop this?

    • @CaptainProspect007
      @CaptainProspect007 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Try putting the ball a bit closer to your front foot. A ball that is close to your back foot in your stance will cause a lower ball flight.

    3:02 - Alien invasion detected, but Russell's golf game is so good, a little green martian can't rattle him, so they decide to send in back-up (3:19), thinking, for sure we got'em now! But nope, Russell is so confident that his game will repel these little green martians, he just goes about his business, basically taunting them - hahaha!

    This was my problem my left wrist would hurt because i was flicking my wrist over. I now have my left wrist turned back

  • @wgellis
    @wgellis 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is great...but I discovered a bit of a different methodology....which also requires wrist cock. So at the top, we agree...but here's a little different thought from the top: the right elbow remains connected to the right side and basically the shoulders, arms and hands "freeze" as the coil unwinds starting with the left hip turn. This "freezing" of position remains, especially the right elbow position, as the turn accelerates down the line. Finally, roughly at the time the shaft becomes parallel to the ground, the wrists release. This approach makes the "lag" practically automatic...and ensures everything is connected from the top on down.
    Same concept as the video...but a mechanical swing approach that may help others. Personally, I added 1-1/2 clubs to every club in my bag and more like 25 yards with my driver. The hardest part was learning to club down and trust it.

    Is flipping caused by uncocking too early or not letting it go?

    • @russellheritagegolf
      @russellheritagegolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      More likely a transition lack of rotation problem?

  • @jmm4081
    @jmm4081 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Here is the problem, to really whip it through, people, like me, will cup the left wrist in order to really get that whipping action. This leaves the club face open and the ball goes all over the place. It is counterintuitive to try and whip the club through while at the same time keeping a flexed left wrist. Because a flexed wrist (the opposite of cupped) has far less mobility.
