Ah, that ugly beast, that filthy word, the maker and ruiner of empires - money. It is without doubt a tricky subject. The pursuit of which is often seen as an antithesis to the pursuit of creating art with true value. Nevertheless, its presence is ubiquitous in all of our lives and serves a significant roll in most human endeavour. A necessary evil, one might say.
So, as creators and music makers, how do we make money from our art, without our vision being tainted by that very pursuit? And, how do we best achieve this in 2025? Now, let me be clear, I'm not suggesting I have any answers. In truth, my mind is filled with a nebulous cloud of questions and ideas - more so than any answers - which I have tried to formulate into an interesting discussion on the subject.
My only real conclusion is that we need to be conscious, involved, and to take some risks. Our music, or other creative output, won't just fall into people's laps; we have to take an active roll in promoting these things into which our hearts and souls are put. Perhaps you are like me and find the idea of manufacturing such interest, not only daunting, but also somewhat sordid. The idealist in me wishes our music and art would unfurl and blossom naturally into public awareness, but this may not be a realistic expectation for many of us.
So, I guess we need to swallow that bitter pill, take ownership and be more involved in this aspect of the creative process. This video, then, stands as my attempt to do just that - tentative steps towards promoting my music more deliberately and openly.

In all honesty, I do not know how to make money from my music and other artistic pursuits. I know not if such efforts will lead to a sustainable income, or if these endeavours will forever be a labour of love and nothing more. Yet, I am certain of this... if we do not try, we will never know.
