Nooooo this is definitely Kathy Evans. I saw her on that first tour in 86 a few times and I'd know her voice anywhere. Seen her in countless shows over the years. She's a talent that deserves more recognition than she's EVER been given.
No, I'm not sure. This definitely sounds like Jacqui Scott to me. All of the nuances in this recording are exactly as I remember her singing it back on the tour and in concert. I'd definitely say this was Jacqui, not Kathryn Evans.
@@mhill1455 You are totally correct it is Jacqui Scott, we did a zoom reunion with ex Evita cast members 2 years ago and she confirmed this has been mis-labelled as is thr Rainbow high on here thats been credited as Kathryn. easily done though. Both fabulous Evas with great belty voices. Hands up apologises to you sir. ;-)
emlodik Unrelated, do you know if Stephanie Lawrence was ever in a UK tour of Evita? I know someone who claims they saw her in the show in Birmingham, roughly in the mid-late 80s.
This is definitely Kathy & Not Jacqui I'm certain of it. They are similar in tone performing this role which is why she was probebly chosen to play the role as the role was required to be sung a certain way because if how it was composed, which was to mimic Eva's speaking voice which was quite high and harsh at times. Elaine , Marti,Kathy & Jacqui all had the ability to deliver it like that, Stephanie was a bit sweeter and girly and the more recent production have definitely softened the vocal dynamics and done of the keys as well. Both Jacqui & Kathy were amazing Eva's. Jacqui did the second & 4th tours I think. I saw her in 91 I think. But I think she might've played the mistress previously and been the alternate on the previous tour. I could be wrong there though.

This is JACQUI SCOTT not KATHY EVANS. This the 1997/98 UK Tour with Chris Corcoran as Che and Adrian Beaumont as Magaldi.
