It’s so unfair that Rayqauza was bad for sooo long. Finally got major buff making it a viable meta Pokémon in the master league but now it’s getting nerfed because of Steelix. Giving breaking swipe to steelix was such a horrible decision by niantic.
@@Hertaclesit did in the Master League, but since Rayquaza isn't already bulky like Steelix, it wasn't as much of an oppressive and unkillable force. Even Steelix has some wins in the Master League cuz of breaking swipe, including beating Rayquaza. 😅😂
It took like 10 TMs just to get the two moves needed to a mon, and after building up just two usable PvP mons I always came up short with TMs to wipe out frustration in the team rocket event MONTHS after that I have to wait for another 3 months. But the sad thing is that when a new season starts I have to build up a completely new team as meta shifts and eventually using up all the saved TMs again
I don't get why it is good. Bulldoze gives cover against steel where bodyslam is resisted. Only against skarmony rockslide is good. Sure anti air / ice is nice but I am not so sure if it is worth it
I feel like we're going to see a good increase in fast move heavy teams, my favorite change was the Breaking Swipe nerf. Move additions are really good too, I'd love to get to a place where there are like 2-3 different viable moveset for each Pokemon. It makes teambuilding and strategy so much more interesting.
If you put the playback speed to 1.5, it actually puts some energy into this guy and you don't have to sit here for an eternity for him to get a sentence out.
The only thing i just really wanted was leave (for the first time) the debuff only for Rayquaza. Because he really needs that, he's glazzy so, no problem. Dammit, it was so fun use it in Ultra League, thanks Niantic i hat3 u more than before...
I believe Lanturn is going to shine in the new season because it essentially got slightly buffed with these move updates. Resists most of the buffed moves (water, steel, ice, fire, flying), but does need to watch out for those buffed ground moves and those with trailblaze

Since the "Breaking Swipe" has been nerfed. What are the percentage of it getting the debuff?? Like Zap Cannon has a 60% chance of getting a debuff, not guranteed!!!
On Whiscash, I think I would prefer replacing Blizzard with Scald, with 2 counters against grass types in the back. Also I am glad that Talonflame is getting more flexibility & I'm 100% certain it'll be the most dominant mon in this upcoming season. It will definitely get a nerf in future seasons.
I love talonflame and am excited to use it. I don’t think it will be top meta though. So many Pokemon have scald now, vig with rock slide, and the general existence of carbink and basti will keep it from being too top meta
The Breaking Swipe nerf is classic Niantic balancing of treating the symptom and not the problem. That nerf did nothing but hurt other Pokémon because of Steelix. Very frustrating stuff.
So here’s the lowdown on the Sandslash buff - opting for Powder Snow as a fast move (for coverage ofc) is only viable to flip switch against a Medi when 1) you have at least 3 Powder Snows going into the matchup, and 2) the Medi has been chipped down to at least 90% health. Keeping Shadow Claw allows you to flip the matchup, still requiring at least 3 Shadow Claws head start, BUT can take out a fresh Medi because of the extra fast move damage when building up to both. All sims were done with a shadow A-Slash that has 1-to-0 shield advantage as well. TL/DR: PS+AA gives great coverage, but requires a soft loss to Medi with one of your other Pokémon. SC+AA loses some coverage, but can handle a fresh Medi. Both scenarios require 3+ fast moves and 1-0 shields.
That Breaking Swipe nerf sucks and is unnecessary. It's not worth being used anymore, and a lot of high investment Pokemon will no longer be worth using. There goes my max level Rayquaza, Haxorus and UL Steelix...
Hot take: Swipe and Zap Cannon should be guaranteed debuffs like they are in the main series. Nerf the energy cost/dmg or just don't give them to the steels in the first place.
I agree on this one. Most dragons are pretty glassy so giving them an attack debuff makes sense. Giving attack debuffs to literal steel walls is just unfair

Medi uses gonna cry. All my teams ins great league are anti medi and runs good. Pelliper, Umbreon an Trevnant makes medi users cry too. Heheheh When an pvp encounter is loading, i suffer from some lags that closes the game. 1 month to today, this lag doesnt happen anymore. peace

Haxorus and Rayquaza are no longer viable bcz of nerf to Breaking swipe , I think they could have removed the Move of Breaking swipe on steelx as it already has psychic fangs to debuff the opponent but due to one mon other mons viability is tough
It would be cool if STAB played the difference on the effect chance, that way steelix wouldn't get it the same way as Rayquaza, which would still be good (with a higher chance due to its typing). Maybe something like 15% different type and 60% same type. Could be applied to all attacks.

HEAD. with an update, sure a handful of pokemon are still gonna be dominant but at least it seems it's not gonna be _as predictable_ which has been its most dreading issue for months now. Toxicroak with Shadow Ball is gonna be SO MUCH FUN.
Dragonite can also learn it, the problem it's "Charm". The idiots at Niantic let a attack like "Charm" run amok that debuffs you per turn, Dragon and Fairy are single weak to each move but even If Dragonite hits like a truck per turn Debuff it's freaking absurd. I think Breaking Swipe on Steelix is the issue not the move itself. Breaking swipe on Haxorus and Rayquaza gave them big but balanced play in the leagues.
I stg if Niantic fk this up… iron tail damage is less than Dragon Tail fine, just make sure it’s got really good energy gain. Offensively steel isn’t a good type anyway so it should get good energy gain

Im exited but more disappointed since I cannot longer get charge TMs. Its like we're getting punished if we dont do 5 star raids and I've been playing since day 1 so I have built a lot of mons but right now I just have a bunch sitting there with the wrong move set.
While the move updates look fun, I'm disappointed Master League Premier has so thoroughly disappeared from the rotations. It's one of my favourite cups and it only ran for two weeks during the past year. Ditto for the absence of Ultra League Special Cups (no UL Halloween or Holiday cups this year). But I also get it: Niantic has really screwed themselves with the XL leagues. Few players can actually play them with the cost of entry being so high.
Golisopod does not have Scald. You’re confusing it with Liquidation. Poliwrath and Tentacruel have Scald in their regular move set, as well as Poliwhirl and Vaporeon as a legacy move.
That Incinerate buff + Fly on Talonflame scares the tar outta me lol Happy to see Bubble gets its damage back. Some of these buffs are scary though man. It would’ve been cool to see the Johto starters get another look by Niantic imo. Feraligatr in particular has a very interesting move pool and has been useless ever since UL got XL candy. In fairness Typhlosion is gonna be the nuke King after this Incinerate buff. Though Skeledirge might outclass it because of Shadow Ball/bulk.
I am both sad to see they had to nerf breaking swipe, but I see why they did it. They should have never given it to steelix, but I am hoping with the nerf and the buffs to fire types we see a lot less of it this season

Whiscash, Froslass, and Vigoroth will look interesting in GL; Raichu with Trailblaze would work for future Electric Cups, Icy Wind got more Pokemon, we'll see if Poliwrath, Bama, and Avalugg will gain use of it and of course, A-Slash got buff again

Vigoroth doesn’t need steel type coverage because of counter. Rock slide gives coverage against any flyers like Altaria, Noctowl, etc.

The psychic nerf was a tad high. 10 is excessive. The bubble buff is good help with azu which is good since talonflame will be literally everywhere.

Breaking Swipe would be good at 2/3 chance (like zap cannon), so it's likely but not always reliable

Im exited but more disappointed since I cannot longer get charge TMs. Its like we're getting punished if we dont do 5 star raids and I've been playing since day 1 so I have built a lot of mons but right now I just have a bunch sitting there with the wrong move set.
While the move updates look fun, I'm disappointed Master League Premier has so thoroughly disappeared from the rotations. It's one of my favourite cups and it only ran for two weeks during the past year. Ditto for the absence of Ultra League Special Cups (no UL Halloween or Holiday cups this year).
But I also get it: Niantic has really screwed themselves with the XL leagues. Few players can actually play them with the cost of entry being so high.
Skarmory and Talonflame comebacks
Golisopod does not have Scald. You’re confusing it with Liquidation. Poliwrath and Tentacruel have Scald in their regular move set, as well as Poliwhirl and Vaporeon as a legacy move.

That Incinerate buff + Fly on Talonflame scares the tar outta me lol

It would’ve been cool to see the Johto starters get another look by Niantic imo. Feraligatr in particular has a very interesting move pool and has been useless ever since UL got XL candy. In fairness Typhlosion is gonna be the nuke King after this Incinerate buff. Though Skeledirge might outclass it because of Shadow Ball/bulk.
I am both sad to see they had to nerf breaking swipe, but I see why they did it. They should have never given it to steelix, but I am hoping with the nerf and the buffs to fire types we see a lot less of it this season

Whiscash, Froslass, and Vigoroth will look interesting in GL; Raichu with Trailblaze would work for future Electric Cups, Icy Wind got more Pokemon, we'll see if Poliwrath, Bama, and Avalugg will gain use of it and of course, A-Slash got buff again
Raichu has already had grass not, trailblaze not much better in electric cup meta as fast move is normally volt switch.

I think breaking swipe nerf is bad. Steelix obviously needed a nerf but its gonna hurt rayquaza as well which was only getting viable with breaking swipe
Breaking swipe should only be guaranteed for dragon types not for all these other types that are not dragon. It’s bs that all these other types have that move
