This made me cry. I was once homeless. It sucks for sure, to have small goals like owning a vehicle or having a stable job seemed almost impossible for me years ago. I’m 29, I never dreamed of making professional sports. All I wanted was to have a home to sleep at and a job to take care of my family. Now I have a beautiful wife, and a boy and girl, job, renting a house, truck. When all this in 9 years. When I was 21 I would have never dreamed about having all this. All I had was hope, try to be the best person I can be. That’s how I did it. Godbless anyone to sees this.

I tipped my hat to Jimmy Butler from the very beginning. He made it he is a very humble guy in the NBA. And has proven himself time and time again. He deserves a seat at the Player's Table.. My favorite teams in the NBA are the Warrior's and the Miami Heat. I never imagined he would land in Miami. Keep doing you young man. I love watching you!

Never have I ever been interested in watching basketball at all, but for whatever reason I clicked this video and was taught how competitive getting into the NBA is. You should be proud of the work you do, it's high quality and as someone who isn't even moderately interested in this sport, I was completely hooked by your video.

Jimmy Butlers story remind me a lot about mine when I moved from a small town in Louisiana to Las Vegas after my mother became married to a UNKNOWN "wino" and I chose to move there with her and my three younger siblings during my senior year of high school. That "Wino" stepdad ordered me out of the home for no justifiable reason in the desert cold December Las Vegas climate which is just as cold in the winter as it is "Hot" in the summer. I once laid down on some grassy area inside the trailer court before I begged my older sister to allow me to come inside her home so that I could sleep. My mother soon realized that I needed a stable place to stay so that I could complete my HS senior year, so I was given permission to catch a bus to San Bernardino, Calif. to reside with my habitually unemployed older brother and the older woman with several children where he resided.. So I finally enrolled into my third different HS in three different cities/states within a four month period into a home where I was not welcomed. I was angrily stared at during any meals while my brothers girlfriend children often stated to me that their mother was not only taking care of a "Lazy Man" who was my brother, and that she was also taking care of the Lazy man's brother. I had to keep my cool because I knew that if I showed any anger or caused any problems that I had no where else to go, and I was so close to my graduation. I would often take the "Late Bus" home from school rather than the earlier 3:00 PM bus because I did not want to spend much time in that family's presence, and the later that I arrived home meant that I could go to bed in the upstairs bedroom that was allotted to me. I did not know the family members in that home, other than my Lazy brother who had a different father than mine, and he always mistreated me since he was 5 yrs older and appeared to always hate me from the time when I was no more than 8 or 9 yrs old. But unlike Jimmy Butler I was only a decent basketball player during my 11th grade year on the Louisiana AA State championship team which also won the same championship a second year in a row during my absence after I moved from Madison Parish.. I always wanted to attend college/university, and since California had perhaps the least expensive higher and formal education opportunities at that time, I certainly took advantage of those offerings, and thereby, completed my Associate, Bachelor, and Master of Arts degrees in the fields of Social Studies/Sociology, Black Studies, Educational Psychology all by the age of 26 yrs old, and was hired as a Los Angeles County Probation Officer where I earned a good salary while traveling to many parts of the world, and gaining lots of cultural experiences, and retiring later by age 50 and started living an EXPAT life in Thailand where everyday is like a holiday.. So like they say "when life gives you lemons, just make you some lemonade, or if if it gives you bananas just make you a "banana pudding".. 🙏🙏💪✍

@@nawfsidereviews6029 They didn't fare very well, and remained in a Welfare state of mind and dependency, and at age 26 yrs old the younger daughter was still sucking her "Thumb" like a baby while being the mother of a young baby when I gave that family a visit while driving from a Las Vegas family visit and stopped for about 30 minutes in San Bernardino while on my way back to Long Beach, California.. They were just generational Welfare recipients who had no hope for a better life w/o government assistance..

I teared up watching this. Truth is...sometimes you realize that achieving that dream you've always wanted is not even the end of it all. It's only the beginning. Jimmy thought getting to the MBA was the hit for him, yes, it was a hit at the level of greatness he dreamed of, But when he got there, he realized that that is just the beginning. Inspiring/coaching more people to be great was now more important 🙌🏾 His story is quite inspiring.
