I was in the 504th (nicknamed roadrunners) in the Central Highlands of Nam. Base was near Pleiku. Never saw a V100 look so nice. Ours had pock marks from bullets, brush painted hulls that still showed lots of brush marks so never noticed them to be very slippery. Plenty dirty and rusty and they were ovens unless you were moving fast or it was raining. Nobody cared about the rain really. I think it should have an MP marking rather than 1rst Cav. We had one with a 20 mm Cannon and M60 rear and another with 50 cal and M60 rear. God bless Jim!
