I haven’t don’t nail art yet (plan on starting today) but I do paint. I like to mix a dark color, a light color and a medium color and start by blocking off all the highlights and low lights I see. Then I go in and tweak the image to make it come to life. Hope that helps. I will probably record myself trying to do nail art today

start with the facial shape first and then shading You are using too much block colors. Eyes you want to use not such a bright white i mix alot of my colors with top coat too to make it thinner base
Maybe if you exaggerate her eye shape and face shape at the start it will come together by the end. It’s so easy to lose a likeness. I’ve started strong only to lose the likeness by the end as well. My worst offenses have been turning pretty girls into John Lithgow and Jared Leto. It’s tough to capture a likeness on purpose.
