This is such a golden upload...took me 28 years back as little child again. Great demo of the talent of the Master. The tension watching this that day though...Golden age 🙏
This is the difference between Sachin and kohli , they just cannot keep Sachin quiet like how Kohli and KL Rahul played out 20 overs without a boundary in 2023 final, even if Sachin plays out a maiden , he will makeup for that in the next overs , that’s the reason he was scoring at almost 90 strike rate when players like azhar , ganguly , dravid and jay jadeja were striking in 70s… he used to get out sometimes purely out of pressure to increase the run rate .. it all changed with players like sehwag and Yuvraj came into the team .. but that phase he was always down with injuries
Agree. Sachin is Sachin. He's the Jaan of India. King Kohli is indeed also a special player but he's about 75% of Sachin in my opinion. No one can take his special place in the heart of the Indian people. Not Kohli. No one. For a 100 years.
I remember this game. I was just a 12 year old Aussie kid. This was my first view of Sachin, and it was awesome. I remember Warne and McGrath having an amazing battle with him, but then Mark Waugh getting him out! I think Sachin had the better of Warne over the years (mostly) but I think the McGrath contest was much more even. Maybe even slightly McGraths favour. I miss this era of cricket. So many monsters of the game. Great highlights
Those times, we didn't have cable connection and were watching in DD national channel. But, during night time 8.30 to 9.30 they'll have news (first regional, then English) and in that, during sports news they'll show glimpse of live telecast. I remember, in that the show we saw was 195/5 with Manjrekar and Mongia at the crease and my father was happy the thought only 50 odd runs to get and India can win easily.. But, after the news, when the live telecast started, India already lost both those and India scored 214 allout (if my memory is correct).. 😢😢😭😭 Still I really wonder how stupid and pathetic our batting was, until Dravid and Ganguly came.. All batters, barring Sachin were just plain useless and with Ajay and Azhar fixing matches, no surprise that India lost majority of matches played..
Sachin was cruising to his century but Mark Waugh bowled a wide intentionally and got him out…stumped, breaking millions of hearts !! Sachin was and is an emotion to us Indians ❤. Thank you Master for the memories. 🫡

What a great contest between the two! I am a big fan of both Sachin and Mcgrath. I think Sachin showed good skill against Mcgrath in subcontinent conditions, but he was just too difficult to deal with in SENA countries, not just for Sachin but for many others. For example If you look at Mcgrath's record in test cricket, Aus only lost 2 -3 test matches whenever he was in the squad. Aus lost 15 plus test matches when he didn't play during those same years within Aus. Amongst all the batsmen, probably Lara dealt him the best.
Remember this game. I was in seventh standard. It was on a school day. Came back running from school. Mark Taylor got his only ODI hundred in this game. Sadly India lost. In those days, if Sachin was out, India was gone. These days there won't be an India Australia world cup game on a working day 😂
There was a competition between Mark waugh and Sachin in that world cup who would score the more runs overall. Both of them were topping the run charts and in tremendous form! The other truth was that the fate of any India match depended only in Sachin in terms of batting as the team had at least 3-4 known fixers in the middle order.

Where can I find ball by ball highlights?
Rohith sharma would have hammered sixes of all short balls of McGrath
Tendulkar is not height like Sharma ji
This bro thinks McGrath is of the level of today’s Rabada, Southee, etc.
We’re talking about the GOAT of fast bowling in limited overs.
Different eras. Can't compare
McGrath will have different plans
Rohit Sharma would bat irresponsibly in the name of intent knowing that Virat Kohli will handle it.
Sachin didn't have that luxury at the time.
