Craig subbed for me on a gig once in Portland. It was a last minute thing and I was very ill. He went in cold with a band that is not an easy gig even when you know the songs.
I run into Craig at least once a year at Revival Drums here in Portland, OR. He's a cool and down to earth guy. I also bought an old 23" A Sweet Ride of his. Great guy!
8:50 Snareweight. That's what you need. That's the move nowadays they're a GAME CHANGER. They're made for snares (obviously) but they work on toms just as well.
@@davedecker1042 It's absurd, I agree. I saw them live last fall and yeah they sounded great, John even made mention of the plexiglass because Craig hits so hard. But still, you're outside, LOOK AT THE PA. There's more than enough to overcome some drum bleed. They already don't have him in the middle, he's off to the side. So yeah idk, I'm guessing it was John's orders

Why the shield at a rock show?
Same as any other application, I'd imagine: to cut down on mic bleed.
