    Hello from London. I just bought (Sep 23) a 2nd hand 2013 Czero.
    Has done 35K miles and still gives 60 miles range when driven within the city, if I as much as look at the AirCon button, 10 miles disappear.
    What still amazes me is getting a full charge (12Kw) for under £2 when using in my Eco tariff at home.

    Grateful for cool vids like this 🙏🏽
    Just saw someone post a pic on fb and they had one in the background, so of course I had to go down the old rabbit hole lol.
    Thanks for the cool content!

      Thanks for watching! Do you have a iMiEV? If so, what year and how many miles? How’s your battery holding up?

    • @mSantsnj
      @mSantsnj ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Everythingevs you’re welcome, the video was very informative. But to the ownership, no sir I do not. The only EV I’ve ever considered was a hybrid CT200. I’ve always liked those. I probably won’t be in the market for an EV for awhile though. Going to be looking at an RV for traveling with work and needless to say, a truck/suv. More than likely a nasty behemoth 2015+ Escalade ESV.
      I might as well ask but would you say there are better models/brands that are now coming up in old age that hold up very well? For example the ct200h, I’d love to know if their batteries often stand the test of time comparatively.

    • @Everythingevs
      @Everythingevs  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m not too well versed on hybrids. My main knowledge base is on BEVs. However, the CT200h uses the same battery as the Toyota Prius, and those batteries are known to last for 100’s of thousand of miles. I understand your need of a larger vehicle for towing purposes. In my opinion, with the current EV truck options and the state of the CCS DCFC network at this current time, EVs are not suitable for long distance towing. It can be done, and has been done many times, but the network and technology just isn’t there yet to make it a enjoyable and reliable experience when towing.

      @@Everythingevs totally agree, tech isn’t there yet. I’m somewhat knowledgeable as I work on wind turbines haha I somewhat privy to the whole battery issue we have now basically. Like the storage isn’t there yet and we over produce. As for the EV towing oh yeah, hopefully we’re not too far away from some durable stuff.
      Not gonna lie, the government shoving EV’s down our throat doesn’t sit right with me at all, especially being someone who’s really in tune with history and yeah, I don’t wanna sound like a nut job bringing up the Rothschilds mining the hell out of Africa for minerals and the push to get us tied to the grid even more than we already are. Actually resent EV’s but hey.. here we are lol

    I’m a little disappointed that it only got 54.9 miles before it died. I was thinking about getting a 2012 iMiev with only 30,000 miles on it. Most of my driving is around the city.

    • @Everythingevs
      @Everythingevs  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      In my opinion 54.9 combined isn’t bad at all for a 2012 that was rated at 62 miles when brand new. When it comes to lithium ion batteries, age is as much of a factor as mileage. Especially on an air cooled pack, which had basically off the shelf battery cells in it that were not necessary designed for a car. You have to remember that when the iMiEVs battery was developed, it was very early days.

      @@Everythingevs just a shame the batteries are not replaceable at a reasonable price. Or upgradable either. Lithium batteries have dropped in price but battery packs remain high even as China (were batteries are made) continues to lower prices. We need a VHS standard for EV batteries. 🤔

      An old Leaf sounds like a much better deal. Not as cheap but definitely better for longevity, functionality, and range

    • @Everythingevs
      @Everythingevs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most definitely. If you’re looking for a daily driver, a used 1st gen Leaf would be a better choice. The Leaf is more of a normal car, and much better build quality.

    • @roidroid
      @roidroid 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@FATTIEASMR The Leaf's batteries are kinda notorious for not having very good longevity (due to their lack of active cooling), but this might just be a thing in hot climates like here. I was actually considering an i-MiEV over a Leaf for that reason (also coz the smaller size seems handy).

    I also have a 2012 with 44K on the odometer and I am lucky to get 37 miles per full charge. I do think I have some battery degredation going on, that pesky turtle pops up once and awhile.

    I have bought an 2011 IMIEV with 75.000 km on it, to use it as a second car and maybe a bit later as a home battery storge for my solar 😉
    Didn't test the full range yet but it is at least 70 km mixt driving.
    Plenty for my 3 km grocery trip or any inner city driving

    It's weird that the Guess-O-Meter is overestimating your range instead of being more conservative like most EV GOMs. As you saw, that can get you into trouble! But, I think we have to cut the i-MiEV some slack considering how early in the game they were and how a lot of that stuff had not been dialed in yet. My 2018 Kia Soul EV seems to under-guess by about 10%, to stay safe.

    • @Everythingevs
      @Everythingevs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Typically the GOM on the iMiEVs are pretty accurate. I have owned 3 of them (2 currently). I have found the issue on this one (bad cell that’s dropping below bottom voltage) and am working on a video about it. It’s an issue that can be fixed, and will be fixed in the future. Thanks for watching!

      Happened to me a few times when I owned one. The battery would die sometimes BEFORE the turtle showed up. Had to push my car a couple miles home twice in a couple of years 🤣 Thank the Lord the car was light!

    What app or module do you use to check the battery health? Looking into getting a used imiev, but hve no idea the health of the battery. Thanks much!

    • @Everythingevs
      @Everythingevs  วันที่ผ่านมา

      There are several apps out there that are able to read the battery data via a Bluetooth dongle. Once of which is carscanner. It is available for both Apple & Android.

    • @Everythingevs
      @Everythingevs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you referring to the remote that controls the preconditioning and charging timer? If so, the white iMiEV is missing it’s remote. However, the purple iMiEV has its remote and I would be happy to make a short video about how it functions.

    3 päivää sitten ostin Peugeot ion 2001 76000km ja huoltoasema latauksen jälkeen mittaristo näytti 87km rangea. Odotan postista nyt 10amp laturia, että voin kotona ladata & testata ion kunnolla! 87km range / 1 lataus, onko ok 13 vuotta vanhalla autolla? Uudella akulla max. 150km? Terveisin: Olli Suomesta 🥰 Ps. kanava tilattu
