Best game ever of my youth. When I was 13 my record was winning first race and 2nd place with the wet track (both with automatic shift). Great video, and great player. Greetings from Chile!
Just remembered how i played this game in 87-88 it was very difficult to master in 7th gear manual transmission eventually i mastered it and i dont remember how many times i had the super licence, if you see the video the position limit lowered after each checkpoint, i dont know but the arcade cabinet had changing pads gears behind the wheel in 87-88 then later the first sport cars began to offer that option my guess some car designers played this game?
It's amazing how much better older game graphics like that look on a Standard Definition screen, HDTV just makes those old graphics look far worse than they actually were. I remember playing this game in the arcade, this was one of my favorite arcade games because of how awesome the graphics were, even though this was a 2D game Sega really went out of their way with this game to simulate a 3D experience.
Yoùre not bad but in my past (1991), i completed this game with 5000 D.P. one time and the others its 4900 or plus really often in the arcade place. I liked this game really a lot. i feel nostalgic when i see youre race. really cool game.
its since 25 years its hard of to memorize that but i taken 24 secondes on the second place for it im sure just with manual 7 gears its not possible of to have this score with automatic or 4 gears manual because the speed limit is too lower.
Sega could've at least added some rain to the game instead of just saying wet condition. It kind of ruins the experience even if the handling is affected.

They should remake this version of Super Monaco GP with these graphics and put the world championship mode from the mega drive version.
Yes. KUK
They did sort of. Beyond The Limit on the Mega CD.
Wow you mastered it!
Why does it keep saying 'its the final lap, go get him!' ?
@Miguel Elgueta No. It is because when you go over the laps, it keep saying!

WR is 6'13"48 with AT.
Still waiting on the 3DS version in 3D like the Galaxy Force 2 release. Do it Sega
you need to sello-tape a magnifying glass to each eyeball to get the true arcade experience
