@@Josh-xi6gp No, Ben sacked the Bond brothers for some reason. His music has gone done hill since; I didn't even bother buying his last album and I've seen him live 3 times. Such a shame.
John Ratcliffe Yeah i since learned in the year of posting this comment that they broke apart because of creative differences. I wouldn’t say Ben’s music has deteriorated, but it’ll always be hard to top EK.
@@johnratcliffe6438 there doesn't all need to be something wrong behind a change in direction. Perhaps Ben decided he wanted to more on artistically and felt he needed a new band to achieve that. It happens in bands and music often.
@@bodhid Totally, but you gravitate towards an artist because of their 'sound'. Ben's first few albums were really excellent. That Feathers collab or whatever was shite, and ditching the Bond brothers was a big mistake IMHO.
Never stop smiling like that Ben! It shows how much you love what you do, and that there's passion in what you write! Which honestly many of the artist of today don't have much passion, it's more about the fame and money. Keep up the awesome work!

Not to be melodramatic this song has changed me from who I could have been, to who I am, in a very strange and wonderful way. I hope by writing this, you my dear reader, might change, grow, and be closer to the person you want to be. It starts with a beautiful gift my father gave and one I want to give the world. I had an unusual father, I feel for you to get the full effect you should understand . . . Pop was large, rough, and gregarious. To an outsider he sometimes appeared and sounded mean or ill tempered. The truth was he was the fairest, most reasonable, honest person I have ever known. I guess what I'm trying to say is, when he was chewing me out, I always knew it came from a place of love and correction. The words would be more like, "Ya know I love and believe in ya kid. Even when your being a dumb ass." 😌 (miss ya pop.) Some people claim their dad was a hard ass. Growing up, I often thought my dad's ass was made of diamond. Yet somehow his natural good natured sense of humor would almost always come out. There were certain things growing up, that you were or weren't allowed to do. Lying to yourself, that was a big no-no. I can remember pop saying; "I will knock (idle threat made in jest) the can't out of you child. You need to understand, the only person stopping you is you. You can either go figure out how to do it or, admit it can be difficult and you don't want it bad enough to put forth the effort. But, don't give me that "I can't" crap."😳😘 As an adult, 🤣 I get it and appreciate the fact my dad could make you laugh at your own dumb actions while chewing you out. Rare gift he passed to me. With these words he gave me the gift, one I think you can take to heart; If you really want something, embrace the suck of the learning curve and just start figuring it out. Every day take one step in that direction. Just keep putting forth the effort and don't give up on yourself. Even when it's really difficult. Make a little progress every day. I love this song so much, I learned to play it. It took me forever! Lol But, I loved 95% of it. I embraced the other 5% and kept plugging till I got past it. If you have ever thought about learning to play, I encourage you to go get an inexpensive guitar and play around with it for 20 minutes a day. Fender has an app to help you tune it. Pick a song you you really love. Pull up the guitar tabs for it. There are aps that will show you the finger positions for the chords. You will be epicly awful, (that's what I should have named first band!) Even sucking at something can be fun if ya let it be. It doesn't take long before you will see improvement. It comes in little by little. You can watch yourself learning. Which I have to say was an added bonus I didn't know I was going to get. Not only was I learning how to play guitar but I was learning how to teach myself and how I learn best. It is something you can observe as an adult you never even think about as a kid. Do it. Stop standing in your own way. You know you have always wanted to do "X". Believe in yourself. Put forth the effort.
I can't get over how the passionate look in the music just isnt Ben. Every video I've watched with Ben and his mates they all have the same fire and desire for the song in that moment. AMAZING
2024 and still listening to this…Still the best ❤
Whatever the future band line up may be, these "Three Musketeers" will always what my mind considers to be Ben Howard music.
Now they've all joined together in "A Blaze of Feather." Staying strong and staying together.

This was his best music TBH. I've seen him live 3 times, but his new stuff just doesn't compare to this.
Are you aware of the strokes he had?
