What an impact by one man. Late in the 60’s I sat on a bus to the airport in NY. It was one meter at a time. Endless in the heat. Didn’t understand why. Now I know. Thanks to you all.

In 2022 I sat on a bus to the airport in NY. It was one meter at a time.

Idea of power is so crazy and baffling because the who are being ruled don’t seem to realise that they maintain that illusion

And to think, this would be the man who inspired the Randolph character in the book, and film version, of MOTHERLESS BROOKLYN. For anyone who's interested, look up Athmar Amman. While Moses put himself in front of the camera, Amman was the engineer who made Moses' master plans a reality!🇵🇷🇺🇸😎

I know this post is a year old, but I ordered The Power Broker, and will definitely look up Athmar Amman.

Mass transit versus the car is a false dichotomy; we need both.

I think that in many European cities people begin to change their opinion on this subject. Look at Amsterdam, the bicyckle capital of the world.

Twelve appointments simultaneously, proposing here, approving there.
“... finally, after forty-four years, there was a bit of fatigue ...’

2:14 Add one more to the "wrong" column. Moses ran for governor, not senator.

Look up Mary Whithouse. Britain used to have an offical censor called the Lord Chancellor. After the aboltion of the Lord Chancellor`s Office in the late 1960`s this woman appionted herself as the U.K.`s chief censor. Most of the public seemed to just assume that she held an offical office from the Crown. Many thought that she was an elected M.P. serving in the Cabinet. In fact she was nothing more than a retired school misstress. One of the reasons for the "democratic deficit" is the ease with which people can wield power without a mandate.

Pennsylvania mining towns are rotting due to the destruction of the railroad system and coal/iron/steel.

Penn Station, though beautiful, would have been demolished. The Pennsylvania Railroad did not need the above the street area. Moses has been gone for 50 years, what has happened since to NYC and was what happened better than during his years? Doubtful.

Exhibit A: What happens when you allow a sociopath racist to run amok with no checks & balances and no accountability to the taxpayers.

This interview is null and void unless an objective counter position can be given. How have the lives of millions been improved at the expense of displacing thousands? It’s food for thought.
