Just to let everyone know, when a kitten or a cat is open mouth breathing, they are in an emergency situation and should be rushed to the nearest emergency vet hospital. This doesn’t count for dogs because they pant to cool down. But, a kitten or cat panting is very dangerous and that is their way of telling you, “ something is very wrong and I need your help mom and dad!! “ Plus, when they do that open mouth breathing, it’s due to the fact that they are literally having trouble breathing. If you have a Fire Station near your house, take your kitten/cat to them if they are closer to you than your vet is. The EMS or a Firefighter will stabilize your furry baby. Then, take your baby to the vet ASAP and let the vet know what is going on when you are at the Fire Station and tell them you are on your way to your veterinary and to please be on standby so they can grab your baby and start working on him/her immediately. I consider myself so lucky because I have a Fire Station in my own neighborhood where they know I have pets and they have offered me some great advice and they did have to stabilize one of my dogs a few years ago. He was fourteen and he was on palliative care with his veterinarian. We rescued him when he was 10 years old. His owner just up and dropping him off at a shelter that was near us and we adopted him and he lived another 4 years. I was grateful for the chance of helping him live the rest of his life with us. Ok, I am getting teary eyed now, I will just end this caution comment. If your kitten/cat is open mouth breathing, get him/her to the nearest Fire Station or Nearest Veterinary Clinic/hospital that you possibly can. Seriously. Don’t wait even one minute. Get your cat and go with the closest place to get your furry baby stabilized. Getting him/her stabilized is the most important part and then, figure out why your furry baby is open mouth breathing. I saw one walk with a shoe on its foot. Great, mine is trying to get into a tennis shoe, he put the front paws in, and he's trying to pull himself in thru the heel, the whole thing. Who's going to get him out. Had one do a DVD player box. Took about 20 minutes. Finally he lays down and curled up on his side, tucked his legs, looked at me and closed the top with his paw 🐾.
A kitten can jump, fly, or fit anywhere it can see or imagine. Just love kittens.

Why do these bad Lil kittens always look right at you when they are finished. They want to make sure you saw just what they did.
Kittens don't think their their teeth or claws are sharp.
