    Japan's original country name NIPPON means "country under the sun," but the traditional name of the country when the capital was here in Nara was YAMATO (WA).
    Yamato means "land of great harmony between people and nature.
    For about 1,300 years since the Emperor established the capital of Japan in Nara, deer have been traditionally cherished as messengers of the sacred gods of this island nation blessed with nature, until the present day.
    The deer know that humans think so from generation to generation, so even though the city has changed its appearance, the deer still feel safe and comfortable living here.
    The history of Japan is very old, about 2,000 years since the Emperor's reign, but humans began to live in villages and communities in this island nation about 14,000 years ago, during “the Jomon pottery” culture.
    (That's 30,000 years ago, if you count the Neolithic period.)
    Surrounded by the sea on all four sides, geographically isolated from Eurasia continent in the Pacific Ocean this island nation has a warm and humid climate and is blessed with abundant clear water resources, a variety of plants, and fishery resources.
    Since ancient times, people have lived peacefully with nature. They have respected harmony, lived peacefully in groups, and overcome many severe natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and typhoons, with each other in groups based on their wisdom and have enjoyed the blessings of nature by cooperating.
    The name of the ancient Japanese nation of "YAMATO" or "WA" reflects the wishes and realities of the people to live
    and to survive in this natural environment of the island nation that differs from that of the Eurasia continent.
    And in the names of the ancient countries, the essence and secrets of Japanese Cultures are hidden.

      Hi, thanks for your reply. 🥰
      The three ladies treated me while being careful of the deer🦌. ☺️
      I think that is a very wise and correct attitude. 👍
      Deer🦌 are used to people, but in the fall the stags 🦌 are breeding and they get rough, so there are times when you can see the fight between the stags. (Just like ‘sumo wrestlers’ in Japan, stags push each other with their heads. Haha.😅)
      You are planning to visit Tokyo again in March. Your family is really looking forward to it.👍And if you discover something new in Japan next time, please let us know in the video.
      Finally, I hope that you and your family are having a happy and peaceful time.❤
      I hope you are doing well. good bye. Sayo-Nara❣️🤗🍀

      そして、また今度、日本で新しいものを発見されたら、動画でお知らせ下さいね。
      最後に、お嬢ちゃんをはじめ、ご家族の皆様が楽しく平穏に過ごされることを、願っております。❤️
      では、お元気でお過ごし下さい。さようなら。Sayo-Nara❣️🤗🍀

    • @adamandlinds
      @adamandlinds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice!
      A stampede is a situation in which a group of large animals suddenly start running in the same direction, especially because they are excited or frightened. Definitely a stampede.
      And “stampede” makes a better thumbnail. And that’s the truth of it 🤷‍♂️

    @thegallivanthropologists ปีที่แล้ว

    Not sure what I think about this. The experience seems cool, but the deer are overpopulated and fed. This usually leads to genetic issues. Your vlog was really good either way.

    • @adamandlinds
      @adamandlinds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. I'm kind of starting to really dislike animal tourism. These deer would not exist as they do now if it weren't for tourism. Then I go and support it, and it becomes our number-one video. The whole elephant "sanctuaries" in Thailand made me feel the same way, sure they got rid of the saddles but are the elephants being treated any better 🤷‍♂️ And they are still breeding them for our pleasure because baby elephants are the ones that get more tourists visiting. But on the other side, Asian elephants are endangered with a decreasing population and without tourist dollars then no one would be wanting to breed them and feed them... So yeah... I'm having time with all of it right now.

    • @thegallivanthropologists
      @thegallivanthropologists ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adamandlinds It is a hard balance to strike for sure. The site I used to dig at in Belize, did not feed the animals, but they let the populations get too thick and that was not good either. At least people are trying to figure it out more now. So glad you are traveling with your kids and hope you have a wonderful day.
