@@huyphamle159 the weapon banner is actually 90 pulls less than the og the chronicled wish already gives you a chance to lose to eula's, tighnari's and dehya's limited-time BiS weapon which is already a bonus the only thing that could make chronicled wish work is if it were to be leaked prior to its release so people could save up.. imagine an inazuman chronicled wish, literally nobody is a standard character the og weapon banner requires 90 x 3 = 270 pulls to guarantee while the chronicled wish weapon banner only requires 180 pulls just like the limited-character banners

I have a whole constalation Noelle and even then it keeps giving me Noelles and i just won a 5 star which means rolling back they gave me my first duluke in 1 year. Yeah i think this is a good spot to stop. Over 80 rolls an still no 5 stars from the banner. Not 1. Yeah i think i`m completely done. They need to fix the game. No one has time for that. I could have just bought the character for 10 to 20 bucks. An saved money.
Let's be real they only added it because they didn't want to rerun Klee, Albedo and Eula, and Baizhu only got two reruns despite coming out less than a year prior so they can put him in the Liyue one. This banner only exists so normal banner slots can be kept for characters that sell well, not for the player's benefit. I'm normally not very critical of Hoyo but this is just such an obvious farce.
I believe they truly meant to continue this as a way to rotate character reruns faster. But what happened it wasn't perfect and the community does what it always does and goes on their genshin sucks rants, they don't listen to us and so on. And the pulls were probably low and with the hate they got, they scraped it.
@@magekazin I like to think that about most things in this game, but the chronicled wish is so obviously not intended to help generate income. It's specifically to rerun characters who rake in less money. Granted, not many Mondstadt 5 stars are especially strong and so far we have only had a Mondstadt chronicled wish, but it's glaringly obvious that they simply didn't want Klee, Eula and Albedo to get reran since it steals a spot away from someone more popular who is more likely to earn them money. Likewise, Baizhu was rerun twice despite being out for a year so they don't have to put Yelan or Hu Tao on the Liyue banner, notice how Yelan is getting a banner in 4.8 when she would have fit the criteria for a Liyue chronicled wish perfectly. Likewise, if it was for the player's benefit, why hasn't there been another since? They are waiting for more worse/less popular 5 stars to be out of rotation for a while to put them in instead of ones who people will be pressured into pulling for.
It's specifically the fate point that doesn't carry over. Which we already have practice with on the weapon banner. It's a small, but important distinction to say fate point instead of guarantee, because saying guarantee implies it's akin to the limited character banners, which it's not.

This would make the weapon banner kind of awkward to make. In my opinion, the best thing they could do is occasionally have 3 banner phases per version, like they did in 1.3 where each banner lasted 2 weeks rather than 3.

I hate Chronicled Wish for what it could have been. Like they could have rerun it every patch with different characters. Also imagine they let it share pity with the limited banner. Hoyo does this shit so often, they have a good idea and then fuck it over.
Sharing pity with the Limited banner wouldn't be profitable for them at all, but they should've made it a permanent thing, refreshing once every version with 3 older limited 5 stars.
Luuuuurking~ Funfacts: -Punishing Gray raven has ALL its A-ranks on a perma selector, same with weapons and Uns and Cubs, so they never need to do rerun banners for those. -Punishing Gray raven also throws ALL units into its standard banner, so you can technically pull for any character with them periodicially doing `selector` re-runs, usually in the latter half of a version which usually has multiple S-ranks you can pick between to be the Rate up choice (though it tends to be a 70% rate up, its still better then Mihoyo`s retarded 50/50 they decided todo for not only Gen-stingie but also Zen-lazy). Gee, its almost like they could easily create a MEANS of archiving older units by simply creating a special `selector` for older units so people can simply choose say a, `enhanced` rate up higher then 50/50 and let people burn pulls (probably specifically standard ones mostly) so they can waste pulls on older units and just leave the special ones like Archons, Fatui harbingers and super popular ones like Kazuha as part of the rerun crowd.~~~ Moral of the story: As the CC put it: Mihoyo is just greedy as fk. It was pointed out at the time, idk by who, that Hoyo was being intentionally vague about how often the chronicled wish banner would run. - and when Hoyo is intentionally vague about something, its because you wouldnt like the truth. It seems that the truth is probably that they intend to hold back the chronicled wish banner until moments of optimal profit, which they could control and predict for players engaging in multiple Hoyo titles 10/10 for calling out Hoyo for milking Genshin only to fund their other projects. If they reinvested even a fraction of that money back into Genshin, Wuwa would have never had a chance.
How can I speak as if people only play one game at a time when I specifically mentioned Hoyo's ability to maximize banners for profit when players are playing mutiple Hoyo titles? What Wuwa has to do with this is that it is a Genshin clone that was able to sprout and thrive specifically because Hoyo has been so stagnant and lazy with Genshin. If Hoyo had cared to support Genshin beyond the bare minimum required for maximum profit, nobody would have looked twice as Wuwa- just as World of Warcraft murdered nearly every MMO that came up during its prime because nobody in the MMO market wanted another game.
If they added 2 or 3 more Permanent Rotating Banners: Regional Banner (Characters of one same Region appear), Elemental Banner (Characters of one shared element appear), Special Choose your own Banner (Players can pick 5 of their favorite characters to appear on one banner to wish from). They would make insane amounts of money with this move.
The fact that Fire Emblem Heroes does this and no one ever complained is so funny cause like it’s such a simple fix to a long-standing gacha problem of FOMO being more and more strict and time gated. They have weekly banners, banners for events, polls for the top 10 heroes released in the current version as well as the bottom 10 released. And they also jack up the rates for special banners like when they do Legendary or Mythic banners where everyone gets a flat 6% 5* chance. Stuff like that gives whales and F2P more reason to pull cause you can either make your weak characters stronger by borrowing skills from the stronger units or just by having the stronger units be maxed out completely cause of the increased rate drop.
Good ideas, the choose your own banner thing i doubt would've worked unless you c9uld only choose the shit characters, cuz if you could make your banner from all characters then everyone would just choose the meta ones like archons and Neuvilette or Arlecchino and such.
I got Shenhe on her recent rerun after waiting for what felt like 100 years, and Albedo on the Chronicled Wish after 1000 years (he even brought the enigmatic Eula, who's known for having a rerun once every Amber Era with him). Don't stop waiting guys, patience will compensate you! We have always had enough time - Abyss Sibling.
As someone who couldnt pull Shenhe in 3.5 due to other priorities but vowed to do so in her next rerun, its been extremely frustrating having everything prefarmed (artifacts included) only for it to gather dust. The whole 5* and 4* reruns fiasco has been atrocious scummy.

I don’t see why they don’t have the new banner more often, even filler patches. They obviously don’t want to rerun old characters like albedo, Eula, and Klee anymore and this banner gave them an option for, I’m not sure if they don’t do it again because Liyue has some really good characters that fit the criteria like Hu Tao, yelen , ganyu, etc. shenhe ironically doesn’t qualify because she hasn’t had enough reruns. But with the unknown time frame makes me think this is just the Mondstadt banner that they will run once a year just to say the characters got a rerun. It’s really too bad they don’t at least carry over guarentee on that banner since they make you wait who know how’s long for it to come back
If you like her design, personality and like her playstyle, I suggest you do it. She's flexible with supports and even if you don't want to main the left click, she makes for a decent burst dps. She's also fairly easy to build, since her selection of bows is rather large and she has a crit damage ascension stat. I hope you get her. - a Ganyu main
Ganyu should've been eligible in Blue Wish, like Keqing and Qiqi. Her weapon is just an Amos Bow. It doesn't make sense why Ganyu is limited, but her weapon isn't. That said, yeah, I played this game at 4.0, hoping for Ganyu and she NEVER APPEARED ever since. Not even in Lantern Rite, when others say it's the best time if I wanted Ganyu (LIARS!). So you can imagine how pissed I am. But unlike a lot of people who pulled their support from Hoyo out of frustration... Sorry, but I have way lot more endurance than those guys. It'd take more than that for me to scorn a company.
The Chronicled banner was a godsent for me. Finally managed to get Wolf's Gravestone and Song of Broken Pines. And if I had more wishes I would've gone for Skyward Blade. A Liyue version would be amazing too but Hoyo works in mysterious ways. 🤷♂

Hoyo shoot themselves on the foot by not rerunning characters on a regular basis forcing new players to buy account in order to play their favorite character. It is a joke. Their low sales in recent banners is well deserved. There is no reason they can't put up more banners to match the character pool so that new players don't have to wait for more than 9 months to pull for x.
Whenever someone says they want to play genshin I tell them not to do it, but if they insist, I tell them to buy a genshin account with their favorite character. It is the best way to get the character you want. I got an alternate account with raiden shogun + signature w/ random 5* and 300+ farmed wishes for a measly $20. There's an entire site dedicated to buying accounts and its a godsend.
Low sales? Still being top 3 best selling is far from low sales tho Genshin would need to drop down to atleast 10M a month for hoyo to even care. Yet we barely step down from 30M

I think stupidest part about Chronicled is that you have to use Intertwined Fates. Unless you’re skipping or a whale, you will not have enough for a character, their weapon, and then Chronicled on top of that.

@@SorarikoMotone Except not really Other than FGO, Genshin has easily the worst FOMO out there for gacha games. There would be less demand for something like chronicled banner if the amount of FOMO didn't reach this level. In Genshin, 99% of 5* are limited, meaning you cannot get them outside of a specific timeslot. So no more getting spooked or offbanner like other games which lessen the FOMO. If your favorite character is eula or albedo, enjoy waiting for a year or two until you're be able to pull for them. Also this affects 4*, like kaveh Not only that, but the premium resource gain is awfully stingy. You don't even have enough pulls each patch to hit soft pity, let alone the hard 90. Taking account the 50/50 into account, you'll probably need to stockpile 2.5-3 patches just to be able to guaranteed someone that you want as an F2P. And don't even hope getting your hopes up with weapon banner as now you need 3 rotations (albeit with 10 less pity for each rotation totalling to 240 pulls max). That alone is ~4 patches just to guarantee. If you want to guarantee someone + their sig, you pretty much need to save up 3/4 of the entire year of events (6-7 patches or 9-10 months). And there's like what? 8-10 5* chara in a year? Also this doesn't take into account if you want to c6 a non-launch 4* because good luck getting them without pity or buyable in the shop.
Nikke made me drop Genshin. To put into perspective, I've been playing Nikke since May, and while I have put in just two hundred or so into the game, I'm already at 100 Special Recruit tickets and just under 70,000 gems. Only about 1000 or so of those gems are paid, the rest...free. Granted, while the game NEEDS you to have 3 copies of 5 different characters to break the level 160 barrier, it facilitates this by letting you roll A LOT and often. From Social Points alone, which you just get via having friends on your friends list, I'm doing at least a low rate 10 pull every week. It definitely feels a lot more generous, and unless the character is seasonal or a collab, they go right into the standard banner after the initial banner phase. I mean gacha is gacha and it'll always be predatory, but at least Nikke allows a player to have a pulling endorphin rush often and all the time. There's even a Wishlist on the Standard banner where you select 15 different Nikkes...5 from 3 of the Manufacturers, and when you roll an SSR(or 5* for you Genshin players), it'll always be from either the Pilgrim group or one of the 15 from your Wishlist. It boggles my mind to think that Genshin is still so stingy years down the line.
the 2 requirements they proposed for a char to be selectable for the chronicle banner also sorta walked the banner into a corner from the get go. not only it was "need to have been run at least 3 times" but also "must not have been rerun recently", and this second requirement is super vague cuz how do u determine what "recently" count as. (n im guiding myself by the livestream wording, since the faq post has no mention of either of these requirements) at the time when chronicle banner happened, klee n eula were on a 5 patches long gap since their last rerun, while it was even longer for albedo. if we then use this info to assume that "recently" = "five patches or longer", at the time the chronicle banner was released, there was very few characters that fulfill BOTH conditions, even if we assume, that 3 out of 6 slots would be filled by standar chars instead of limited ones. now, i dont remember at the top of my head WHICH chars fulfilled these 2 conditions aside of the 3 that were on chronicle banner 1. im fairly certain kokomi was there n ganyu... im not 100% sure about ganyu. anyone curious can go and check. the point is, there was very few chars that could go to the chronicle banner to begin with. if we add to that, the "has to be from the same region" (which, btw, this was never mentioned as a requirement, at least as far as i remember), then that banner was bound to not be a "once every patch" kind of deal. they have just too few chars that fulfill all the conditions. as a foot note, i do think this is the reason why they hurried so much to have baizhu reruns so close to one another (4 patches from one another), healers r usually one of the least grosing banners and next time a chronicle banner happens, the snake doctor can directly be thrown in there.
A Liyue banner would have Keqing and Qiqi for standard units. Then could be filled up with Hutao, Ganyu, Childe easily. And now Baizhu and Yelan eventually.
Yelan is in 4.8 as was announced in the livestream. If we go by order of release it means either the chronicle wish banner will release in 5.4 or that yelan wont be in it

I was skeptical of the chronicle wish banner when it was announced but thought it might be good for players who really wanted a character or weapon… then it lasted only half a patch. That just screws people over and forces them to spend money because who knows when those characters will be available again
people keep parroting that gacha is inherently predatory, but it seems the meaning of that is lost on many. you feel manipulated because you ARE being manipulated. they're literally baiting you and, in cases like the chronicled banner, outright trying to scam you out of your money. i'm not saying this with any judgement, to be clear. i've also spent money on this game, and probably will do it again in the future. even if the idea itself is good, hoyo knew what they were doing by introducing this banner. if they'd announced it as once per year/anniversary banner, they might've avoided some shit they got. but they obviously don't care at all about it to begin with. hoyo doesn't deserve your energy like this. take a break, rethink your expenses. go browse some fanart. 9 out of 10 times you'll find your character being treated better than in game, AND you won't waste money on a greedy company.

I met a newer player, who had 4 standard banner 5-star characters, but only one limited one. I asked how is that even possible. She told me she lost on the limited *AND* chronicled wish banner…. The rest is history…. 😅

I think I'm also fully switching to F2P after the battle pass runs out. My breaking point's Chlorinde's weapon banner. Weapon banner's fkd me over too many times. 180 wishes on characters at least carry over. Weapon banners I lose 2x so many times in the 1yr I've been playing for just a 20% more damage.

please stop spreading misinfo about Cai Haoyu HE IS A TECH GUY he did nothign but work in pre-release of the game. he left the game after release, much like with hi3 (david was in control when that game was stingy, aka since both cn and global releases). this is an open info you can learn if you actually follow interviews with the company. in fact - after genshin's release, he was working on a shooter game within the company.
I started on second phase of 4.2. I was very interested in Genshin's lore and characters. When I first saw Shenhe I said "damn this is my favorite character design til now. I wonder how is her character and gameplay" and I'm still waiting for her rerun. I'm so tired of saving for her. I skipped so many good characters for her. I always have to think like "I can't spend all I have, I have to save this amount of pulls for Shenhe". Man screw this. Why Yelan gets 2 reruns in 4.0 and 4.8, why Baizhu gets 2 reruns on 4.2 and 4.6 but I have to wait for Shenhe? Yelan sells so much okay but Baizhu don't. That's not an argument. Even if we say it is, do I have to like and play only the characters who has high sale numbers? What's the point of adding so many characters then? I find this sooo st*pid and I believe some higher people on Hoyo are just ignorant of how gaming works.
i feel the fact that each update gets less content to 100%. i mean, what was that dainsleif archon quest? it felt so rushed and i was done with it within 2 hours without skipping the dialogues. i loved genshin so much but now its just so unsatisfying and im sad that im so unmotivated to play this game. same with hsr sadly. im too unmotivated to even run this game and play the story because im still kinda frustrated about the fact hoyo literally forced me to build imaginary trailblazer in order to kill the grand theatre boss the chronical wish banner was a nice idea for sure i finally got tighnaris bow and albedo but its a shame they dont continue with it. the upcoming characters are pretty boring to me, i was hyped for columbina but since shes gonna be cryo im not even sure if i should waste my primos on her (i whine about it alot but i dont care, i love columbina and i cannot accept her being any other element than anemo) and i would just love to have ganyu, zhongli or hu tao in my collection. but maybe they will do the chronical wish banner every x.5 patch?

They can adopt the expa foca system from hi3 where banners only run for 3 days separate from the current event banner but shares pity it allows for much faster rotation and if anyone think 3 days isn't enough that banner is for people who were waiting for a whole year for that character they surely have enough pulls
Yeah, the banner was pretty disappointing compared to what it could have been. At the very least, we did get access to Dehya's and Tighnari's weapons. Cinnabar Spindle is still completely unachievable for new accounts (including mine) as well as Robin and Silver wolf's LCs.
Hoyoverse realized the BIG boo-boo when they thought what the Inazuma Chronicled Wish would look like - even if Raiden was not on it - the sheer value of getting ANY Inazuma 5* was TOO good for the players - not to mention the weapons too !! (Haran, Mistsplitter and even Redstone - i would happily take any of those !) i predict they will combine BOTH Liyue and Inazuma and then put the least popular ones on it.
Considering Inazuma has no standards they might actually end up doing that. Would help sabo the weapon pool potentially with the shield required Liyue series too. Or I could also see them merging Inazuma with Fontaine which also has no standards but that seems even more far off.

I’m glad this video exists. I whaled a hard to get Neuvilette and his weapon, and I also wanted Wriothesley and his weapon as well. I KNEW it would be awhile till I saw Wrio again, and I was fully expecting to see him again around 4.7 or 4.8. NOPE! we’re getting Yelan again, who’s had 2 reruns in Fontaine (4.0, and 4.8)
You know what Aether Gazer did in their recent China region patch? (China is ahead compared to Global so we'll get this) They made some older limited characters go in the pool for the Standard Banner but now you can choose which 3 characters from that pool you want to be rated up. And pity is 70 pulls. Now the limited banner only gives limited characters if you lose 50/50. No more standard 5 star characters when losing 50/50.
The simplest way to solve this problem is to put the old characters in the standard pool like any other gacha game did before them. This also has a side effect of improving the quality of the limited banner since the 50/50 looses are not so bad anymore since you could get a character that was not in the standard banner before
Placing old limited char in standard banner will enrage people who pulled them before. The best possible way is releasing it in Chronicle or regional banner.
I don't think low sales would be a reason to not do the banner. I mean, it makes the few players who want those characters or weapons happy, and, hey, not like you want to re-run those low interest characters on the regular banners. System is already implemented, so it'd likely turn a profit with the major work already done. I think, instead, they just don't know who to put in the banner. They can't put Shenhe on there because of a dumb rule they made for themselves, so who do they add as a third with the #1 obvious choice not allowed? Hu Tao? There are also only 2 Liyue standard banner five stars... and there will be 0 for Inazuma. The city theme sounded cool for Monstadt, but they didn't think ahead. But really, they're Hoyoverse, and more, specifically, the Genshin team. The Genshin leadership crew, especially in PR, is kind of special. For example, they don't announce through the in game notification system when their live streams are. Just how incompetent do you have to be to overlook that? They don't go for easy wins like giving a few 10 pulls of standard banner wishes for the anniversary stuff. That sort of thing. They're pretty dumb in a lot of ways.
I have problems with the rerun patterns as well. I want to get shenhe, but at this point, I don't have any idea when she'll rerun. worst thing is that, there are other characters that I need to get as well, such as archons. so deciding when to save and pull is hard when it's like this.
Most likely, it bombed because of the timing. Two of the three most-wanted characters in the game were rerunning at the same time, the very next banner cycle. Nobody who didn't already have both Kazuha and Neuvillette was spending one thin primo on the CW, and that's without even taking into account the issues pointed out in the video that pissed tons of people off. IMO, a better solution to the "too many event 5-stars, not enough banner slots" problem would be to 1) put a cap on the number of event 5-stars, and whenever a new one is introduced, move the least-demanded at-least-one-year-old one to the standard banner (and thus also to the failed 50/50 list for event banners), and 2) add a 5-star selector to the standard banner like ZZZ and HSR have.
The thing is, the whole point of the banner is for it to take all the characters who will bomb and bundle them up, without impacting the sales of more in demand characters. It's basically a PR move that placates the few people who would actually choose to get those characters over saving for the META/new-hotness characters that are running before, during, or after, while still paying for itself. That it was going to bomb was a given.
When they introduced the Chronicled Wish banner my only problem with it was that a guaranteed didn't stay until the next banner. Like why would they ever think using the fate point system would a good idea, the mechanic that makes people call the weapon banner a scam. I thought we would get a new chronicled wish every other version, maybe every third version, probably some sort of Liyue version since the first one was Mondstadt. I looked at the Liyue 5 stars to theorize who would be on a Liyue Chronicled wish. Obviously Qiqi and Keqing would be there, and probably also Xiao, and Ganyu, and after that I really didn't know who could be there. I didn't think they would put archons on it, so I ruled out Zhongli. Childe released in 1.1 and was pretty involved in the Liyue story, so maybe he could be there. Hu Tao could be there, but from my understanding she still sells pretty well so I didn't think she would be on it. Same goes for Yelan, maybe even moreso than Hu Tao. Then I thought Shenhe since even though she still only had 1 rerun, she could get one with Wriothesley in 4.6 and then be on Chronicled wish in 4.8, but that didnt happen. Now its looking like they are just putting Baizhu on banners so they can put him on a Liyue Chronicled wish. So I thought that they would just skip Liyue and go straight to Inazuma. Without Raiden that could have been done with Ayaka, Yoimiya, Ayato, Kokomi, Yae, Itto. But with Baizhu getting his 2nd rerun in 4.6 now I think that they are giving us a Liyue Banner again and are just waiting for it to "have been long enough" for Baizhu to be on a Chronicled wish banner. I honestly wish they could bring back the Chronicled wish and just make it something that happens from time to time, just so we can avoid situations like this, where 3 5-stars have been completely unavailable during all of version 4, and 2 of them even got skins in 4.4. I obviously want them to fix the fate point system, and just let the fate points carry over, because the only reason why they don't is to incentivize spending so you don't lose your fate point and therefore your chance at getting the character you want. I have been playing since 1.0 with some breaks here and there, so I already have several limited 5-stars that I rarely use, so at this point I just want constellations for my favorites. Im a Ganyu main, and it has been more than a year since the last time I had the chance.
The problem with the weapon banner isn't the fate point system, though. It's that it requires two fate points, meaning you'd often have to go to the full 240. Of course, not an ideal system. A better company/team would have solved the issue by having the banner give us a box instead of the featured weapon(s), and we could open it and pick either weapon. This solution would mean no need for fate points, 160 wishes max to get the weapon of your choice, the weapon banner wouldn't be instantly ultra-garbage the moment an overly niche weapon you have no use for is the other featured weapon, and would only be reliant on the normal pity, so would carry over across banners. The reason why they went with the fate point mechanic, though, is simple. It let them re-use existing code that supported having multiple featured things, while having a 50/50 system of sorts in place.
@@Axterix13 The reason why I say the fate point system is the reason why the weapon banner is a scam is that it doesn't carry over. It would absolutely be better if it was just down to the 75/25 and if you win you get a box to choose between the weapons like you said. But it would be way better than it is now if fate points didn't get removed with every banner or when you switch your target. Right now if you will have any less than 210 pulls, it is really risky to pull on the weapon banner unless you want both 5 stars. If fate points could carry over, then pulling for weapons would immediately be way less risky because you would at least be able to guarantee getting what you want at some point, even if you dont have 210 pulls saved up for one banner. And I 100% agree that they chose to use fate points because it would require less effort to make.
Well, they did say it would appear 'from time to time', so not every patch. I did think it would be in 4.8 though. Pity does carry over, the guarantee does not and it really should.
Maybe its time to tell some secret. Just wanna say as someone whos f2p but has a bunch of characters with average 30crit value per artifact piece (54+ max) and also have 3x 50 crit value pieces. The technique is just simply grinding at a specific time (😏) everyday for a week in only one domain. Feels like theres some sort of hidden pity per week per domain and time also matters. Just try every time frame of the day ( morning, afternoon, night or dawn and observe what works for you).
The pity not carrying over is mind bogglingly stupid. It does so in every other banner. Especially when it uses the limited banner pulls. (Also I’m not risking getting Eula even for Albedo cons or the hunters path 😅)
the thing that sucks is that the chronicled wish would actually be a great system if they implemented in. not a perfect one, i wish guarantees carried over and it lasted the whole patch, but it'd allow players to get older characters and weapons. while the one we had may not have been a very strong lineup, i could see a banner with smth like baizhu, xiao, and hu tao being better. i still wouldnt wish on it very often as a f2p but i could see myself throwing the occassional 10 pull at it if the character lineups look good. the problem is that they for whatever reason they decided to run it once and then never bring it back again. i hope they bring it back in natlan just cuz the rerun situation is getting ridiculous. even though it couldve been better it was still a faster way of running older characters and the fact they just forgot abt it is sad
The banner is good in theory and could have been hella good in practice. You made good points like how older characters wouldn't become completely unaccessible. The banner system could be future proof, as it runs 6 characters at a time on one banner, allowing 10 characters to run per patch ( and roughly 80 a year if they do every patch ). The one banner also prevents banner inflation and choice paralysis, while still reducing the time between character rotations. Also, if liyue and further regions get banners, it would defs improve in value, as losing a 50 50 would still yield high value characters like going for kokomi and getting kazuha, and even if not, it's way better than another diluc.... but ya if they had just allowed the player to keep their fate point and/or extend the duration to the entire patch it would be perfect! Long term this is our best bet, the 3rd banner would quickly become inefficient (roughly 48 runs a year, much smaller than the current and growing cast) and throwing old characters on standard would literally make them hell to get But ya ramble isnt perfect, just wanted to yap about it
i kinda like that the banner isnt every patch so that theres time to save up in between but i feel like it should be every other patch or every 2 patches so it gives enough time for more characters to be eligible for the banner so its not the same almost every time it comes back to a region. when or if the liyue banner comes out im definitely pulling for qiqi because ive wanted her since about early inazuma, and i just didnt have a good device

Tedious world quests you can't skip, puzzles that are making less and less sense with each update (especially in that added Liyue region), world quests with barely any action and a whole lot of talking that wastes your time... However, the way they're running their banners is the last slap in the face I can take from this company that does not care about its playerbase at all.
as a f2p i'm getting scared for the future. genshin is my favorite game, and i've been playing since 2.0 nonstop, even though my account was made in 1.1 and i quit after a bit. primos are getting less and less literally before my eyes, i do my comms, i do story quests, i do hangouts, i explore, and even then i only get roughly 40-60 wishes depending on what was released that version.
Just like on HI3, they should at least slowly add the older limited 5* characters on standard banner, that way we have a chance to get them....but yeah, I can't see them doing that at all 💀

I am a Tighnari main but I started playing after he was featured so I didn't have his weapon, so this banner was a godsend to me. I think the idea of this banner is good even if you need to have 180 pulls to secure what you want, but at least in that banner you couldn't lose to qiqi, keqing or any other standard banner character other than the mondstat ones. My guess is this was going to be true for other regions, but I think Hoyo realized that characters from other regions are actually very good and "losing" a pity to Yelan or Hu Tao, for example, is something they can't allow. Hopefully, with wuwa in the picture, they will realize they can no longer do what they want and retain their players.

I joined for primordial jade cutter in fontaine... it never came... then came back for natlan... it never came... 100 years go by and my son tries to get PJC but it never came... another 100 years go by and my grand daughter tried to get the PJC to commemorate me but failed to do it in her life time( the cycle continued)
I have a great idea for Genshin every 1000 wishes you can 5 star choose two characters and you will randomly get along with the two a 50-50 but no matter what since you are going to get a character like you will be happy. I have only gotten one 5 star character and I have been playing for a long
I bought Ganyu skin at 4.4 due to it being on sale and expecting Ganyu to rerun soon since when they released Ayaka skin they made her rerun one patch later. Its 4.8 with a ton of pulls in my bank and just hoping each patch they rerun a character that hasn't gotten a rerun in 380 days as well as her best support cause I am as well saving for Shenhe. Now to screw the few cryo fans I'm pretty sure they will rerun Shenhe and Ganyu in the early patches of Natlan to give the archon and whatever harbringers or dragons there all the spotlight and I will have to chose between getting characters who haven't rerun in over a year or the characters that are influential and important for Natlan rip.
The archon at least should be guaranteed to rerun within 5.x and is a safe skip if need be. I woulda said all characters before 5.6, but considering Wrio was early Fontaine and still doesn’t have a rerun… 😬 As someone waiting for Kaveh cons (who now wants Kinich & will likely need to dodge a 5* again, ironically Ganyu the first time) I feel the pain and REALLY hope your ladies come back soon. Honestly feels like a scam to sell skins of characters with a limited time discount and NOT release the actual characters for like a year+
It’s even worse when you remember the banner takes intertwined fates instead of acquaint fates. That means, using your Ganyu example, she could be on the chronicled wish running alongside your favorite character in a limited wish. But, you just have to choose which banner to pull on because it’s not like you can just save up acquaint fates to get Ganyu then use your primos to get that limited character. No, it *had* to be gems.
Literally the sole reason I keep playing since November of 2022 and farming is for Venti and Albedo, I do pull for other characters, bc I'm a collector, but if I already have the character I don't care abt constellations. Also I'm a f2p so I save and farm as much as I can. I couldn't get albedo as I didn't know they were adding this banner, I tried really hard but I was too busy at the moment. Venti I had really bad luck.
Im so glad that you said that this game can be cleared with any characters. The meta hypers make it such that you MUST get Kazuha, Furina, Neuvilette, etc. like as long as your characters deal 1000000 damage, it's genuinely not a problem.

fr tho i play itto mono geo, before that i was a razor main who successfully defeated raiden shogun on rank 45+ with undergeared characters, including that razor. in no way i EVER felt a need to pull for any of these. so i pulled what i liked - itto, cyno, wanderer, childe and lyney. out of these, i only played itto, to the point that he's my first and only c6r5 5*. fully f2p, after 3 years of slowly pulling on his banners. so what if geo is not the best element? its the best element for me!
@@sleeppss honestly to me, you just need to get Venti, who is able to group everyone, and everything else becomes so much easier. One Venti can be run with 3 different 4*s, and all you need is a healer for him to be sustained. I do hope Genshin releases better 4*s in the future though, especially for hydro

Dedication is what you need in this game, and players like you make me remember why I'm still playing Genshin impact. The meta is not to beat the game, but to get 36 stars in the abyss which is the only hard content in the game. You can get 36 stars in the abyss with 4 star characters only but it can be really really hard, especially since 4.7 abyss which really went up on difficulty compared to previous ones. Casual players who only want to do the story and don't care about the abyss can beat the game with the hydro traveler.
Actually there's one other benefit to Chronicled which was the main reason I wished on it- it allows you to guarantee Standard 5*s. I've been playing since freaking 2.0 and I've never once pulled Keq or Mona in Standard or 50/50 losses, the RNG keeps giving me Jean, Diluc, and weapons over and over and over and over. Chronicled actually let me pick Mona instead of waiting for the RNG to tell me I can have her. Sadly with the first one only focusing on Mondstadt chars I haven't been able to do the same for Keq and I'm stuck waiting for either Chronicled to return or for the RNG to actually have mercy on me.
I like Genshin and I will play it till the end whenever that is BUT I Refuse to play any other of their games if other people like it that's fine I don't bash them for it but no way am I gonna play any other game they put out its genshin and that's it for me I do understand why people get mad at Hoyo it really hates Genshin which I literally don't under why

I agree with you. I was also wondering what happened to the CWB. Genshin doesn't care about us, their customers. That is why I I'm now F2P and easing my way to quitting. I refuse to play anything else from Mihoyo, I hope a lot follow suit too. Natlan will be a turning point to a lot of us. I even lost interest on what keeps me playing Genshin, the story. My artifact RNG is terrible that its been up to years since I'm able to upgrade anything.
I am actually grateful the chronical wish banner came out. I was extremely lucky to get the wolfs gravestone weapon on first try. And i had been after that weapon for literal years! I dont like that they only used it once because it was such a good idea (or though not implemented well)

i wiish/ think they will have to do what fire emblem heroes does: multiple 'chronicle' style banners that stay for multiple versions, having more starter banners, event banners, different currency that u get from events etc. theres a lot they could do that wouldnt cost them anything, just a bit of coding etc. like all those small events no one cares about could grant a new type of currency. andyou could use it to get say, inazuma 4 stars . and have a banner for the starter free characters or something. they could be so creative with their wishing system but they just dont.

honestly more forgivable because you can have off set pieces, and it only takes 3 to fodder into 1 new strongbox artifacts compared to hsr requiring 10 for foddering and needing complete pieces on 2 sets

Let's be real they only added it because they didn't want to rerun Klee, Albedo and Eula, and Baizhu only got two reruns despite coming out less than a year prior so they can put him in the Liyue one. This banner only exists so normal banner slots can be kept for characters that sell well, not for the player's benefit. I'm normally not very critical of Hoyo but this is just such an obvious farce.
I believe they truly meant to continue this as a way to rotate character reruns faster. But what happened it wasn't perfect and the community does what it always does and goes on their genshin sucks rants, they don't listen to us and so on. And the pulls were probably low and with the hate they got, they scraped it.

It's specifically to rerun characters who rake in less money. Granted, not many Mondstadt 5 stars are especially strong and so far we have only had a Mondstadt chronicled wish, but it's glaringly obvious that they simply didn't want Klee, Eula and Albedo to get reran since it steals a spot away from someone more popular who is more likely to earn them money. Likewise, Baizhu was rerun twice despite being out for a year so they don't have to put Yelan or Hu Tao on the Liyue banner, notice how Yelan is getting a banner in 4.8 when she would have fit the criteria for a Liyue chronicled wish perfectly. Likewise, if it was for the player's benefit, why hasn't there been another since? They are waiting for more worse/less popular 5 stars to be out of rotation for a while to put them in instead of ones who people will be pressured into pulling for.

This would make the weapon banner kind of awkward to make. In my opinion, the best thing they could do is occasionally have 3 banner phases per version, like they did in 1.3 where each banner lasted 2 weeks rather than 3.

-Punishing Gray raven has ALL its A-ranks on a perma selector, same with weapons and Uns and Cubs, so they never need to do rerun banners for those.
-Punishing Gray raven also throws ALL units into its standard banner, so you can technically pull for any character with them periodicially doing `selector` re-runs, usually in the latter half of a version which usually has multiple S-ranks you can pick between to be the Rate up choice (though it tends to be a 70% rate up, its still better then Mihoyo`s retarded 50/50 they decided todo for not only Gen-stingie but also Zen-lazy).
Gee, its almost like they could easily create a MEANS of archiving older units by simply creating a special `selector` for older units so people can simply choose say a, `enhanced` rate up higher then 50/50 and let people burn pulls (probably specifically standard ones mostly) so they can waste pulls on older units and just leave the special ones like Archons, Fatui harbingers and super popular ones like Kazuha as part of the rerun crowd.~~~

What Wuwa has to do with this is that it is a Genshin clone that was able to sprout and thrive specifically because Hoyo has been so stagnant and lazy with Genshin.
If Hoyo had cared to support Genshin beyond the bare minimum required for maximum profit, nobody would have looked twice as Wuwa- just as World of Warcraft murdered nearly every MMO that came up during its prime because nobody in the MMO market wanted another game.

If they added 2 or 3 more Permanent Rotating Banners: Regional Banner (Characters of one same Region appear), Elemental Banner (Characters of one shared element appear), Special Choose your own Banner (Players can pick 5 of their favorite characters to appear on one banner to wish from).

The fact that Fire Emblem Heroes does this and no one ever complained is so funny cause like it’s such a simple fix to a long-standing gacha problem of FOMO being more and more strict and time gated.
They have weekly banners, banners for events, polls for the top 10 heroes released in the current version as well as the bottom 10 released. And they also jack up the rates for special banners like when they do Legendary or Mythic banners where everyone gets a flat 6% 5* chance. Stuff like that gives whales and F2P more reason to pull cause you can either make your weak characters stronger by borrowing skills from the stronger units or just by having the stronger units be maxed out completely cause of the increased rate drop.

As someone who couldnt pull Shenhe in 3.5 due to other priorities but vowed to do so in her next rerun, its been extremely frustrating having everything prefarmed (artifacts included) only for it to gather dust. The whole 5* and 4* reruns fiasco has been atrocious scummy.

I don’t see why they don’t have the new banner more often, even filler patches. They obviously don’t want to rerun old characters like albedo, Eula, and Klee anymore and this banner gave them an option for, I’m not sure if they don’t do it again because Liyue has some really good characters that fit the criteria like Hu Tao, yelen , ganyu, etc. shenhe ironically doesn’t qualify because she hasn’t had enough reruns. But with the unknown time frame makes me think this is just the Mondstadt banner that they will run once a year just to say the characters got a rerun. It’s really too bad they don’t at least carry over guarentee on that banner since they make you wait who know how’s long for it to come back

If you like her design, personality and like her playstyle, I suggest you do it. She's flexible with supports and even if you don't want to main the left click, she makes for a decent burst dps. She's also fairly easy to build, since her selection of bows is rather large and she has a crit damage ascension stat. I hope you get her.

Ganyu should've been eligible in Blue Wish, like Keqing and Qiqi. Her weapon is just an Amos Bow. It doesn't make sense why Ganyu is limited, but her weapon isn't.
That said, yeah, I played this game at 4.0, hoping for Ganyu and she NEVER APPEARED ever since. Not even in Lantern Rite, when others say it's the best time if I wanted Ganyu (LIARS!). So you can imagine how pissed I am.
But unlike a lot of people who pulled their support from Hoyo out of frustration... Sorry, but I have way lot more endurance than those guys. It'd take more than that for me to scorn a company.

The Chronicled banner was a godsent for me. Finally managed to get Wolf's Gravestone and Song of Broken Pines. And if I had more wishes I would've gone for Skyward Blade.

Hoyo shoot themselves on the foot by not rerunning characters on a regular basis forcing new players to buy account in order to play their favorite character. It is a joke. Their low sales in recent banners is well deserved.
There is no reason they can't put up more banners to match the character pool so that new players don't have to wait for more than 9 months to pull for x.
Whenever someone says they want to play genshin I tell them not to do it, but if they insist, I tell them to buy a genshin account with their favorite character. It is the best way to get the character you want.
I got an alternate account with raiden shogun + signature w/ random 5* and 300+ farmed wishes for a measly $20. There's an entire site dedicated to buying accounts and its a godsend.

I think stupidest part about Chronicled is that you have to use Intertwined Fates. Unless you’re skipping or a whale, you will not have enough for a character, their weapon, and then Chronicled on top of that.

Other than FGO, Genshin has easily the worst FOMO out there for gacha games. There would be less demand for something like chronicled banner if the amount of FOMO didn't reach this level. In Genshin, 99% of 5* are limited, meaning you cannot get them outside of a specific timeslot. So no more getting spooked or offbanner like other games which lessen the FOMO. If your favorite character is eula or albedo, enjoy waiting for a year or two until you're be able to pull for them. Also this affects 4*, like kaveh
Not only that, but the premium resource gain is awfully stingy. You don't even have enough pulls each patch to hit soft pity, let alone the hard 90. Taking account the 50/50 into account, you'll probably need to stockpile 2.5-3 patches just to be able to guaranteed someone that you want as an F2P.
And don't even hope getting your hopes up with weapon banner as now you need 3 rotations (albeit with 10 less pity for each rotation totalling to 240 pulls max). That alone is ~4 patches just to guarantee. If you want to guarantee someone + their sig, you pretty much need to save up 3/4 of the entire year of events (6-7 patches or 9-10 months). And there's like what? 8-10 5* chara in a year?
Also this doesn't take into account if you want to c6 a non-launch 4* because good luck getting them without pity or buyable in the shop.

Nikke made me drop Genshin. To put into perspective, I've been playing Nikke since May, and while I have put in just two hundred or so into the game, I'm already at 100 Special Recruit tickets and just under 70,000 gems. Only about 1000 or so of those gems are paid, the rest...free. Granted, while the game NEEDS you to have 3 copies of 5 different characters to break the level 160 barrier, it facilitates this by letting you roll A LOT and often. From Social Points alone, which you just get via having friends on your friends list, I'm doing at least a low rate 10 pull every week. It definitely feels a lot more generous, and unless the character is seasonal or a collab, they go right into the standard banner after the initial banner phase.
I mean gacha is gacha and it'll always be predatory, but at least Nikke allows a player to have a pulling endorphin rush often and all the time. There's even a Wishlist on the Standard banner where you select 15 different Nikkes...5 from 3 of the Manufacturers, and when you roll an SSR(or 5* for you Genshin players), it'll always be from either the Pilgrim group or one of the 15 from your Wishlist. It boggles my mind to think that Genshin is still so stingy years down the line.
The guy in charge of Genshin is the problem but they are a co founder so they can't do anything about him.
the 2 requirements they proposed for a char to be selectable for the chronicle banner also sorta walked the banner into a corner from the get go.
not only it was "need to have been run at least 3 times" but also "must not have been rerun recently", and this second requirement is super vague cuz how do u determine what "recently" count as. (n im guiding myself by the livestream wording, since the faq post has no mention of either of these requirements)
at the time when chronicle banner happened, klee n eula were on a 5 patches long gap since their last rerun, while it was even longer for albedo.
if we then use this info to assume that "recently" = "five patches or longer", at the time the chronicle banner was released, there was very few characters that fulfill BOTH conditions, even if we assume, that 3 out of 6 slots would be filled by standar chars instead of limited ones.
now, i dont remember at the top of my head WHICH chars fulfilled these 2 conditions aside of the 3 that were on chronicle banner 1. im fairly certain kokomi was there n ganyu... im not 100% sure about ganyu. anyone curious can go and check.
the point is, there was very few chars that could go to the chronicle banner to begin with. if we add to that, the "has to be from the same region" (which, btw, this was never mentioned as a requirement, at least as far as i remember), then that banner was bound to not be a "once every patch" kind of deal. they have just too few chars that fulfill all the conditions.
as a foot note, i do think this is the reason why they hurried so much to have baizhu reruns so close to one another (4 patches from one another), healers r usually one of the least grosing banners and next time a chronicle banner happens, the snake doctor can directly be thrown in there.
A Liyue banner would have Keqing and Qiqi for standard units. Then could be filled up with Hutao, Ganyu, Childe easily. And now Baizhu and Yelan eventually.
Yelan is in 4.8 as was announced in the livestream. If we go by order of release it means either the chronicle wish banner will release in 5.4 or that yelan wont be in it

I was skeptical of the chronicle wish banner when it was announced but thought it might be good for players who really wanted a character or weapon… then it lasted only half a patch. That just screws people over and forces them to spend money because who knows when those characters will be available again

people keep parroting that gacha is inherently predatory, but it seems the meaning of that is lost on many. you feel manipulated because you ARE being manipulated. they're literally baiting you and, in cases like the chronicled banner, outright trying to scam you out of your money. i'm not saying this with any judgement, to be clear. i've also spent money on this game, and probably will do it again in the future. even if the idea itself is good, hoyo knew what they were doing by introducing this banner. if they'd announced it as once per year/anniversary banner, they might've avoided some shit they got. but they obviously don't care at all about it to begin with. hoyo doesn't deserve your energy like this. take a break, rethink your expenses. go browse some fanart. 9 out of 10 times you'll find your character being treated better than in game, AND you won't waste money on a greedy company.

I met a newer player, who had 4 standard banner 5-star characters, but only one limited one. I asked how is that even possible. She told me she lost on the limited *AND* chronicled wish banner…. The rest is history…. 😅

Weapon banner's fkd me over too many times. 180 wishes on characters at least carry over. Weapon banners I lose 2x so many times in the 1yr I've been playing for just a 20% more damage.

I started on second phase of 4.2. I was very interested in Genshin's lore and characters. When I first saw Shenhe I said "damn this is my favorite character design til now. I wonder how is her character and gameplay" and I'm still waiting for her rerun. I'm so tired of saving for her. I skipped so many good characters for her. I always have to think like "I can't spend all I have, I have to save this amount of pulls for Shenhe". Man screw this. Why Yelan gets 2 reruns in 4.0 and 4.8, why Baizhu gets 2 reruns on 4.2 and 4.6 but I have to wait for Shenhe? Yelan sells so much okay but Baizhu don't. That's not an argument. Even if we say it is, do I have to like and play only the characters who has high sale numbers? What's the point of adding so many characters then? I find this sooo st*pid and I believe some higher people on Hoyo are just ignorant of how gaming works.
Instead of only 3 weeks but not long as the whole patch, just make it on the monthly reset timer when the shop refreshes.
Having the banner be predictable and pity carry over really is the one fix that matters. Hoyoverse just needs to do that tbh.

They can adopt the expa foca system from hi3 where banners only run for 3 days separate from the current event banner but shares pity it allows for much faster rotation and if anyone think 3 days isn't enough that banner is for people who were waiting for a whole year for that character they surely have enough pulls
Yeah, the banner was pretty disappointing compared to what it could have been. At the very least, we did get access to Dehya's and Tighnari's weapons. Cinnabar Spindle is still completely unachievable for new accounts (including mine) as well as Robin and Silver wolf's LCs.
Hoyoverse realized the BIG boo-boo when they thought what the Inazuma Chronicled Wish would look like - even if Raiden was not on it - the sheer value of getting ANY Inazuma 5* was TOO good for the players - not to mention the weapons too !! (Haran, Mistsplitter and even Redstone - i would happily take any of those !)
i predict they will combine BOTH Liyue and Inazuma and then put the least popular ones on it.
Considering Inazuma has no standards they might actually end up doing that. Would help sabo the weapon pool potentially with the shield required Liyue series too. Or I could also see them merging Inazuma with Fontaine which also has no standards but that seems even more far off.

They made some older limited characters go in the pool for the Standard Banner but now you can choose which 3 characters from that pool you want to be rated up. And pity is 70 pulls.
Now the limited banner only gives limited characters if you lose 50/50. No more standard 5 star characters when losing 50/50.

The simplest way to solve this problem is to put the old characters in the standard pool like any other gacha game did before them. This also has a side effect of improving the quality of the limited banner since the 50/50 looses are not so bad anymore since you could get a character that was not in the standard banner before
Placing old limited char in standard banner will enrage people who pulled them before. The best possible way is releasing it in Chronicle or regional banner.
I don't think low sales would be a reason to not do the banner. I mean, it makes the few players who want those characters or weapons happy, and, hey, not like you want to re-run those low interest characters on the regular banners. System is already implemented, so it'd likely turn a profit with the major work already done. I think, instead, they just don't know who to put in the banner. They can't put Shenhe on there because of a dumb rule they made for themselves, so who do they add as a third with the #1 obvious choice not allowed? Hu Tao? There are also only 2 Liyue standard banner five stars... and there will be 0 for Inazuma. The city theme sounded cool for Monstadt, but they didn't think ahead.
But really, they're Hoyoverse, and more, specifically, the Genshin team. The Genshin leadership crew, especially in PR, is kind of special. For example, they don't announce through the in game notification system when their live streams are. Just how incompetent do you have to be to overlook that? They don't go for easy wins like giving a few 10 pulls of standard banner wishes for the anniversary stuff. That sort of thing. They're pretty dumb in a lot of ways.
I have problems with the rerun patterns as well. I want to get shenhe, but at this point, I don't have any idea when she'll rerun. worst thing is that, there are other characters that I need to get as well, such as archons. so deciding when to save and pull is hard when it's like this.
Most likely, it bombed because of the timing. Two of the three most-wanted characters in the game were rerunning at the same time, the very next banner cycle. Nobody who didn't already have both Kazuha and Neuvillette was spending one thin primo on the CW, and that's without even taking into account the issues pointed out in the video that pissed tons of people off.
IMO, a better solution to the "too many event 5-stars, not enough banner slots" problem would be to 1) put a cap on the number of event 5-stars, and whenever a new one is introduced, move the least-demanded at-least-one-year-old one to the standard banner (and thus also to the failed 50/50 list for event banners), and 2) add a 5-star selector to the standard banner like ZZZ and HSR have.
The thing is, the whole point of the banner is for it to take all the characters who will bomb and bundle them up, without impacting the sales of more in demand characters. It's basically a PR move that placates the few people who would actually choose to get those characters over saving for the META/new-hotness characters that are running before, during, or after, while still paying for itself. That it was going to bomb was a given.
When they introduced the Chronicled Wish banner my only problem with it was that a guaranteed didn't stay until the next banner. Like why would they ever think using the fate point system would a good idea, the mechanic that makes people call the weapon banner a scam.
I thought we would get a new chronicled wish every other version, maybe every third version, probably some sort of Liyue version since the first one was Mondstadt. I looked at the Liyue 5 stars to theorize who would be on a Liyue Chronicled wish. Obviously Qiqi and Keqing would be there, and probably also Xiao, and Ganyu, and after that I really didn't know who could be there. I didn't think they would put archons on it, so I ruled out Zhongli. Childe released in 1.1 and was pretty involved in the Liyue story, so maybe he could be there. Hu Tao could be there, but from my understanding she still sells pretty well so I didn't think she would be on it. Same goes for Yelan, maybe even moreso than Hu Tao. Then I thought Shenhe since even though she still only had 1 rerun, she could get one with Wriothesley in 4.6 and then be on Chronicled wish in 4.8, but that didnt happen. Now its looking like they are just putting Baizhu on banners so they can put him on a Liyue Chronicled wish.
So I thought that they would just skip Liyue and go straight to Inazuma. Without Raiden that could have been done with Ayaka, Yoimiya, Ayato, Kokomi, Yae, Itto. But with Baizhu getting his 2nd rerun in 4.6 now I think that they are giving us a Liyue Banner again and are just waiting for it to "have been long enough" for Baizhu to be on a Chronicled wish banner.
I honestly wish they could bring back the Chronicled wish and just make it something that happens from time to time, just so we can avoid situations like this, where 3 5-stars have been completely unavailable during all of version 4, and 2 of them even got skins in 4.4. I obviously want them to fix the fate point system, and just let the fate points carry over, because the only reason why they don't is to incentivize spending so you don't lose your fate point and therefore your chance at getting the character you want.
I have been playing since 1.0 with some breaks here and there, so I already have several limited 5-stars that I rarely use, so at this point I just want constellations for my favorites. Im a Ganyu main, and it has been more than a year since the last time I had the chance.
The problem with the weapon banner isn't the fate point system, though. It's that it requires two fate points, meaning you'd often have to go to the full 240. Of course, not an ideal system. A better company/team would have solved the issue by having the banner give us a box instead of the featured weapon(s), and we could open it and pick either weapon. This solution would mean no need for fate points, 160 wishes max to get the weapon of your choice, the weapon banner wouldn't be instantly ultra-garbage the moment an overly niche weapon you have no use for is the other featured weapon, and would only be reliant on the normal pity, so would carry over across banners.
The reason why they went with the fate point mechanic, though, is simple. It let them re-use existing code that supported having multiple featured things, while having a 50/50 system of sorts in place.

It would absolutely be better if it was just down to the 75/25 and if you win you get a box to choose between the weapons like you said. But it would be way better than it is now if fate points didn't get removed with every banner or when you switch your target.
Right now if you will have any less than 210 pulls, it is really risky to pull on the weapon banner unless you want both 5 stars. If fate points could carry over, then pulling for weapons would immediately be way less risky because you would at least be able to guarantee getting what you want at some point, even if you dont have 210 pulls saved up for one banner.
And I 100% agree that they chose to use fate points because it would require less effort to make.
Well, they did say it would appear 'from time to time', so not every patch. I did think it would be in 4.8 though. Pity does carry over, the guarantee does not and it really should.
Maybe its time to tell some secret.
Just wanna say as someone whos f2p but has a bunch of characters with average 30crit value per artifact piece (54+ max) and also have 3x 50 crit value pieces.
The technique is just simply grinding at a specific time (😏) everyday for a week in only one domain.
Feels like theres some sort of hidden pity per week per domain and time also matters.
Just try every time frame of the day ( morning, afternoon, night or dawn and observe what works for you).

the thing that sucks is that the chronicled wish would actually be a great system if they implemented in. not a perfect one, i wish guarantees carried over and it lasted the whole patch, but it'd allow players to get older characters and weapons. while the one we had may not have been a very strong lineup, i could see a banner with smth like baizhu, xiao, and hu tao being better. i still wouldnt wish on it very often as a f2p but i could see myself throwing the occassional 10 pull at it if the character lineups look good. the problem is that they for whatever reason they decided to run it once and then never bring it back again. i hope they bring it back in natlan just cuz the rerun situation is getting ridiculous. even though it couldve been better it was still a faster way of running older characters and the fact they just forgot abt it is sad
The banner is good in theory and could have been hella good in practice. You made good points like how older characters wouldn't become completely unaccessible. The banner system could be future proof, as it runs 6 characters at a time on one banner, allowing 10 characters to run per patch ( and roughly 80 a year if they do every patch ). The one banner also prevents banner inflation and choice paralysis, while still reducing the time between character rotations. Also, if liyue and further regions get banners, it would defs improve in value, as losing a 50 50 would still yield high value characters like going for kokomi and getting kazuha, and even if not, it's way better than another diluc.... but ya if they had just allowed the player to keep their fate point and/or extend the duration to the entire patch it would be perfect! Long term this is our best bet, the 3rd banner would quickly become inefficient (roughly 48 runs a year, much smaller than the current and growing cast) and throwing old characters on standard would literally make them hell to get

i kinda like that the banner isnt every patch so that theres time to save up in between but i feel like it should be every other patch or every 2 patches so it gives enough time for more characters to be eligible for the banner so its not the same almost every time it comes back to a region.

Worth noting that not only are they not taking my money for those characters but now that I have hope for chronicled banner with Ganyu and Keqing (and Shenhe MUST get a rerun soon… right?) has me withholding ALL of my money for them and skipping new characters and basically everything, in *all* of their games. Haven’t spent money to pull since… Acheron? Or chiori/Eula? I can’t even remember

Tedious world quests you can't skip, puzzles that are making less and less sense with each update (especially in that added Liyue region), world quests with barely any action and a whole lot of talking that wastes your time... I was willing to overlook that since I still liked exploring. However, the way they're running their banners is the last slap in the face I can take from this company that does not care about its playerbase at all.

as a f2p i'm getting scared for the future. genshin is my favorite game, and i've been playing since 2.0 nonstop, even though my account was made in 1.1 and i quit after a bit.
primos are getting less and less literally before my eyes, i do my comms, i do story quests, i do hangouts, i explore, and even then i only get roughly 40-60 wishes depending on what was released that version.
I did wishes on the chronicle wish banner for Tighnari's weapon. I was lucky enough to get it early. 😍
Just like on HI3, they should at least slowly add the older limited 5* characters on standard banner, that way we have a chance to get them....but yeah, I can't see them doing that at all 💀

The Chronicled Wish banner has some issues, but the biggest issue really is that it isn’t even rerunning TwT Why does it take them so long to run a second one?
I just want to say that this Chronicle with banner or whatever it is it's coming in hsr and it's the same thing if not even worse because for the light c you have 50/50 but in the game the original light c banner is 75/25
I have 70 pity on that banner and saved my 50/50 for the next banner BUT THE NEXT BANNER NEVER CAME
I am a Tighnari main but I started playing after he was featured so I didn't have his weapon, so this banner was a godsend to me. I think the idea of this banner is good even if you need to have 180 pulls to secure what you want, but at least in that banner you couldn't lose to qiqi, keqing or any other standard banner character other than the mondstat ones. My guess is this was going to be true for other regions, but I think Hoyo realized that characters from other regions are actually very good and "losing" a pity to Yelan or Hu Tao, for example, is something they can't allow.
Hopefully, with wuwa in the picture, they will realize they can no longer do what they want and retain their players.

I joined for primordial jade cutter in fontaine... it never came... then came back for natlan... it never came... 100 years go by and my son tries to get PJC but it never came... another 100 years go by and my grand daughter tried to get the PJC to commemorate me but failed to do it in her life time( the cycle continued)

I have a great idea for Genshin every 1000 wishes you can 5 star choose two characters and you will randomly get along with the two a 50-50 but no matter what since you are going to get a character like you will be happy. I have only gotten one 5 star character and I have been playing for a long
I've been saving for shenhe since her last banner... It hurts to wait so much
I bought Ganyu skin at 4.4 due to it being on sale and expecting Ganyu to rerun soon since when they released Ayaka skin they made her rerun one patch later. Its 4.8 with a ton of pulls in my bank and just hoping each patch they rerun a character that hasn't gotten a rerun in 380 days as well as her best support cause I am as well saving for Shenhe. Now to screw the few cryo fans I'm pretty sure they will rerun Shenhe and Ganyu in the early patches of Natlan to give the archon and whatever harbringers or dragons there all the spotlight and I will have to chose between getting characters who haven't rerun in over a year or the characters that are influential and important for Natlan rip.
The archon at least should be guaranteed to rerun within 5.x and is a safe skip if need be. I woulda said all characters before 5.6, but considering Wrio was early Fontaine and still doesn’t have a rerun… 😬
As someone waiting for Kaveh cons (who now wants Kinich & will likely need to dodge a 5* again, ironically Ganyu the first time) I feel the pain and REALLY hope your ladies come back soon. Honestly feels like a scam to sell skins of characters with a limited time discount and NOT release the actual characters for like a year+

It’s even worse when you remember the banner takes intertwined fates instead of acquaint fates. That means, using your Ganyu example, she could be on the chronicled wish running alongside your favorite character in a limited wish. But, you just have to choose which banner to pull on because it’s not like you can just save up acquaint fates to get Ganyu then use your primos to get that limited character. No, it *had* to be gems.
Literally the sole reason I keep playing since November of 2022 and farming is for Venti and Albedo, I do pull for other characters, bc I'm a collector, but if I already have the character I don't care abt constellations. Also I'm a f2p so I save and farm as much as I can.
I couldn't get albedo as I didn't know they were adding this banner, I tried really hard but I was too busy at the moment. Venti I had really bad luck.
Im so glad that you said that this game can be cleared with any characters. The meta hypers make it such that you MUST get Kazuha, Furina, Neuvilette, etc. like as long as your characters deal 1000000 damage, it's genuinely not a problem.

i play itto mono geo, before that i was a razor main who successfully defeated raiden shogun on rank 45+ with undergeared characters, including that razor.
in no way i EVER felt a need to pull for any of these. so i pulled what i liked - itto, cyno, wanderer, childe and lyney. out of these, i only played itto, to the point that he's my first and only c6r5 5*. fully f2p, after 3 years of slowly pulling on his banners.
so what if geo is not the best element? its the best element for me!
@@sleeppss honestly to me, you just need to get Venti, who is able to group everyone, and everything else becomes so much easier. One Venti can be run with 3 different 4*s, and all you need is a healer for him to be sustained. I do hope Genshin releases better 4*s in the future though, especially for hydro

You actually make me wanna start playing Itto even for funsies, and I'm so glad to see someone else who agrees that META isn't the only way to go in this game. Dedication is what you need in this game, and players like you make me remember why I'm still playing Genshin impact. And I feel you so much, it's like I love playing characters that people say are shit, back then people were like Kokomi is better you should pull for Raiden and Kazuha, but I skipped both of them because I knew she was exactly who I needed to run with Keqing, and back then she was such a lifesaver for me. And later on I got other characters like Ayato, Ayaka, Kazuha, Hutao, Shenhe, Itto, Klee, Albedo, Xiao, and honestly while they may suffer in some teams I do think the fun of Genshin is exploration and experimentation in team comps to make them work. I am really glad you're having fun with Itto, and clearing Raiden with an underleveled Razor at AR45 is absolutely amazing 😍 thanks for sharing your story to me too, I'm just so glad I'm not alone
The meta is not to beat the game, but to get 36 stars in the abyss which is the only hard content in the game. You can get 36 stars in the abyss with 4 star characters only but it can be really really hard, especially since 4.7 abyss which really went up on difficulty compared to previous ones.
Casual players who only want to do the story and don't care about the abyss can beat the game with the hydro traveler.

Actually there's one other benefit to Chronicled which was the main reason I wished on it- it allows you to guarantee Standard 5*s. I've been playing since freaking 2.0 and I've never once pulled Keq or Mona in Standard or 50/50 losses, the RNG keeps giving me Jean, Diluc, and weapons over and over and over and over. Chronicled actually let me pick Mona instead of waiting for the RNG to tell me I can have her. Sadly with the first one only focusing on Mondstadt chars I haven't been able to do the same for Keq and I'm stuck waiting for either Chronicled to return or for the RNG to actually have mercy on me.

newsflash - all gacha are unfair to some degree. you wont be getting everything off it, thats the point. you also often have to make choices - thats also the point. in the end, genshin is the easiest where you can make such choices, because such choice wont be from the point of "need", but from the point of "want".

I agree with you. I was also wondering what happened to the CWB. Genshin doesn't care about us, their customers. That is why I I'm now F2P and easing my way to quitting. I refuse to play anything else from Mihoyo, I hope a lot follow suit too. Natlan will be a turning point to a lot of us. I even lost interest on what keeps me playing Genshin, the story. My artifact RNG is terrible that its been up to years since I'm able to upgrade anything.
I am actually grateful the chronical wish banner came out. I was extremely lucky to get the wolfs gravestone weapon on first try. And i had been after that weapon for literal years!
I dont like that they only used it once because it was such a good idea (or though not implemented well)
what they have should really done was keep same system all exact with chronical but with one free char/weapon from chronical banner of your choice to take which should be free to get right away then after getting that then same rule with chronical banner system with all thing thats what should been implemented if they done that atleast then everyone would be happy to get free char/weapon they wanted for long time but they fk up making more money to spend on old char which is total bullcrap.They should have gotten free 5 star selector long time ago but they bring their version that is chronical banner which is so stupidest idea to fk all player who being wanting free 5 star desire char and they give this bruh. i wiish/ think they will have to do what fire emblem heroes does: multiple 'chronicle' style banners that stay for multiple versions, having more starter banners, event banners, different currency that u get from events etc. theres a lot they could do that wouldnt cost them anything, just a bit of coding etc. like all those small events no one cares about could grant a new type of currency. andyou could use it to get say, inazuma 4 stars . and have a banner for the starter free characters or something. they could be so creative with their wishing system but they just dont.
