A bit stupid to judge him on the basis of one song if you don't mind me saying, if anything it just proves that he's only human like the rest of us our body can only withstand so much You'd be the same performing almost every night with the amount of energy he does He's loyal to his fans and performs with all he has in him, this band deserves more credit than they receive.
After an hour of jumping around a stage and screaming your lungs out in an enclosed space with no fresh air I'd imagine most people's voices would be a little shaky. It's a testament to his skill that he's able to sing after all that.
Not to mention all the jumping and climbing and whatever else he does on stage can take a lot out of someone. It's amazing he's still able to do what he does.
Actually in fits of laughter from some people even suggesting that ES may be bad live. They are the best band live, by far. I love the rougher sound this song has, that's what gigs are all about, the atmostphere, the rawness, etc.
Saw these guys in plymouth in march and they were phenomenal. one of the few bands around that they're live performances sound as good as their albums. I was blown away by the quality and atmosphere of the show and it definately will not be my last shikari gig.
The first ever concert I went to was enter shikari for my 15th birthday. I had a broken arm at the time, but that definitely didn’t stop me having an amazing time. Got knocked out in the middle of a mosh pit because my dad got too into it and went jumping off and left me and I followed him in. Can honestly say it was the best night of my life💙🔽
I saw them in Clifton Park, NY, and they were on before the headliner. My friends and I, and also apparently 80% of the crowd there were only there for Enter Shikari, because after they finished their last song, someone started a crowd chant of "And still we will be here, standing like statues" that went for about 10-15 minutes until someone came out and was like "Yeaah they can't play anymore songs", and then the venue pretty much emptied.
One of my favorite things about Enter Shikari is I know that my fellow fans are not idiots and can reply intelligently to trolls and repsect other genres of music
I love how everyone in the band is prepared to go vocal. And personally I think Rou is amazing live, and if you disagree with me ask the thousands of fans who have actually witnessed him live and then see if he's terrible live?
I am in love with the band.....REAL TALK! Their message and talent is hard to come by these days. Love the fact that they are into music fusion is a major plus.
The thing about these guys is... they could easily take each others role (maybe except for Rob's) and the music would still be absolutely bangin'. They're sooooo underrated.
+syzwn z me tooooo.... when they came with bring me the horizon (i went for enter shikari, ofcourse. bring me the horizon was a huge bonus).. i can die happy :D
Hey! I'm from Malaysia too :-) I've been a fan of them since Take to the Skies and they just keep on blessing us with their amazing presence man. It's so funny how they're from the UK but I've seen them in the US, Australia and Malaysia but not yet where theyre from.
Yeah mate, it was mentioned in a some UK magazine I read. It said "Enter Shikari announces headline tour in November" - I researched into it and they defiantly are touring around the November period. It's going to be insane. Already got my money ready HAHA!
Can't wait for them to announce the next UK tour in October/November, hopefully November! When you come to Manchester, get a small venue, they're much better ;D
His voice doesn't sound tired at all. Any smart vocalist who knows how to warm up and rest their voice correctly should have no problem. The whole band just has a way of not trying to play everything 100% perfect like it is on the albums. That first poster, however, doesn't know what he's talking about. Rou sounds perfectly fine in this recording.
you have no idea how fucking hard it is singing and playing guitar at once. Ive played guitar and sung for 5 years and when i try to throw in both everything just goes to shit
Yeah, looking back on it, I could've worded that a lot less harshly. That was a very quickly written comment that I put no thought into. I should've specified that this performace only was a poor one on Rou's part. I wasn't implying you were a "fanboy" but many people here are just ignoring his poor performace and labelling it "amazing" simply because they're die hard fans - Those were the people I was talking about.
Ah, fair enough, I shouldn't have generalised as much as I did. It was just a very quickly written comment that I didn't think twice about, looking back I should've specified that this performace only was a poor one on Rou's part. Hopefully, he'll get better at this as time goes on though, I know this was one of the first performances of this song live, so he may improve after more performances.
i wish people would get into the music more and enjoy the experience rather than just stand and hold there phones to record there performance, gigs are losing there meaning these days
Ugh, why have people been saying Rou is terrible live? He's probably tired from touring which, in turn, probably messes up his vocal chords a bit. Check out some of the radio 1 sessions with Zane Lowe, then tell me he's shit.
anyone that listens to ES knows Rout doesn't suck live. listen to him talk before he starts singing, you can tell his vocal chords are just fucked for this show, whether it be from sickness or touring to much. maybe both.
You're speaking as though there is an objective standard of what is a "good voice" and what is a "bad one". I've seen videos of him singing standalone and his voice is great in my opinion, your opinion may differ, but opinions are like assholes, everybody has them.
Why is he terrible? Because his voice doesn't sound like "normal" singing voices? He's not off key, he just has a different singing voice than the norm. Is Daryl Palumbo a terrible singer live?
Why do people like you always openly insult the vocalist but NEVER explain why? Is it because there is no reason for you thinking he is terrible? Maybe you're jealous? I do not know, but next time, be a bit more constructive...
This song has aged like a fine wine and couldn’t be more relevant now
A bit stupid to judge him on the basis of one song if you don't mind me saying, if anything it just proves that he's only human like the rest of us our body can only withstand so much
You'd be the same performing almost every night with the amount of energy he does
He's loyal to his fans and performs with all he has in him, this band deserves more credit than they receive.
3:15 Chris voice. GOD. awesome
I love his voice
That man was born to sing shouting
After an hour of jumping around a stage and screaming your lungs out in an enclosed space with no fresh air I'd imagine most people's voices would be a little shaky. It's a testament to his skill that he's able to sing after all that.
Right? I think I heard maybe 2 or 3 notes that stood out, and that's it
Not to mention all the jumping and climbing and whatever else he does on stage can take a lot out of someone. It's amazing he's still able to do what he does.
chris' singing ill live this fantasy was amazing i didn't know he could sing like that
Actually in fits of laughter from some people even suggesting that ES may be bad live. They are the best band live, by far. I love the rougher sound this song has, that's what gigs are all about, the atmostphere, the rawness, etc.
everyone in enter shikari has an amazing voice, and they also aren't ignorant like the shit in the mainstream media now a days
rou is a great performer everyone that has seen him and the rest of the band live can be proud :x i'd love 2 see them at least once
Saw these guys in plymouth in march and they were phenomenal. one of the few bands around that they're live performances sound as good as their albums. I was blown away by the quality and atmosphere of the show and it definately will not be my last shikari gig.
i love it when they strip it down like this..it shows how truly talented they all are
am i the only one who cant see any miniscule problem with the vocals, i think they are probably the best live singers out there no question...
This made my day! also i am Norwegian... thumbs up if you think norway is a city in sweden!
The first ever concert I went to was enter shikari for my 15th birthday. I had a broken arm at the time, but that definitely didn’t stop me having an amazing time. Got knocked out in the middle of a mosh pit because my dad got too into it and went jumping off and left me and I followed him in. Can honestly say it was the best night of my life💙🔽
You tell him! No one messes with Shikari fans!
When Rou sings high notes like that, I CAN'T handle the feels that I feel.
Good message. People need to wake up, for a better life, for a better world. Love and Peace.
I saw them in Clifton Park, NY, and they were on before the headliner. Theyre voices are so amazing! So much talent this band has.
I love how everyone in the band is prepared to go vocal. And personally I think Rou is amazing live, and if you disagree with me ask the thousands of fans who have actually witnessed him live and then see if he's terrible live?

Wow wow wow. So talented and such amazing musicians. My favourite song of AFFOC and even better live!!!
My favorite song on the new album..
Hey I'm from Malaysia, and I've watched Enter Shikari live. it was the best live performance I have ever seen in my entire life
+syzwn z me tooooo.... when they came with bring me the horizon (i went for enter shikari, ofcourse. bring me the horizon was a huge bonus).. i can die happy :D

Chris' vocals in this... fuck yes!
excuse me while I cry forever because you guys took this off the American setlist :(
Yeah mate, it was mentioned in a some UK magazine I read. It said "Enter Shikari announces headline tour in November" - I researched into it and they defiantly are touring around the November period. It's going to be insane. Already got my money ready HAHA!

Singing is a form of musical talent. -_-
or Camden live, right?)

What's up with the audio? It sounds different from some of their other live vids.
fucking love these guys
whats the set list for this show?
I think one that is perfect vocals Rau at concerts?
I love you all so much. I don't see anything wrong with Rou's vocals anyway.
this is fucking excellent
What guitar is rou playing please
you have no idea how fucking hard it is singing and playing guitar at once. Ive played guitar and sung for 5 years and when i try to throw in both everything just goes to shit
lol barely listened to ES new album but I thought Rou sounded really good here!
2:38 goosebumps
Sounds like rou is sick... Saw them in melbourne and couldnt believe how good they sounded live
You have clearly not seen them live...
You forgot to mention the fact that Rou's voicebox broke and it needed to be operated on!!
Rou looks weird with a guitar on! much love shikari
1:10 photo !!!!

maaann, i cant fucking wait to see them on "hovefestivalen" next summer
probably because he is?
Not sure why they chose the london gig when it's obviously not their best. I saw them at wolverhampton and Rou sang perfectly all night so yeah...
COOL ME DOWN STEVE
i wish people would get into the music more and enjoy the experience rather than just stand and hold there phones to record there performance, gigs are losing there meaning these days
Ugh, why have people been saying Rou is terrible live? He's probably tired from touring which, in turn, probably messes up his vocal chords a bit. Check out some of the radio 1 sessions with Zane Lowe, then tell me he's shit.

they see you trollin, they hatin.
He's tired and also very sick all the time :s
how the fuck can anyone say this is bad?
NO U
he seems really tired
Why is he terrible? Because his voice doesn't sound like "normal" singing voices? He's not off key, he just has a different singing voice than the norm. Is Daryl Palumbo a terrible singer live?
Its like you think your opinion matters when Rou makes tons of money on performances like this.
Why do people like you always openly insult the vocalist but NEVER explain why? Is it because there is no reason for you thinking he is terrible? Maybe you're jealous? I do not know, but next time, be a bit more constructive...
Thats not true tho, he never had an operation on his voice.
