  • My initial look at the Kyptek Highlander Dalibor III Jacket.
I'm 5'9, and a fit 200lbs. I purchased size Large, which fit well.
Overview of Kryptek Dalibor III Jacket:
    1. 6 total pockets on the exterior of the jacked. The pockets near the waist are fairly large.
    2. The elastic at the wrists to close off the arm hole is a plus.
    3. Quiet material.
    4. When the zipper is fully zipped to the top, it's slightly tight at the neck. This area is more loose in the newer Dalibor III Pro Jacket.
    5. The hood is noticeably smaller than the hood in the Dalibor III Pro Jacket.
Subscribe for future camo testing in the woods with many camo patterns, including Kryptek, Sitka, RealTree, Skre, and Scorpion OCP / Multicam.

I have a couple of these jackets in different patterns. They are definitely not a hot weather jacket. They are great as active insulation in the 40-50°F range. If you’re static, you could probably be comfortable up to 70°F. When I combined mine with a cronos hoodie and lycos ii, I’ve been comfortable down into the 20s (static).
They are super quiet and durable. I’ve dragged them through thick manzanita with no damage.
The highlander pattern works great in the 10-300 yard range. I’ve had a hunting buddy tell me I was nearly invisible at 10 yards away with just a couple of small plants between us to break up my silhouette. At longer distances I’ve had many experiences where someone was looking in my direction, while I was in the open, without seeing me.

Thanks for your input. I agree that it wouldn't be fun to wear this in actual HOT weather, however, it's probably one of the thinnest jackets I've owned and if I needed some quick camo in warmer weather that is also durable, I'd probably grab this on my way out the door.
Interesting to read about your experience with the highlander pattern. Are there other patterns (Kryptek or otherwise) that have done as well at effectively turning you invisible?

@@2030Survival cool, it should work for that use case.
Obskura Transitional works great around vegetation, rock outcrops, and darker soil. It’s very effective in a forest where you have partial shade. I’d say it’s good for roughly the same range in distance. At a couple hundred yards, it still looks organic rather than merging into a single color.
I think the big difference is that Obskura makes you look like the other objects in the environment, while Highlander makes you look like part of the negative space.
