Man, i'm so glad this series is back. I think i'm actually going to restart watching from the very first patrol. And also from Skies Above Britain. I mean, the Field Commander Nimitz series is pretty great also but, these two games are simply some of my favourites. Thank you so very much for doing and sharing these. They're greatly appreciated. Have fun and take care out there.
@@dicusd2776 Yes, it was extremely close! If that second crew hit dice roll didn't strike the (non-existent) observer the game would have been over since Albert already had a serious wound.
Bonne Chance indeed and look forward to Lt. Albert living to fly / fight another day!!! Also curious if it's more house rules to require landing after incurring a SW and still allow application of landing skill?
@@jeffprincevalle1301 No, I'm almost positive you must land immediately after a serious wound which is why I didn't fly back to the airfield. I'll have to double check that in the rules.
@@pdex2165 Thanks Mr. P! Since I very often overlook nuances of this nature, I did review the rules and the player aid card on SW as well as checking BGG before commenting but couldn't find anything on mandatory landing. If there is, please do post so I (& others) can note that.
Per Gregory Smith (designer) on BGG (under thread "Enemy SW and Disengage"): "[Chart] B4 is for SW on the enemy pilots. This is implied when later I say "KIA results in a victory". But yes, I should have been clearer there. The player either ends the encounter (vs. a 2-seater) or goes home after the current combat if fighting a scout. B4 is talking about a SW to the enemy forces him to attempt disengagement." So, the player pilot doesn't have to immediately land after a Serious Wound (you can always Home Rule that he should [prevent bleeding out, for example]) just immediately end the encounter against an enemy 2-seater, or after the current combat against an enemy scout.

@@pdex2165 Mandatory to break off combat but no need for an emergency landing. The landing penalty apples. Love the series.
...and the weather is good. 🙂
