For example, you have 100$ and you don't use any leverage, You bet 100$ in trading. if you lose 1% = 1$, your balance is still remain 99$.
But if you use leverage 10:1. You have only 100$ but you but 1000$ in trading. if you lose 1%, it will 10$, so your remain balance will be 100$ - 10$ = 90$.
Leverage is a double-edged sword, meaning it can also magnify both profits and losses.
