Hey its OK if you weren't feeling the song.. To me this was one of their best live performances. KISS was a very underrated band, and they had tons of talent and heart.
Black Diamond: the best Kiss song. It’s quite quite different than their other songs, much darker. It’s got the best riff, the best lyrics, the best solo, and Peter is the best singer
You wanted the best you got the best, the hottest band in the world... KISS!!! rock n roll all nite Calling dr. Love Nothin to lose Firehouse Duece Strutter Detroit Rock City Cold Gin Any of those songs rock!!!
Grew up loving KISS as a kid, then became a KISS merchandise collector as I got older. No joke, I actually got arrested for D.U.I. on Halloween shortly after I had just turned 21, as Paul Stanley (The Starchild). Mug shot in makeup, which I couldn't believe they did. Not proud of it, but kinda am! That's my KISS story. You did pick the wrong song to intro into KISS however. This is early in their career. Anything live from 76'-78' is the go to. Let the subs request the proper classics!
When it comes to kiss there are so many songs that are good. I was made for loving you, tears are falling, Beth, Hard luck woman, Detroit Rock City, lick it up, and forever. I hope you give them a chance.
This was early KISS. They hadn't really got their whole stage show and performance production down yet. But you could tell they were putting their heart into it.
They were they are and they will A L W A Y S be the HOTTEST BAND IN WORLD…. They deserve respect only. Believe me people Kanye west and the rest of these shits will be forgotten. These rock bands will NEVER be. Rock n roll till death.
Just to add......this was the last of a 4 song night by these guys on the airing of The Midnight Special April 1(lol my bday)1975. It(this song) too isn't my fav......but when you saw the real arena sized show....this was friggin epic. They also proved you don't have to look down at your guitar and stand in one place all night long. Peter Criss's voice and playing drums while singing inspired me to do the same. After years of bands stoned out of their minds putting out music shorts(before music videos) this was refreshing to see raw noise if you will, on video and aired on TV late night Friday every week. Kiss wasn't perfect sounding.....but man the circus act they you saw, had you screaming for more. Glad I had the chance to see them in all 3 styles. 70's, 80's, and the reunion 90's.
This is a great live version of “Black Diamond”! Glad to see Jai enjoy it, but I understand Half not really digging it. From 1975 to 1979, KISS walked the Earth like giants! Their albums sold millions of copies and their show was a ‘must-see’ event. This is raw, live footage, and Peter Criss brings his best Keith Moon ( The Who) into play here! Destroying a set was the punctuation mark on a show. Also, the reason they may appear out of synch is because each one of them was embodied in a character; each doing their own thing while simultaneously bringing the music to the fans.
couple of things to remember, when KISS first came out John Denver was the number one act in America. They wanted to be a band that no one has ever seen, everything was built around "bigger than life" the make up, boots, stage presence, everything, they were the first band to have a logo behind them, special effects, a "Show" alot of bands would not let them open for them because their stage show was so over the top. this was from Dick Clark concert series in 74, Peter Criss the drummer got in drummer for thrashing his drums lol. check out a version of this song from the KISS Symphony alive 4.
The Midnight Special show(this was one of the songs) 1975. The late Helen Reddy introduced them, and hearing the name....My 14yr old self was like WHAAA??? The rest.....is history......Instant fan, same year Christmas KISS ALIVE givin to me by my parents(dad was a drummer in highschool band) and that's all I wanted that year. Glad they(original members) are still alive, just not altogether on tour, but glad regardless. Saw them live Springfield Civic Center Feb 1978, again Denver 1987, and finally their reunion tour Dec 1999 Boston. I'm showing my age.............What's "taco meat supposed to mean in these here weird times?" Back in those KISS days.....we said that about tight pants on the ladies..............then it was called something relating to a camel's foot area. Guess it depends on the area you hailed from and what decade. lol Peace, health, and Happy Thanksgiving. ✌😎👍
Yooooo folks, thanks for all them good vibes. Need that shit locked between these walls for over half a bloody year. Been checkin your vidjas on stand up last couple dayz and fell in love with both yall and just subscribed. Dont care for Kiss but this will be my first comment while ive been pissin my pants on ur Bill Burr stuf. Greetz from Holland.
The fish in the shoes thing comes from the film "I'm gonna git you sucka". For Kiss the platform shoes was just a part of their costumes, and never changed it.
Half, I may be wrong but I don't think they sell platform shoes to men who don't have taco meat. When they started that band, the guy platforms, the bass player, Gene Simmons, was a 6th grade teacher in NYC.
Love your channel. If you watch Kiss you've got to like their taco meat from 1973 to 2020. It never goes away They have so many fast classic rock songs. "BETH" is the slow jam that Jai might love. "Rock & Roll All Night" is their Signature song "Love Gun" "Shout it Out Loud" So many others. They're almost always live videos. Enjoy the Rabbit hole . They were the biggest band in the world at one point.
I was a KISS fanatic back in the day.... But out of all the hits they had, this is at the bottom with my least favorite a. Try... Do You Love Me, Lick It Up, Detroit Rock City, I wanna Rock and Roll All Night, Beth, Dr Love, Charisma, and more more more..... There is a deep rabbit hole but gotta stay away from the few duds. My facial expressions were matching yay alls.... LMAO 🤣😅🤣
You're the only person, I've ever seen, who didn't like this song. I've seen KISS live many times, in every decade since the 70's, including the summer of 2019, and they still put on the best live show, on the planet. I've seen many bands, and the energy this guys put out, at a live show, is unmatched.
You have to remember that this performance didn't have all of the KISS show in it--the pyrotechnics, lighting, special effects, etc. This was a TV show that had many bands performing on that stage, and therefore not all of KISS' stuff could be incorporated into the show. They basically shoe-horned in what they could, meaning a few flash pots, the smoke, and not much else. The rest was on their shoulders, delivered in the actual performance, which was great. Now yes, Peter Criss wasn't exactly the most talented lead vocalist--his massive hit "Beth" notwithstanding--but his singing, although funny at times, was genuine. And that was one of the things that defined the early years of KISS: yes, they were ridiculous, but they were for real. They weren't phony. They went out and delivered massive energy two-hour sets, night after night, and were losing their shirts financially in the early years. That's how dedicated they were, and the fans that would become the KISS Army immediately picked up on that. And that translated into KISS becoming the biggest group in the world in the late 70s.
As someone who grew up with KISS I'll tell you straight up their music was very basic. Their main selling point was their show with the costumes, antics, and pyrotechnics. Now because their music was basic there live performances were very close to the studio versions of their songs , which avoided the live letdowns suffered by many artists. Even this performance, despite the poor sound quality, is almost note for note the same as the studio version. Then you have to understand this was a major touring band, doing a national tour twice a year. From 1975 to 1978 I saw them 8 times with the average ticket price being $10.
This was a tv appearance and it really doesn't show them at their best. Much better if you look at an actual concert performance where they ain't limited on what they can do. I stole your love from a concert in Houston from 77 would be a good one to check out. Love what you guys do.
At least you give a truthful reaction. Most people on reaction channels feel they have to kiss ass on every song and pretend to like everything in fear of making somebody mad or losing a subscriber. Nice to see your honest about not liking a song. And because of that, im now going to subscribe to this channel. 👍
Anyone who doesn't think this is a masterpiece, doesn't know how to appreciate true talent and legendary drummer and lead vocals!!! 👏 Peter has a great raspy voice and powerful unique drumming style, jungle rhythm and jazz filled riffs and big band swing style!!! There has never been another drummer ever with a better voice, and the late great Neil Pert said the same thing!!!
Big Kiss fan since 76. Love this song. But refreshing to see that you werent faking that you enjoyed it. Thats ok and might be more interesting than just having 100% positive reactions to every video suggested.
It seems to me, people either Love KISS or they hate them. I’m a KISS fan from way back, and I took a lot of shit from KISS haters. You are not alone, a lot of people hate KISS It’s all good. KISS ARMY 👅👄⚡️😾
I absolutely love how you guys play such diverse music! All these requests, have you guys listening to some amazing stuff, you would have never listened to, unless you had this channel. I love it!
I love the band and the performance, but I respect you so much for being honest and real for not actually liking (one of you haha) ;) Love both of your reactions always
My daughter showed me this video and I wish I would have recorded my live reaction. I would love to see yours. (Kane Brown, "Heaven") Love your video's, love your smiles....LOVE YOU GUYS! Thank you for being YOU!
Kudos for checking out Kiss. I did think this song was an odd choice for first listen because, yeah, they have better. Detroit Rock City and Dr. Love are a couple older classics.
It wasn't the fact that they wore platforms so much as it was the way Paul Stanley could jump around in them. They kept the platforms until they took off the make-up and the lineup changed. Paul still bounced and jumped like crazy though. The best lineup had Bruce Kulick (guitar) and Eric Carr ( drums) or Eric Singer after Carr passed away. ( The music was more inclusive at that stage. The early stuff was a sign of the 70s.) For a different feel with Kulick and Carr..Tears Are Falling or King of Hearts or I Still Love you - MTV Unplugged version is great. Features Eric Singer on drums, Kulick on guitar.
Glad you're being real. 7 billion people on the planet, when Kiss does a big tour they may play to 2 million people. As Kiss fans we know we're in the minority...... 99% of the population ain't gonna like it.
Check out Strutter, Parasite,Fire House or Strange Ways. They are all great KISS songs from the beginning, pick one and listen you will like it. Keep rocking brothers and sisters of the K I ⚡⚡ Army.
Hey Half i appreciate your opinion of this song and thats my freind is coming from a die hard KISS fan .Songs you might like by them are do you love me, lick it up, heavens on fire, i love it loud are some good ones
Go to see kiss on the reunion tour we had third row and we were raging so hard we chased the people in front of us away shit was funny but an amazing show
10:38 When you find out, you're not getting paid the amount agreed, your wife just filed for divorce while you're on tour, your accountant embezzled last years income, and your girlfriend/mistress just mailed(cause there was no cell/smartphone/email back then)you she's late this month.......................(crickets) AHHHHHHHHHHH I HATE THESE DRUMS!!!! lol it's a Keith Moon thing.
They're legends in rock n roll and even if somebody didnt know who they are they know who gene simmons is dope reaction fam happy thanksgiving to everyone 🦃🔥🔥
Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving to you and you families. Please be safe and always be thankful to our Lord because he is good everyday all the time. God bless ❤️❤️❤️
There's a few different versions of KISS. The 70s you should probably go with Detroit Rock City, Love Gun, Strutter, Shout It Out Loud, God of Thunder, Hotter Than Hell, Firehouse, Calling Dr. Love, Christine Sixteen. Then from the 80s and 90s, I would go with Lick It Up, Tears are Falling, Creatures of the Night, I Love It Loud, Heaven's on Fire, Unholy, Forever, Let's Put The X in Sex. There's really too many to mention. Some other less notable, but good songs, Shandi, New York Groove(Ace Frehley solo album), Deuce, Crazy Nights, Rise To It... too many.
Peter Criss said "fuck deez drums"🤣🤣🤣🤣. You should listen to the studio version. Sometimes a live song verses studio holds a different feel. For a band like KISS,when you heard them back in the day..they had an almost chaotic vibe..sometimes all of the stage moves seemed to make them seem out of sync. You mentioned a band like Metallica, they were never as active as Gene and Paul..no jumping and swaying back n forth,or the body motions they had,did..while playing their instruments. Take those into factor as well. I'm a Gene tribute artist and I can say that I know as a musician and actor portraying Gene..to keep some things in sync with the money especially and music all at the same time..out of sync happens. But I say listen to the studio cut. You won't feel that. Most of the fans on here are too busy needing to say what dong they like or this that and the other..saying nothing that's the point of you watching and your opinion. Some fans get all butthurt like if someone doesn't like kiss or a particular song, they act like its a personal attack on them..good grief grow up! Its cool that you didnt feel it..its ok to agree to disagree,in my book. Again, give the studio cut a listen..sometimes a little version isn't the best. love this video.. Keep it real man👊🏾
Their best song was God of Thunder. They were a great stage band, the younger kids were really into them. And Half is right-in the 70's they had platform shoes the guys would wear and they put goldfish in the heels. Worn with Sear Sucker suit and fro
I really like their B side songs they have quite of few gems no one knows it’s them when they hear it then they see it but they’re legends underrated because of the makeup
What it do GoodVibesTribe! We hope everyone have a happy thanksgiving. Love you guys 🤟🏾🤟🏾
Have a good Thanksgiving and stay safe your guys are the best youtubers

I agree, it is their best song!!! My boy Peter and Ace shined like a mother fucker!!!

The rest of these shits. LMFAO 😂🤣👌Truth to the max.
Fishbowl platform shoes was from the movie "Gonna Get Ya Sucka."
Yes exactly what I was thinking!
Fly guy, pimp of the year
That is Gene Simmons. The Tall One. Try They Call Me Doctor Love.
It’s just calling dr love 😅
Just to add......this was the last of a 4 song night by these guys on the airing of The Midnight Special April 1(lol my bday)1975.

Best Kiss video ever is "I Love It Loud" the official video, not the live one.
You guys NEED to watch and react to some more live KISS from 1976-1977 though! That's when KISS was at the top and the height of their glory!
The Midnight Special show(this was one of the songs) 1975. The late Helen Reddy introduced them, and hearing the name....My 14yr old self was like WHAAA???

Half, this was actually at their beginning stages. Now, it's just crazier than this performance.
Listener of KISS for the past 45 years (March 1976).

new here but want u to know i love you both!!! im so glad i found ur channel :) u make me laugh..... keep it up
Do you know Bob Seger? He opened for KISS. Seger’s cover of “Come to Poppa” is a short bit of funky flirty fun.
Lol, when you had the platforms, ya had to have a "glide to yer' stride" !
Thanks for checking them out. Very influential group.
....Black Diamond is the last song always,...enjoy the venom
This was around 1975, and this song was the one they always ended the concert.
At least you give a truthful reaction. Most people on reaction channels feel they have to kiss ass on every song and pretend to like everything in fear of making somebody mad or losing a subscriber. One of the two best KISS songs of all time!
KISS “I was made for Lovin you!” It’s a must! Not only ONE of my favs of theirs- but PERFECT for you 2 sweethearts..❤️ TRUST! 😉 ✌️✨

That night on The Midnight Special...they also performed; 'She' .... and .... 'Deuce' (both good ones)
If you saw them in concert, you would apologize for what you said.
7:30 Well as Gene once said “We run around and pretty much raise hell”
NO TACO MEAT😂😂❤️❤️
I absolutely love how you guys play such diverse music! All these requests, have you guys listening to some amazing stuff, you would have never listened to, unless you had this channel. I love it!
Love your channel!, greetings ftom Medellin, Colombia ( South America)
Ive gotten to see KISS several times in concert, with and without makeup, and they put on a hell of a show.
This is 1974…. In some TV show maybe not with best sound quality. However they were absolutely killing it there.
Paul Stanley: where do you see yourself in 45 years
Gene Simmons: *tongue clicks* being featured in a half and jay reaction video
I stopped playing xbox to watch this. Been waiting forever for a Kiss review
This is really early Kiss, I like this song but this was a bad version of it.
Kiss was a simple but fun band, but they were marketing geniuses.
Listen to the album version.
I love you guys, you're just so real. PEACE!!!
It makes sense this is when they were still fairly new back in 75 if I'm not mistaken
I love the band and the performance, but I respect you so much for being honest and real for not actually liking (one of you haha) ;) Love both of your reactions always
Love your channel keep up the good work
I Hope EVERYONE has a Great Thanksgiving Day! If you don't celebrate Thanksgiving Day then I hope you have an Awesome Thursday! 😎
Peace!
My daughter showed me this video and I wish I would have recorded my live reaction.
I would love to see yours. (Kane Brown, "Heaven") Love your video's, love your smiles....LOVE YOU GUYS! Thank you for being YOU!
You gotta listen to the Original Rock/Rap song…from the 1983 KISS album Lick it Up, All Hells Breakin’ Loose!!!
Ahhhh the huge platform shoes😂😂ladies wore platforms too... but I never had fish😳
😘Happy Thanksgiving!!🦃
Kudos for checking out Kiss. I did think this song was an odd choice for first listen because, yeah, they have better. Detroit Rock City and Dr. Love are a couple older classics.

no idea man, they were tight. no accounting for taste. those harmonies were spot on.
Hey Half i appreciate your opinion of this song and thats my freind is coming from a die hard KISS fan .Songs you might like by them are do you love me, lick it up, heavens on fire, i love it loud are some good ones

Not a KISS fan however I'll give you a like to show support. Good vibes fam!💙💙🙌🙌
Do you prefer live shows or just the studio version of songs?
MY YOUTH!
You got a kind a remember that this was probably like early 70s and the production that even the bands in the 80s and 90s head wasn’t there then
Don't have to like them all. Appreciate an honest reaction.
10:38 When you find out, you're not getting paid the amount agreed, your wife just filed for divorce while you're on tour, your accountant embezzled last years income, and your girlfriend/mistress just mailed(cause there was no cell/smartphone/email back then)you she's late this month.......................(crickets)
AHHHHHHHHHHH I HATE THESE DRUMS!!!!
lol it's a Keith Moon thing.

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving to you and you families. Please be safe and always be thankful to our Lord because he is good everyday all the time. God bless ❤️❤️❤️
I so respect honest reactions.
Would love to see you guys do KISS I WAS MADE FOR LOVING YOU Official music video
Happy Thanksgiving
OMG I love you guys♥️♥️♥️
There's a few different versions of KISS. The 70s you should probably go with Detroit Rock City, Love Gun, Strutter, Shout It Out Loud, God of Thunder, Hotter Than Hell, Firehouse, Calling Dr. Love, Christine Sixteen. Then from the 80s and 90s, I would go with Lick It Up, Tears are Falling, Creatures of the Night, I Love It Loud, Heaven's on Fire, Unholy, Forever, Let's Put The X in Sex. There's really too many to mention.
Some other less notable, but good songs, Shandi, New York Groove(Ace Frehley solo album), Deuce, Crazy Nights, Rise To It... too many.
Pleaseeeew react to This Ain’t Nothin’ by Craig Morgan ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love y’all!
Haha, Peter Chris (the drummer) was mad about Half's comments - lol
Keep it real man👊🏾
One of my favorite bands! Please react to Kiss - Heaven’s On Fire

Hope y'all have a good thanksgiving!!
Their best song was God of Thunder. They were a great stage band, the younger kids were really into them. And Half is right-in the 70's they had platform shoes the guys would wear and they put goldfish in the heels. Worn with Sear Sucker suit and fro
