It's because the electrics tend to be plugged in on the opposite side to the habitation door.
This means they're out of the way and don't get under foot.

I have just been to the motorhome show at Newark. Most of the vans on offer have this awful miserable grey colour inside just like this one so I will be keeping my Swift bolero 682 FB another year

The fashion is towards neutral colours at the moment with most manufactures.

@@kennuff2 Actually the difference between UK and Continental motorhome kitchens is vast, also between one manufacture and another. A lot of UK vans now have no microwave.

@@NickWhaleMotorhomes Yes we noticed the lack of microwaves at the Newark show last week. We use to winter at Calpe in our van but not now so were looking for a bit smaller motorhome or even a panel van conversion but were disappointed with what was on offer.

The benches are a really good length. A mattress topper can always be added for extra comfort.
