what an amazing moment in the movie. I am not always a huge fan, but Tom Cruise got one of the nicest laugh I know and the music right after is again amazing;
I really like the original movie better. It is a Spanish movie called Open your eyes (forgot the original name in Spanish but it translates to this). Vanilla Sky is a remake of it and it's 99% the same. Yet, the original movie was much better imo. Idk, maybe Tom Cruise was not the perfect choice for such a movie. Also, there were moments in Vanilla Sky (like the ending) where everything was WAAAAAAY slower, probably in order to create higher tension. But it was just annoying to me. Anyways, if you liked Vanilla Sky, I'd recommend you to try the original movie as well. See the same story, told by a different director. It's interesting to compare the approach. Cheers
I saw the remake first and liked it so much that I decided to check out the original. It felt very much like the original was trying to copy the remake and it just didn't feel authentic like the remake does. It's not because I saw the remake first, i think it was the characters in the remake pretty much played themselves, it was cast perfectly imo and I am not a big fan of Tom Cruise, but he is perfect for the role of David.
