- Christina wants to redo the fireplace, but Tarek is hesitant as it will cost a lot of money. However, when it comes to deciding on floors and backsplash for the kitchen, the pair seem to be on the same page for once.

When they chose the backsplash, I did not agree, but now I like it more than anything else in the house. Great flip! 👏👏👏
I didn't mind the fence but the new fence looks very modern. It was the front of the house that needed one large area of window. Surprised they kept just the one small window. Looks strange. I'm glad they make a profit but I feel like they are taking advantage of new and young buyers! / I really love that they take houses that are in rough shape and bring them to very modern homes. It's like recycling and saving houses.
If a buyer comes in and falls in love, it's a win-win.

I have watched a lot of their flips and think they’re great. I’m a little obsessed. But what’s up with the backsplash? Living in Europe… It’s what grandparents have in their chitchens🤯
The house looks clean and crisp. The exterior transformation is more effective than the interior, which looks like an overlarge space sparsely filled with blocky furnishings. Perhaps space could have been borrowed from the great room to make a bigger main bedroom.
I'd keep the great room as-is, and instead, delete one of the bedrooms in order to create a bigger master. Very few families need 5 bedrooms.

I have a question . With the Fireplace, why couldn't they just use Wood instead of the expensive Tile ? Pained wood could have given the same end result and much less I would guess?
You also have to have a certain distance between the opening of your fireplace and anything flammable so they couldn't have gotten that seamless look.
Stone that was there, looked better than the tile ... they always put cheap ass tile on fireplaces... always looks fake and cheap.
It's good to have a fencing out at the front need more Doors open ING to court yards to use front yards
Those cabinets are not stained properly to give full coverage. I'd have a talk with the manufacturer if this were my renovation.
The fence is one of the best features. Christina is just a complainer. Seriously!

@John Jones They replaced it with something much cheaper and that needs much more maintenance.

Absolutely!
It also usually includes getting an engineer involved depending on the extremity of the load because the beam has to be specked correctly or else the house could collapse.

I think gray is a more generic color to appeal to all buyers. They go with what works. Maybe not their personal choice?
When I've brought that up before, I get slammed by other viewers saying that it's easier for them to use grey every time because they're in the business of flipping homes, not custom remodeling. I get it, but it gets boring.

Agree, agree, agree!! I get so happy when she chooses a backsplash other than grey!! I call her Christina Grey Grey Grey.
She almost always chooses grey, but I just saw an episode that was uploaded this morning where she used warm beige and brown. It was a traditional Spanish style home and was maybe the best transformation I've ever seen them do. I'll link it here if I can. It's totally worth watching.

I wouldn't pay for staging myself. Thats an option. I know which room is which and where to put my furniture. I get that not everybody has the "vision", but I'm not paying for the stupidity and lack of creativity of others.

Same old, same old. Gray again, Christina squalling, and buying expensive stuff. How many out there would like to see HER ex-husband or ex- huband's alimony and child support funded home? Obviously, she can't hold down a job without Tarek.
Man, that's super harsh. It's good for them business wise to have opposing views sometimes. They'll get a better product in the end. Plus, she does have her own show too.

@@vprice84 Who financed her show,? I meant REALLY financed it? Opposing viewpoints, sure! But it's generally her way, or no way.
Granted she can be a heckler when I it comes to design but I rarely see a flip I don't like. She actually doesn't count on him for financing. She is self made due to this show being a smash. Even shown in the UK. As a former designer, flipper, project planner, gray is neutral and blends well with many different colors. People can imagine themselves living in a home with those color choices that mesh well with gray. I totally understand what you're saying though.
@@janewasson4845 I'm guessing HGTV financed it. Do you have some kind of insider information? I know HGTV usually look for couples to host, so I doubt either of them would have gotten the show without the other. And I'm sure editing makes things look more dramatic than they really are... Tarek doesn't come out looking like he's always an easy person either. I'd say they're both just regular people. In terms of plastic surgery, I'd also say it's tough to be under the spotlight all the time. I know I'd hate that. The culture of California is to deal with it cosmetically. I'm not into plastic surgery but I also don't live in that world.
