Life in the village is real and full of fun, after staying in the city, where most things are available. Eating with the right hand is Ghanaian culture
Loved this a lot. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the use of the mortar and pestle for grinding the seasonings. 😍 I was very surprised that plastic was used for getting the fire started. I thought that burning plastic was not healthy. It is so good to be able to see how other cultures live and thrive. Thank you for this peek into real village life in Ghana. ❤
I was shocked about the plastic at first too. As much as we love to romanticize the village life, there are a lot of hazardous and unhealthy habits…unfortunately!
SWEET HOME ALABAMA! As a Ghanaian who attended Grad School in Alabama, my home away from the Motherland is ALABAMA! I met a lot of Brothers, Sisters and families who were of immense assistance to me. Likewise, some families and individuals from Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, South Carolina, Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana. I am a huge fan of the SEC - Southeastern Conference. May the good Lord richly bless us all. NKOSI SIKELELEI' I' AFRIKA - GOD BLESS AFRICA!
I am a Ghanaian residing in West Lafayette, Indiana after attending Graduate School in the Deep South. I hope you are enjoying the very best of Ejisu the hometown of our gallant Queen YAA ASANTEWA who mobilized forces to fight the British during the days of colonization. Long live Asanteman. Long live Ghana. Long live Africa!
Using plastic to light a fire? Sometimes I wonder why Ghana is regressing rather than progressing . 50 years ago we were told as kids in Ghana to never light a fire using plastics because of the harmful gas that the plastic will release into the atmosphere. Fast forward 50 years on people are using plastic to light fire in Ghana. It shows how far back that we've gone. 50 years ago when you went shopping in departmental stores we carried our shopping in paper bags. Now even cooked food and drinks are served in plastic bags. In another 50 years I am convinced we Ghanaians will be living in trees. If ever there was a country that is poorly run. It is Ghana.
That’s so sad to hear. I don’t like the idea of using plastic either. The prices of fuel, gas and kerosene are increasing so I do understand why they are doing what they do. All we can do is hope for the best.
