If we wern't so exhausted from surfing and a full day... I would have asked to learn how to make one!!! IN THE FUTURE I WILL DO A VIDEO SHOWING THE PROCESS AND THEN TAKING OVER MY BARANGAY!!!!! :) haha
these type of vlogs of yours are my favourite, small provinces and barangay random stops and interactions. yes the tourist attractions are great but the country and people just has so much to offer, the kindness and friendliness away from commercial touristy parts just grabs my heart. I swear filipino restore some faith in humanity for me and I think the world has a lot to learn from filipino values and culture. so grateful that u share this with us
Simple and happy life in the province!!! The children don’t need gadgets to be happy❗️place so nice and peaceful , love the beauty of nature! Hehe galing ni kumar mag surf,, and Kyle always emerge to the locals,, power on Kyle and super apir for all your adventures
Not "Loo-Thang", Kyle. LOL. "Loot-Hang." Those were our nerf guns growing up. Kumar is talking about "uso", which means "fad" in English. These kinds of toys are seasonal in rural villages. One summer everyone might be playing with luthang, the next summer, everyone might be flying kites, or spinning tops, or fishing, or using slinghsots, or building "kariring" wheels, carving trucks, fighting spiders, playing with rubberbands or marbles, and so on. It changes every few months. I went through all of them as a kid.
Loved it! My wife was laughing because she made guns like that when she was young. (Many years ago.. Haha). Thank you for bringing her back to the joy of her childhood in Davao Del Norte.
In Leyte we use the coconut as ammo which is hard and more painful. The bamboo will be wrapped with rubber to prevent breaking. Its more fun though on those days plating pinoy toys✌🤠🤗
mas masakit yung antena ng tv. tapos ang bala eh niyog, papaya o kaya ung sa ugat ng saging . pwede rin ung katawan ng papaya kasi mejo malambot din un. skl
I love how simple things can bring so much happiness. The Philippines has so much to offer and we thank you for showing it to the world. Power on Sir! Super Apir!!!
talking to the lokal people it`s a privilege especially learning their languages...take seriously when talkng to them and i know u do that thanks ..for the awareness ...nice continue more vlogging
💥Flashbacks, flashbacks 💥 I realized how much fun I had growing up! I’m looking forward to come home again soon. Thank you again for tagging us along.❤️ Proud kaayo taga Mindanao. ❤️
We call that rapid firing luthang "de magazine" and what we had back in the day was actually a lot bigger than that kid's luthang. Our de-magazine had a barrel length of around half a meter and also a half a meter of magazine. Our bullet is also made from papaya fruit and was usually rolled around the body just like machine gun bullets. Neighborhood wars back in the day were lit! 🔥🔥🔥
Good that the barangay is not swarmed with online games ;) A child's creativity is enhanced with the use of whatever is available. My brothers made "luthang" when we were kids their toy guns... decades ago! Haha!..My younger brother also made "tarak tarak" (toy truck made of wood).. and other stuff as his toys..aahh the joys of our childhood 😍
I love that pure happiness when you fired those shots. That's how innovative Filipinos are Kyle. They can be creative with things that can give them a little bit of happiness in life. :D
Good job Kumar and Kulas..... Keep up your good vlog always... Have a nice day....Amping..GOD Bless you both always Mabuhay!! Sakit maigo ka sa luthang.... Kulas...
Your travelling at a new level of comfort, car looks cool, glad you and Kumar got in the ocean, the kids and their bamboo blow guns stole the show. Unbelievably beautiful coastline, wonderful to be along for the ride. Thanks K
Local toys but really fun. Growing up in the countryside of Bukidnon, i watched my brother make his own toy truck from a piece of wood with the tires made of worn out flip flops copying the design of his plastic toy truck. He also created a mini pump boat from a worn out Ice box with plastic propellers and just asked our dad to buy battery so we could play it in our fish pond. Very simple life but it has given my brother a chance to be innovative to enjoy childhood. And yes we played with luthang, tumba lata, patentero and hide & seek 😍😂 Thanks kulas this made me reminisce my younger years in 🇵🇭. Power on👍
Back in the day...I missed those memories of being a child. Our neighbors got pissed on us as their papayas were already harvested ahead of time because we need the ammunition when street siege begun.😂😂😂
Wow! I used to play with that, here in Laguna we call it sumpak made with bamboo, we loaded it with ipil ipil flower buds or wet paper but not that rapid fire, that's cool. Again thanks kulas for the vlog. Showing places we've never been. Ayos!! 😁
Dghana bodyguard Kulas oi mga gagmitoy..hehe...Good morning Kulas, i was overjoyed and enjoy everytime i watched ur videos,..looking forward to see more on ur upcoming vlog..i used to play that bamboo gun when i was a child, it reminds me on my childhod days...God Bless u all the time Kyle...keep safe..and wait Super Apir to u first !!..
Never knew that this existed outside of my own country Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹 we would spend weeks looking for the right bamboo and each neighborhood competed with to see who’s was loudest. Makes me happy to know that no matter how far apart we may be we as people will always be the same.
We played it before... awesome game, but we called it 'LUTHANG'...the best coz were teaming before and battling...so fun childhoods days..sana Mabalik pa ang pnahun gyud kay grabe ka enjoy
it's nice to see children in the province still playing games as such. I hope children in the metro learn to immerse themselves in traditional games. Most of them are into mobile and computer games. I once attended a birthday party and the kids got bored after eating. They thought of playing but don't know what to play. I suggested games like hide and seek, hello neighbor but one child disliked my idea and told me "You're making us go back to basic." She wants to play mobile games.
UKG Kyle & Kumar - those bamboo guns remind me of my childhood days growing up in a provincial settings. Each kid in neighborhood makes their own single shot gun. And then we form two groups n play war games. Mind u when u get hit it hurts no joke about it. During those days we don't even care about d danger of getting hit in eye cz it could be fatal. But d rapid fire setup is new to me w/c is an amazing contraption. I guess like any aspect in life if u can't afford to buy a toy (every kid's dream) ur creativity rules n u learn to improvise to quench ur desires. Btw Kyle it's nice of u giving Kumar a break, we all know he's a surfer freak. U 2 are good friends. So far n every time d best part of ur content is ur face to face interactions w/ d locals ur PR is impeccable...looking fwd on next vid...
Now people from Luzon and other countries can tell what Mindanao really is.. Caring, loving and Hospitable People.. stop the stereo type telling about Mindanao is a trouble Land
Thank you kulas, this toy reminds me of my childhood we call this sumpak but what you found is very innovative a rapid fire sumpak, love it, more power and power on
Hi BecomingFilipino. Another great video. You went to see a lighthouse without Therine.......... You gonna have to visit that site again with her. You and Kumar stay safe. Ingat lagi
You can tell that Kumar looks so comfortable, he looks so good surfing, he really enjoys it. The kids were amazing with those bamboo guns, they will be good warriors one day. Nice people and beautiful place hope you had fun. Thanks for sharing. Take care.
I used to play LootHang when i was a kid with a Bamboo as well,, Both of you kulas and Kumar are Awesome and Good vibes all the time,, kumar is a wonderful man with you...
Nice this things are so nostalgic, oh my tears..... In my home province in Iloilo it is called support, we always play it every windy seasons together with the kite.
That toy gun is legit. It reminds me of my happy childhood where we make our own toys out of woods and plants and we spend more time with our friends exploring and playing outside the house.
It is good to see children makingtheir own toys and at the same time playing with them together with the others......very much like what we were doing back then. ...... I can see wonderful memories in the making, though they may not be aware of it for now.
Such a nice place,,, probinsiya talaga miss ko agad ang Pinas, thanks Bro for sharing with us this kind of place in PI, parang nkapunta na rin kami pag-pinapanood ko mga vlog mo.
Got my respect man, you bring me back my childhood days I was playing that when I'm still a kid. pilipino kids can make there own toys out of nothing..Siple life man....simple life.
Hi Kulas.... That was so funny.... When you asked those kids to hit you with the luthang... Such a kid at heart! Love that in you... Beautiful community and clear waters! Also Kumar's playground every time he sees the waves! Never know that existed in Davao Oriental!!! Such a beautiful place!
Kulas, you made my day! I just miss my home Mati city! Rooting to see you here in CDO soon and would love to learn how to surf with kumar, see you soonest!
