I am a white man living in central London . Apart from the actual crime that's happening around me (I've been a victim ) I feel like I'm living through an occupation . It is very telling that many of my white friends and associates will not venture into London at night anymore .
Apart from stopping the race riots dead in their tracks what has this government done? They've had 12 weeks, not a boat stopped, not a hospital built. Did the last lot not know about this or worse still they did know about it and kept quiet. Pensioners could have and should have been much better off but weren't. It's another post office . Thatcher deliberately deindustrialised the economy and switched it to a services and financial one ie neoliberalism. Economic democracy ended. She had no mandate for this. Now we are in the age of advanced technology which will result in mass permanent unemployment. In a sense it's the Industrial Revolution in reverse in regard to labour. So, mass immigration is about shoring up an economy that will quickly become unviable? These people don't have a clue about the next revolution that advanced technology will inevitably bring or of the kind of economy that it will require.

The country was in a pitiful state when Thatcher came to power. Suffering was inevitable. What wasn't inevitable given the lost years of the 1970s was the recovery of the 1980s.
