    Locally here Harbour Air has been testing a retrofit electric on a float plane. The majority of their trips are short shuttle,30-50kish which is perfect for charging between trips. The weight of battery packs has to be considered. The pilot says the torque at takeoff is quite superior!

    I am very much in favor of new technology and innovation. There is a place for any or all electric vehicles. However electric has a big short coming, energy density. Battery technology does not have an even close energy density to carbon based fuels. Energy density in batteries will continue to improve but in my view it will be many years before it approaches that of carbon based fuels. So for a very long time there will be a market need for both. Unless great detail to safety and backup systems are payed attention to a single fuse could down an aircraft. As a former military person and an Electronic Engineering Technician, in a combat situation a fast recharge will still need to be accomplished by carbon based fuel generators mitigating the zero emission aspect. I should suggest helical toroidal propellers which would increase efficiency by about twenty percent. Keep moving ahead this is impressive technology.

    • @hanswallner2188
      @hanswallner2188 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You need much less energy in an electric aircraft, even todays lithium ion batteries are able to provide around one hour of flight time for electric aircraft, there are already certified electric planes out there, and they have 10 year old battery technology. As right now energy density goes up by the month, in the very near future flight times around 2 hours will be possible, which is more than enough for many tasks (short range passenger flights, emergency services, package delivery...)
      electric aircraft will have tremendously reduced costs per flighttime, as all the hot section engine problems go away, electric motors do not need regular maintenance, cost reduction will be HUGE !

    • @kf7bws
      @kf7bws 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@hanswallner2188 Lift is determined by the shape and size of the wings. Pound for pound it takes the same amount of energy to get identical panes in the air regardless of whether it is fossil fuels or electric. "You need much less energy in an electric aircraft," is not true. Getting an aircraft in the air is not the issue maintaining flight is the issue. As you stated "lithium ion batteries are able to provide around one hour of flight time" fossil fuels have a much higher energy density, meaning they can stay in the air longer. Someday it may be a reality that we will have long range electric flight, it is not today.

      It's MUCH easier to control emissions from a few sources (power plants) than from 10s of thousands of planes. You're also ignoring the fact that coal is dying and wind/solar/hydro plants generate more electricity than coal does. And a single fuse can down a combustion powered aircraft --I've seen it on the Smithsonian TV show "Air Disasters." I'm sure electric plane designers will be smart enough to build in redundancy like every other system.

      - Energy density for batteries is improving every year and it won't be long until they provide viable output for long-duration flight
      - Overheating is avoided with active cooling similar to what we see in battery packs for electric cars
      - Electrical fire has the same or less chance of occurring as a traditional gas-powered vehicle with the added benefit of no requirement for handling fuel at all
      - Running out of juice can happen in both electric and gas vehicles so not sure what the point is there
      - Any aircraft failure will end in tears, electric or gas

      AntiGravity Air Taxi
      Work base on Gravity just spinning by using Battery
      can fly in bad weather, plunge in the ocean even in outer space
      Can lift more than 100 Ton
      Earth which weight predict 600 trillion ton does not fall at the Sun because of centrifugal in orbitting, on the contrary it does not be thrown far go out the orbit line of hold by gravity at the Sun as orbit center. Gravity and centrifugal is equal called Equillibrium, thats why until now Earth which we was inhabited always rotate and circulate the Sun. Now we justly take example : how if the gravity used and centrifugal is negated? The Earth will float far leave the Sun. So that centrifugal can be used to fly far away if gravity eliminated. Finally how to eliminate gravity?
      It’s way rotate part of aircraft by horizontal. When that rotation faster centrifugal force getting greater and the gravity getting smaller, finally it lose the gravity and the aircraft start flying. Of course people would surprise: how the aircraft can keep rotate without fulcrums? Thats why we named that aircraft Shuttling System that is aircraft likes two disc adjoining attached in the midle as fulcrums:
      A. The Top part, we name Positive rotate to right, and the edges is getting thicker and havier.
      B. The Buttom part, we name Negative rotating to left, and the edges is getting thicker and havier.
      C. Middle Part , we name Neutral, air crew placed and also machine and everythings turning Negative and Positive at the same time.

Battery design has to change dramatically to reduce risk overall. Can you please review the negatives as well. I see only the spin on the positive side of electric with your site.

    Petrol has 100X the energy density of a Li-Ion battery. A 737's range would be 31.6mi instead of 3160mi. That would be 90 stops for a flight from NYC to LAX.

    • @hanneslimbach2505
      @hanneslimbach2505 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      While it is obvious that electric flight will not work on long range, but works excellent and cheap on short range your comment is nonsense, pure energy density is just one factor, there are lots of others, engine efficiency is at least double in electric motors, then consider approach or taxiing, where a gas turbine still draws 50% of fuel consumption while an electrical aircraft would taxi with 1 or 2 percent power and would even produce power on approach by recouperation as EVs do.
      With todays usually marketed batteries electric aircraft with range of about 200 miles is absolutely possible, and there are several electric planes flying.

    • @Hyposonic
      @Hyposonic 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@hanneslimbach2505 Nonsense? I design and build these battery systems. My comment merely tempers the hype and shows how far we have to go. If math bothers you, that's your issue. No one said there was no market, just a long road ahead for those of us who dream of electric flying cars in our driveways.
