20 years ago my brother and I put spinning reels on 11' fly rods to reach around timber creeks back in Texas. People thought we were ridiculous until they saw those stringers full of slabs. I still use the same rod today.

I own a 11ft ozark mid seat, two 10ft ozark rear seats, 12ft BnMSSS and a 13ft ACC and they all play a special part in hunting down slabs for me. Love them all hands down🎣

I live 20 mins from D'Arbonne. I love the reputation it has received as a crappie production factory. But I hate that it's gotten so popular that there's a tournament (or even two) almost every weekend. 2-3lb crappie consistently were a regularity for years. Pressure is something to consider. Caney and Bussey will be feeling this soon for bass. 10lb'ers on the regular as an expectation leads to too much pressure. Especially on smaller lakes.
Understand, hopefully the catch and release policy is endorsed with bigger female crappie for a future fishery by not just the tournaments but individual anglers as well.
What’s the big difference between this and the 8’ crappie diamond series ?
I like the lighter jig poles like these ones.

Never been interested in a super long jig pole….I’m a bank fisherman and long poles and trees/walking through the woods is a bad combo.
