I was very very fortunate as my Mother taught me as a young man how important the female orgasm was. Not just during, before and after intercourse but whenever she was in the mood. Learning to accept and have an attitude of accommodation. I can recall seeing Shere Hite's book on the bureau in our home back then. It's a damn shame this nation seems to be going backwards when it comes to sex and the roles of men and women. All I can say is thank you to Ms. Hewnham and also to Ms. Shere Hite for her courage and stalwartness.
I read the Shere Hite’s sex report and the Alfred Kinsey’s books on human sexuality in my Chinese university’s library. They were out in the public for students to read. I was having a break in the middle of studying and wandered around to see what books they had, then I saw these two. They were Chinese translated versions, but very eye-opening for me. Also these two books are pretty famous in Chinese young people when they talk about sex. I’m surprised that most American youngsters have no idea of who Shere Hites is, even though there is a hookup culture in US. How can you have sex so randomly when your sex education is so bad?
