Code of Jyotish is something which is found in every classical book of Jyotish weather it be Brihat Prashara hora shastra or Bhrighu Nandi Nadi as all books of Jyotish follows a code of Jyotish for timing of events.
The timing of any event in Jyotish is based on 3 locks in chart and when these 3 locks gets aligned events happens in native's life out of which the first lock is a house based lock when the events will happen.
To time any event when it is based on house use 12 year cycle in each house and then use one house as 1 year to predict the event but as simple as it sounds -There are so many unsaid rules in this one line which we get when we practice on natal charts.

Magar Goswami ji ne kaha hai ki ye basics hai, rashi ke pahle ghar dekho, to basics me to Lagan kundli hi use hoti hai. Chalit to more advanced stage hai.
So for general prediction use lagan for specific guaranteed result go to chalit.
