Those look like cheap, and probably quite old, mats. I'm surprised that Judge M awarded $200, given the lack of receipt. And what happened to depreciated value?
Sounds like they didn't have contents coverage. They need to be getting replacement cost from their ins, if the have it. Normally restoration companies clean and store, if they just store, it's because the coverage isn't there, or was spent to make the structural repairs. I have 25+ years in that industry.
Yep, it costs a little more, but it's definitely worth it. I have replacement costs on everything in my home and have specialty items like guns and jewelry as scheduled items. I had to provide photos to the insurance company of my major items and appraisals for the guns and jewelry, but I don't have to worry about receiving the depreciated value if something happens. If I can't replace a scheduled item I receive what it's appraised at and anything else I just need to find the closest thing to it that I can if I want to replace it, if not I the insurance company pays me the price of the item I found like it. It's a small price to pay if anything happens to my home, and I have to rebuild. I could never build it for the same amount I did originally, and with today's prices, it's the only way to guarantee that the insurance company will cover the cost, minus my 1% deductible.
The Plaintiffs didn't even say anything to the Defendant until SIX WEEKS after receiving their items back. They took no photos and brought no receipts. I feel the items may have been wet when they went into the boxes to begin with. I feel bad for the Plaintiffs, but they had no proof it was the storage that ruined their items and not the flood itself. I blame the insurance company for dragging things out for the them. I'm sure it's extremely frustrating.
There is a block of TPC episodes this one included that she looks like she had a make over. JM is a beautiful woman on her own but she has always looked top notch when she is on camera.😊
$200 for a rug?! That’s a lot! Ur suppose to get the value of the item when it was lost, not a brand new rug! Why did JM rule like that, did I miss something? 😮
She's probably used to oriental rugs which are thousands of dollars so to her $200 is the cost of a used rug. Because yeah. I'm in the market for an 8x10 and they're all like 300$
Did they think the movers were supposed to clean their dirty stuff. They got back what was given. It’s an insurance issue to have insurance pay for your damages.
I had a customer returning something because it smelled bad. She tried to get me to smell it, like ma'am, I am not about to get whatever stink you just brought in stuck inside my nose.
It’s too bad about all of their stuff, but it seems they didn’t have any evidence. There is the possibility that the couple’s stuff was packed damp from the flood. It would only take a little dampness on a few items to cause the bad smell after being packed for so long.
The defendant sounds with his lip smacking seemed as if he was going to puke. It was very annoying to hear through out this. But to me the floors and up the wall a foot shouldnt make items that sat high in the house stink if anything the rugs should have been funky. To me i feel like maybe this guy did store them somewhere funky, idk. Its hard to tell. Maybe he left the boxes outside got moist from morning dew, like who knows but to me if stored properly items not involved with the floor shouldnt of been musty. Also if they packed the items that were wet then store in containers will cause musty mildew. He should of noted every item that was wet, and store those separately, and definitely not closed up. But he could of also got the boxes wet too. And only store dry items in rubbermaid containers. Who really knows. But the plantiffs were very old and seemed very snippy like no one can tell them anything differently. Tough case was no way of telling who was at fault unless that business had other customer complaints.
Great case. I loved how both sides spoke to Milian, particularly the plaintiff's. No nonsense no playing around. Firm and direct. The plaintiffs even told her to smell the items presented in court for yourself!
Typical. You would like plaintiffs who spoke to JM in a quite aggressive manner from the get go. You like it so much, that you simply ignore the fact they couldn’t prove their case at all and only kept making baseless accusations. Even claiming the defendant’s company froze (!) their stuff (when they were in the hallway) without as much as a shred of evidence! While you normally bend over backwards in your comments about ‘how JM didn’t make the right decision’, always going into the legal aspects of the case… Pathetic.
Great. We are back in 2012 episodes. I love this. Thank you.
Thank you! I want the years on the older episodes
Me too!
How do you know it’s 2012?
I think they packed up stuff that was wet or damp..so what did they expect after all that time?
Sounds like their problem is with the insurance company.
There are alot of bad insurances. If you are not paying
Too much. Take another look at your contract. It may not cover anything.
This is an insurance claim issue not a storage issue. They’re suing the wrong people.
I agree they should have paid for damage to their belongings too.
This was a lawsuit for the insurance company. I hope these people sue the insurance company! They went through too much.
Absolutely.
Instead, they made a call to hire the storage company to go over and box up the stuff in the way.
Bad call by the insurance company.
No pictures, and no proof. How was the judge supposed to make as good evaluation of the plaintiffs loss.
Sounds like they stored it nasty what did they think would happen?
Judge in some flare jeans damnnnn
That walk she gave when walking away she definitely was stunnin & showing everyone who’s who 😂 I ❤️ her sm
Why wld anyone have items that sat in sewage be packed and stored and expect it not to smell

@@Sophie-mm7owI take photos of my items with the receipt and keep them in a fire/ water proof safe.
Never needed them, but still.
Why are they sued? They were supposed to clean and dry clean everything??? They didn't cause the flooding
Thats her friend with benefits😅
They ain’t fcking💀
The defendant's dry mouth smacking on the mic 😒
Omg i'm actually tunning out now cuz that started. Can't stand!
Stupid lawsuit !! No proof

Judge's make-up and hair is on fleek this episode 💅

She is so beautiful!
What is fleek?
@nathanbabiuk6286 It means "looking good".

I don't agree with that because if they didn't damage their items they wouldn't have to spend any money for anything
Did they think the movers were supposed to clean their dirty stuff. They got back what was given. It’s an insurance issue to have insurance pay for your damages.
These Plaintiffs are completely insane- why would the Defendant FREEZE the boxes in storage?! That was the most asinine claim I've heard on this show.
Reding and Redden ?
Yah, whaahh?
They froze it! Put all their stuff in the spare freezers 😂
Is the defendant Dan Akyroyd's brother?
Dude at end no we couldn't have done a better job we always loose stuff we are hired to store.
I had a customer returning something because it smelled bad. She tried to get me to smell it, like ma'am, I am not about to get whatever stink you just brought in stuck inside my nose.
Hell whats up with all the big bags - evidance?

The only smell u battle to get rid of is cat pee.
plaintiffs lied
old man tells a fractured tale, but it is true nobody cares about old people
The case probably should have been dismissed since the plaintiff didn't notify the defendant of the problem nor make a demand before filing suit.

Do you destroy your kids clothes when they poop through?
Being mad is not evidence

“The only case that got Judge Milian on her knees”
( 11:04) 😉
Thought he was Margaret for a hot second😂
Me too! 😂

Didn't say "smell for yourself "
But they didn't prove their case except for the rug. Maybe they sued the wrong person 🤔
Well they barely proved the one rug, so they weren't that great of plaintiffs.
You must love how I talk to you then. I'm always telling you all about yourself. I like how you just take it like a B

Insurance is a scam! 👩🏿⚖️
I know it’s not his fault but I had to stop watching because of the defendant’s mouth noises when he speaks. Misophonia problems…
What a waste of time
