I watched your video several times while trying to figure out why I wasn't able to upgrade php to 7.1. After a few days of frustration and paying close attention (plus doing everything correctly) I realized I needed to update to visual studio c++2019. That actually worked for me and solved all of my errors and problems. Wordpress now shows version 7.4.1. I'd suggest to anyone watching yoru video, pay close attention to detail. You told us what needed to be done (decencies-wise) so, I assumed my latest addition of 2015 was outdated for the latest version of PHP and sure enough that was the culprit. Thank you so much.

I actually installed PHP 8 using the Windows Platform Installer but your video stepped me through the fixes and settings I might have assumed that the platform installed would have handled. Plot twist: It didn't. But this addressed all! Thanks for posting.
An amazing tutorial. I needed help with upgrading PHP for Wordpress running on ISS Server 2019 and all the help referred to using the Web Platform Installer which didn't work. Although this video is about installing PHP I followed it and IIS uses it rather than the previously installed version. Your video covers are the important bits that other would skim over, like the need for the VC redistribution kit and the testing to make use each change works. Thanks for sharing.

Great simple steps to get PHP going. Server 2016 installed VC++2017 by default so did not have to seek out the vc_redist. Thank you! :-)
