The musical realm gave itself a little shake after which it all came together in Jasmine Choi and made a miracle. If we're all of us very lucky we'll have a long, long time to listen to her and, if we're even luckier, to grow with her as well.
Hi Jasmine. First, I LOVE the pic of you wearing the pantsuit in the red chair. Another absolutely WONDERFUL performance. I'm not familiar with this one. It got past me somehow, but I absolutely love it.
Rouse's concerto is atmospheric and meditative, as is much of his music. I found his lyricism here attractive at first, but then it became monotonous, its length unable to sustain its limited musical interest. It is obviously well-crafted, and here exceedingly well-performed; the fault lies with me; I just don't connect well with some of Rouse's music.
Very surprised your teacher didn't catch your RH finger position and position of foot joint. It's turned in way too far for your length of fingers causing much stress in your pinky. That position is very unusual and I urge you to reconsider moving it up more so your fingers are in correct alignment with the keys. Blogs are full of performers having physical problems and it always comes back to holding an instrument in an unnatural way causing stress. Listened to your comments of the Baker 100 years and took note of your problem with RH in the past. This correction will help prevent pinky from locking up which happens to most flutists with this FJ position. Some really nice control, musicality in this piece. Not a fan of this composer, sorry to say. Hope you continue to have a successful career.

I love your tone!!
Wow! Awesome composition and playing. Fantastic orchestra!! :)
Brava!
This is amazing!

Honest. I love how you gave intelligent reasoning as to why you weren't crazy about the piece. I love this concerto, but I also get your point.

I am screaming of laughter.
LOL!
Scooter Macarthy How would you know if this isn’t the position that she feels most comfortable with? Everyone is built differently.
How lucky for Jasmine having you for an instructor.
Oh I'm sure HER instructor caught that. lol you should prob research the performer before commenting unsolicited advice 😂😂😂
