This is one of those Expectation vs Reality videos. The expectation is what we see in the fancy concert videos with fast cuts and close up shots and nighttime dark rooms and audiences losing their collective shit. The reality is what we see here - the band giving its all to a lame crowd of people standing around like statues with their phones in the air and minimal energy to return to the band. And a half-empty stadium floor, which is likely because people have packed forward, which is good, but it also just creates this weird separation with the bleacher seats. Like those videos of Space Mountain at Disneyland, but with the lights on.
Well if you watched the interview with them about the tour they do realize its a large square open space because of the EU arenas are built that way, but when it comes to the US it'll be football stadiums which are more narrower so it'll look much more packed tight. That field is VERY large I'm surprised they were able to fill as much as they did. Especially knowing they're doing back to back shows at every city.

As much as I love metallica the recent crowds are missing proper metal-heads forming mini pits and wall of deaths and such ....basically this is Crowds you would see at an ed sherran concert .....thankyou stranger things 😂
I disagree. I've seen Metallica 15 times in the past 31 years and I've never seen a wall of death at any of their gigs. And yesterday there were plenty of moshing and circle pits during songs like Creep and Battery.
Yeah man, would be better off if they did in a smaller place like an arena, the cost would be lesser so tickets are cheaper n i bet more attendance than this (well, I'm just complaining because they won't come to our place anyway😢)
In NY the upper sections are like $150 for Both shows, that's $75 per show. The last time I saw a ticket under $200 for a person to be sitting.... in the building.. was like 2017. Go without your Starbucks for 3 weeks, there's your $150. For BoTh shows. Not you, but people in general..
stade de france can hold 80,000-100,000 for concerts, theres about what 20,000/30,000 for Metallica, that's still a huge amount of people(especially over 2 days, its actually double).

I was there and they were still selling tickets at the stadium before the show. I think that the price is too expensive considering we’re in a price crisis. Not to mention the show was on a working day here in France
Wow, I've never seen such an empty Metallica show. I'm probably misjudging, but the upper level is totally empty and curtained off. Again, there's probably 45k in there but it doesn't seem like a huge compared to the size of the stadium.
stade de france can hold 80,000-100,000 for concerts. there are not many that are going to sell that out but that's still a huge turnout for Metallica it looks smaller because the place is huge
@@arckenex5142 its impossible for even the biggest acts to sell out stadiums anymore. They have to take up room for the stage and rigging. That takes away from capacity.
@@bdeithrick All the shows are two nights as far as I know. Amsterdam had April 27th and 29th. Maybe this is a much larger venue so it looks worse than it really is? Edit: I double checked, only one show on their calendar has a single night and I don't believe it's a direct M72 tour event. And Mexico has 4 nights at the end of the currently scheduled tour.
