  • What is the RCCB circuit breaker working principle & how does residual current RCCB trip work explained in the video tutorial. A residual current circuit breaker (full form of the RCCB) or residual current device (RCD) is a current sensing electro-mechanical device that breaks an electric circuit in case of a fault. It operated, whenever the difference between line and neutral current (called residual current) becomes more than the set value. It is an electrical shock protection device for safety at home. What is the RCCB circuit breaker used for human safety from electrical shock, RCD residual current device is explained. RCCB types AB, A & B and also poles; test method for trip action is explained in the lecture. ELCB Earth leakage circuit breaker explained in electrical engineering lecture. RCCB chappal ko nahee janta hai. Agar 30 mAmp leakage hogee, tho trip karega. Ab chappl kasee hai, uska resistnce kitna hai. Industry me Special shoo pahenna jarooree hota hai. Aur rubber pad bhee dhartee per pade raheta hai.

    sir ji a doubt- ELCB and RCCB are same. ELCB is called so ,because it trips on earth leakage.i.e. the name due to its function.
    RCCB is called so,that it is working on the principle of residual current inside the breaker circuit. AM I CORRECT Sir? So many people are asking question the difference between ELCB and RCCB.

    • @GKAgrawal2
      @GKAgrawal2  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are right. Both are same object wise. ELCB was used olden days. RCCB is used now days. Now ELCB may be used in very specialized application in industry only. ELCB uses ground wire to measure current. So ELCB may not be able to measure the current flowing in human body during shock as this current does not flow in the ground wire. while RCCB can measure current in body during shock also. Above explanation is based on my understanding. Now day lot of electronic based protection are used in industry, and they are defined based on various protection requirement. These electronic based relay may not use the gender name RCCB or ELCB ( they are not interested in name but in function only). Protection and monitoring panels are designed to protect the equipment in quite complex way. but we do not use RCCB or ELCB wordings.

      They do have 3 or 4 switches, but they are mechnically joint together to make all 2 or 4 switches Operation at a time.

      @@GKAgrawal2 and if I change the load side of RCCB with deals as below:
      L(RCCB load side ) is connected to N(Load)
      N(RCCB load side) is connected to L (Load)

      In case, I see the first time, I connect L( load side of RCCB) to L(Load) and N(Load side of RCCB) to N(load) then it was not trip but when I changed it like that I described above and then it was trip.

      Your load one wire may be leaking. When the particular wire gets connected to the line, then leakage will become more.

    Voltage between neutral and earth, in early morning is 10 to 18 volts, in afternoon 8 to 10 volts, in evening 10 to 15 volts. In early morning if I start /run, 2kw water heater or 1HP bore jet pump or both, RCCB(32A/30ma, Havells) of my house trips. If I run both load in afternoon or at night, RCCB donot trip. What is the problem.

    • @Ash-qc1xi
      @Ash-qc1xi 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      rk sona Hi, you can install it in two ways.
      1. Install a 4 pole RCCB on mainline coming out of isolator.
      2. Install 3 single phase (2 pole) RCCBs, one one each phase after isolator.
      First method is good if you have a 440 volt usage such as 3 phase motor.
      Second method is good when you have divided load across 3 phases. It will trip only that portion of load which has leakage.

    Wrong analogy.
    There can't be a current flow in neutral wire, unless it is an unbalanced circuit.
    Name itself is saying neutral means zero voltage. There can never be a current with zero voltage.
    Since no current in neutral you Don feel shock in practice.
