The whole production was done remotely, using several commercial studios and many home-recording studios with final editing, production and mastering undertaken by Jon Bates. Video was supplied by the Artists, created whilst they were actually recording.
The recording process, thanks to Covid and lockdowns, was much slower than normal. A few drummers managed to record in commercial studios but since studios had to be shut for much of the time, more often than not the drummers relied on their own recording equipment at home. This, in many ways, worked well for the project as each drummer was able to have a very hands-on approach in creating the sound that they really wanted.
This, in turn, gives all the performances individuality and marked contrasts that, in a normal world, may never have occurred! The drummers come from all points on the stylistic spectrum, from Prog to Funk, Hard Rock to Jazz, Classical, Pop, R ‘n B and Soul.
All in all, it probably is the widest variety of drum kits on one recording!
Video edited and produced by Stuart Millership

Great sounds coming from a great individual musicians...long live Rock.
Lovely to see Brian Bennett back behind the kit, what a drummer.
Yes a superb drummer. Bev Bevan said it was a thrill just to be on the same recording as him.

New Horizons. The Bluey (no, not the cartoon one) and cricket theme th-cam.com/video/Q4-Y1wobh6I/w-d-xo.html the full piece is on YT it was a KPM music piece.
Very happy don Powell still playing drums .with his new band ..wud LV to see them ..hope they come my way..to Norwich .. waterfront.... Melanie 33 🤘❤️ X
So wonderful to hear this again. Well done Don for bringing everyone together to produce this classic, in order to raise money to help all the technicians ect. So lovely to see Bev Bevan still has what it takes. He has not changed much over the years. Time has stood still for him. I remember Bev when he was with Roy Wood in the Move. Roy taught me how to play a guitar many years ago.
F*****g BRIAN BENNET! Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant! Can’t imagine the logistics involved putting this together. Hugely appreciated. All fantastic drummers, but… Brian Bennett!!! Oh man… How many strings did you pull to get THAT legend???😮. I hope everyone else bowed when he appeared...
Top Drumming Guys... Don George Powell on the drums... 😎
Great to c all the other drummers and precession...as well ..all ages ..🤘
This is Brilliant and so lovely to see Brian Bennett behind the kit!
Great craic!
My son would appreciate this.
Don was the reason I started playing drums 40 years ago. (Thanks mate) Love this.
I think we should make Don the honorary King of the Drummers
Mesmerising Don … how special. … wow x
Happy birthday Don keep on drumming!
Very good with the drums and everything.
YESSSSS......🥁 A little bit of magic and a beautiful beat. 👍🏼 Well done to all. 😀
Great! Viva Don Powell band!!!
Well done Don, Craig, and everyone involved. Looking forward to buying the track on Friday 18th June.👍
Good one Don,😍😎
Apart from Sandy Nelson I've never heard better!! Brilliant!!
Brilliant stuff everyone, classic track.
Nice to see Andy Edwards too!
Lovely
Very cool and fun.
Wow, what a great performance!
My shoulders dance to the sound of your performance!
Oh yeah ….super stuff 👏👏
Super, merci à vous tous et a Don Powell pour cet initiative
brilliant
Brilliant stuff
Absolutely love this ! And for such a great cause too. Well done everyone involved.
As for the usual 'snippy' comments, read the description ! This was produced remotely using many different performances and recordings, have you tried to put something together like that during this weird time for live performance ? No. Thought not. It's not easy ! 'Let There Be Drums' will have been chosen for a reason, y'know
Thanks everso - your appreciation is much appreciated!!
Probably the 100th time I've watched this.
Brian, Mick and Sticky are my favs! Rest is also great!
Epic guys well done
Cool !
Hammergeil !!🤘🎸🤘🥁🤘😍👍

It is reminiscent of the great Sandy Nelson.
OH my goodness this was Magic Thank You so much great to see Don again and the rest of the Drummers
Lovely to see Don Powell doing something different.
Love it! Nice work all x
Love it!
This is so cool 🤘🤘
Needs more cow bell! But seriously...this Sandy Nelson classic is well done. Now let's hear "Teen Beat".
Fab stuff 😀👍🎼
This is Awsome stuff.
I loved this. If you weren't tapping your foot while listening to this then that's your problem. :)
Charlie would have loved this.
Loving Mickey Barker.
Kind of ironic that Bev Bevan is on this and he once released his version of it as a single back in the 70's.
Why isn't this getting some major national radio airplay?
No female singer under 25, no "dance beat", no chance of being played
Su-bloody-perb !!!!!
cool!
Thanks to Brian Bennett for highlighting how badly I undervalue sticking rudiments.
Really should get the pad out…
2min33sec Are you ready Steve.
I'm musically illiterate, so I get mixed up with Teen Beat and Let there be Drums. There is an award-winning film that relates to one (or the other) British Transport Film, Snow the music was reworked by Johnny Hawksworth and Daphne Oram (BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Dr Who Theme) was involved. Hope you enjoy. Do remember this isn't CGI, this is men doing backbreaking freezing work: th-cam.com/video/cl4pJwcE7JI/w-d-xo.html
Mr Barker is awesome
WOW!!!! 🤘🥁🤘
excellens!!!!!!!!!!
LOVE IT, hello from one of the Brownsville boys : )
Hi Billy Big thanks from the DP band (who all love Brownsville Station) and “H Bomb” and Don are old buddies of course. Appreciate that 🤘🏼
@@DonPowellBand For sure H is my pal and rock and roll blood brother.
Me too, talks about you a lot.
R.I.P. Sandy Nelson
I think this would have been a good one for Sarah Jones.
This is a comment from someone who knows nothing about drumming or drumming techniques but speaking as a listener, I thought Brian Bennett was the best by far on this
🔝👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Slade👐
Funny masterpiece...😊
B r i l l i a n t !!!
fun
It's the Don Powell Band and the audio is gone from Don's playing, seriously? Who's paying the driving snare groove throughout the track?
YES! The drums throughout the track are all Don Powell, other than the solo sections played by the guests. Check out bit.ly/3F8ofog for a version with only Don @ his own band
@@DonPowellBand Ah, so the video shots of Don aren't lined up at all, thanks for clarifying, Don rocks!
@@roblianoofficialThank you :) Due to Covid restrictions the tracks were all done remotely and the band video was done (again remotely) after the track was completed. Everyone you see in the video did play on the track, even The DP Band singer, Curly Davies, with a tambourine!
@@DonPowellBand So awesome!!!
don powell you my idol can you listen to my Spotify Ed Catch
Don't get me wrong but everyone is entitled to an opinion. I have heard this one thousand times even more and then again the Nursery Rhyme Wipe Out. all the same and same and same and more same. Now when it comes to DRUMMING and I mean DRUMMING with the most impressive chops and making sense. I have to leave this same same same groove. Who do I turn to? BUDDY RICH lets repeat that BUDDY RICH enough said.
Buddy Rich was a jazz drummer these guys are rock drummers. Apples and pears.
Would you like to try repeating that in English…?
I only knew, Don Powell, Brian Bennett & Bev Bevan. Who are the other wannbes but just couldn't cut it with the true professionals of Powell, Bennett & Bevan?
Not a bad effort but Sandy Nelson has nothing to worry about.
Are you seriously calling Blundell, Brazil and McKenzie wannabees? Do you know anything about drumming?
@@Colinl3052 🤣👍👌🤘
Wannabes??? Oh, you utter clown…
too average, sorry.
Love it !
