Wait... Okay hear me out. With Season 5 being the ending of the whole like upside down thing. Steve, Robin, Eddie (if they can figure out some good way to bring him back), and Nancy all move to New York and start a Mystery/Crime solving business and all work together to solve the mysteries. And then Nancy and Robin do the whole friends to lovers thing and so does Steve and Eddie. And the show ends with all of the together and happy. Then in another like 25 years do another spin off about what it's like to be a kid with queer parent living in America in 2005. Then all of us gen Z-ers and millennials that love this show now can watch something like it again in 20years and it'll be like we feel the nostalgia of the time and the show itself! Lol
I'm honestly going to be pissed off if they really do have Steve and Nancy wind up together again. Those "girl next door" and "Douchebag alpha" types are so likely to hook up in real life, and it basically never ends well. Steve growing up, being the babysitter, and getting a cool lesbian BFF has all been really good for him, but to swing back and get the trophy girl now that he "deserves" her just taints the rest. I didn't mind Nancy and Jonathan - it kinda felt like the writers didn't know what to do with them after they wound up together but that's the usual incompetence you can find anywhere. Still, for everything I said, I would prefer Nancy and Robin over Nancy and Steve. I like Steve. Just not with her.

Since canon is probably not going to give us Ronance, may I recommend the works of fauchevalent on Ao3? They’ve written a veritable goldmine of the ship. The writing is good and they have works that range from tooth-rotting fluff to angst to crack.
Honestly these two just work together so well. Like Nancy is obviously smart and has great, journalistic instinct so it's totally in character for her that she had the idea there may be a connection between Victor Creel and what was going on. But Robin is just as smart, she just look at things from a different angle and came up with the idea of looking at 'The Watcher Weekly', which is a publication that Nancy probably wouldn't even have glanced at normally because it's not based on 'fact'. Plus it always gets me that it was Robin that thought of that, yet she gives all the credit to Nancy. It's like "Girl I get you're being gentlewomanly and everything, but damn take some of that credit yourself too. You both worked it out!"
I think they're smart in similar ways. They wrote Robin a bit like a spacey goof (moreso in s4) but if you put her contributing to solving the Vecna origins sidequest they went on with her work to crack the russian code in s3 you see she really quite rational and analytical, as is Nancy. Girl speaks 4 languages.

I honestly think they're a great pair because I always think that both Jonathan and Steve don't fit Nancy that well(even though I ship Steve and Nancy in Season 4), I feel like they neither try to protect her nor tell her not to follow her thoughts(Robin did at the start but she still follow what she says even if she knew she could be wrong), but Nancy can protect people and is right most of the time.
I'm going to say something rather obvious here. The final season of Stranger Things, is setting up to be the end of days. This likely means casualties. The Duffers just started their own production shingle, so it would be very unwise of them to garner bad blood with the fans. Since canon is probably not going to give us Ronance, may I recommend the works of fauchevalent on Ao3? They’ve written a veritable goldmine of the ship. The writing is good and they have works that range from tooth-rotting fluff to angst to crack.
Honestly these two just work together so well. Like Nancy is obviously smart and has great, journalistic instinct so it's totally in character for her that she had the idea there may be a connection between Victor Creel and what was going on.
But Robin is just as smart, she just look at things from a different angle and came up with the idea of looking at 'The Watcher Weekly', which is a publication that Nancy probably wouldn't even have glanced at normally because it's not based on 'fact'.
Plus it always gets me that it was Robin that thought of that, yet she gives all the credit to Nancy. It's like "Girl I get you're being gentlewomanly and everything, but damn take some of that credit yourself too. You both worked it out!"
I think they're smart in similar ways. They wrote Robin a bit like a spacey goof (moreso in s4) but if you put her contributing to solving the Vecna origins sidequest they went on with her work to crack the russian code in s3 you see she really quite rational and analytical, as is Nancy.

I honestly think they're a great pair because I always think that both Jonathan and Steve don't fit Nancy that well(even though I ship Steve and Nancy in Season 4), I feel like they neither try to protect her nor tell her not to follow her thoughts(Robin did at the start but she still follow what she says even if she knew she could be wrong), but Nancy can protect people and is right most of the time.
Why do all of you want them together. Nancy spent most of the time not liking Robin and Robin spent most of the time shipping Nancy with Steve.

I'm going to say something rather obvious here. The final season of Stranger Things, is setting up to be the end of days. This likely means casualties. The Duffers just started their own production shingle, so it would be very unwise of them to garner bad blood with the fans. TL,DR: Robin Buckley had better survive the final season, cuz the Duffers *really* don't want that smoke.
