Thank you for making this video it has really helped me with revising content. I am currently in Y12 and doing the full a level this year to see how it goes and my teacher has kind of left me to it and has not really taught me anything. This has been a great help and would really appreciate one for paper 2.
My teacher did it as well when I was in Y12. Don't worry about it too much, it's just to test your knowledge and how much you can do on your own. Treat it as practice for your mocks/real exam next year.
Note at 2:36, pipeling is NOT parallel processing, it is concurrent processing. Concurrent processing means running tasks one after the other. For example, one task may be started and a second may start after the first one, but before the first one has finished executing. Parallel processing is when multiple tasks are carried out at the same time.
@@MarwaMarwa-dg5oc damn that sucks. yeah i thought it sounded wrong, so i did some last minute digging and found a mark scheme that gave concurrent, but not parallel. keep your head up though, it'll only be one mark plus it's "generous marking" so you might get away with it.
It kind of depends on the context. If you are talking about CPU architecture where you are performing the stages of the FDE cycle at the same time, then yes, pipelining would count as a simple form of parallel processing for the exam board. You also have the idea of pipelining as a common computing technique where the output of one process can be fed into another, e.g. the classic UNIX pipeline with examples like ls -l | grep key | less.
@@s1perry Maybe I'm just confused, but what you described in the video sounded like parallel, I agree. Fine line between the two to be fair. Hey man, thanks for the great video - explained well and concisely. Will you upload a video covering the full specification (non-2022 exams) in the future? It would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Hi can you make a new video that includes all the topics of the spec for 2023 exam as in 2022 the number of topics were reduced because of the pandemics. Great video, learnt a lot of stuff watching it

since TCP/IP stuff is there, there could be a small section on it. the advance info did say that we might have to draw upon other spec points for certain questions & not just the ones listed. pain in the arse.
If you're able to do a video for paper 2, would you be able to post it in 2 parts so we can start on the first half whilst you're finishing the rest of it? I'm not sure how possible that is, but that would be great if so 🤞🙏🙏
On the advanced info it says that there may be other topics in the paper that are not listed on the advanced info, to what extent should we revise the other stuff? I've revised everything on the advanced info, so I'm just wondering if I really should have dedicated more time to everything else. Thanks
For the GCSE paper, only the advanced info was on the exam. But if you are confident with that, have a look through the other topics for a bit of a refresher, just in case!
i think maybe we should go over the other sections, briefly at least, because the advance info for gcse computer science didn't specifically say that candidates may still be assessed on topics *not* listed, unlike a-level advance info.

The table becomes 3 columns; 0101 = 5, 1011 = B, 0101 = 5 the headings being: 2048, 1024, 512, 256....128, 64, 32, 16.....8, 4, 2, 1 which makes it add to 1461 and again with 23f it becomes 2 = 0010, 3 = 0011, and f = 1111, which becomes 001000111111 = 575
